    Catholicism vs Protestantism

No, Muslims do not adore Jesus as God. Suppose you then say that Muslims therefore do not adore mankind's judge on the last day. The logical fallacy I believe you would be committing is equating Jesus with all of who God is. Does the bible say that only Jesus is mankind's judge on the last day?

As I said, Sometimes the Bible presents God as the judge on the last day, sometimes Jesus. The verse you presented speaks of Jesus judging. Can you find any verses in the Bible that talk about God judging?

Seems like there would be some overlap. Is Paul talking about worship here? Romans 10: 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

@Jackson123 So about post 1516, you do agree that Jews have a zeal of the true God?

    Can you Spot the Trinity?

Like most issues of textual criticism, it looks fairly complicated to me! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_16 "The earliest extant complete manuscripts of Mark, Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus, two 4th-century manuscripts, do not contain the last twelve verses, 16:9–20, nor the...

It's possible! It's also possible that Mark was written first, Matthew and Luke use a lot of material from Mark and also add a lot of other material, either from a saying source or from their own experience or research.

So, @Jackson123 my brother, We've been talking about Jews having a zeal of the true God. Do you agree that Jews have a zeal of the true God? Or do you believe that people who say that cannot be Christians and are attacking a foundation of Christianity?

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

Yes, exactly! Jesus prays that the disciples would be one just like he and the father are one. And just like the disciples are not the same in every respect, so also Jesus and the father are not the same in every respect.

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

Sometimes the Bible presents God as the judge on the last day, sometimes Jesus. This verse probably explains it well Romans 2: 16 in the day when God will judge the secrets of men, according to my Good News, by Jesus Christ. So God will judge the world through Jesus. It's kind of like the...

Say, @Jackson123 my brother, An interesting verse about the nature of Jesus and the father being one. John 17: 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one...

Matthew 26: 39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. So Jesus implies that his will is separate from the Father's, though he will choose to do what the...

    Catholicism vs Protestantism

To be a true worshipper, one must worship God in spirit and in truth. Jesus says that the Samaritans are worshipping something that they don't know, and the Jews are worshipping something that they do know (which would have to be the true God since he includes himself in that group). But he...

    Can you Spot the Trinity?

Yes, a lot of the material and Matthew is based on Mark. A lot of it is not found in mark, however. For example, Matthew opens with a lengthy genealogy that is not found in mark.

    Can you Spot the Trinity?

I'm not sure if I'm following what you're saying here. Are you saying that the longer ending of Mark must have been part of the original book because Matthew copies from it?

    Can you Spot the Trinity?

Of course we can disagree about the dating of the Didache. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Didache The Wikipedia article gives several references that date it much earlier. The longer ending of Mark is in some Greek texts, but not in others. This is why I recommended we agree on a particular...

What do you mean by modern version? Do you mean the SBLGNT? It's basically a tool, a time-saver. It's easier than traveling to specialized libraries or museums and asking to see the ancient texts they have there. Some texts like the codex vaticanus are available on the internet, but I find them...
