Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." [1]

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
Yes absolutely and only pointing to my key argument here that when we look to recreation regarding simulated violence for example video games there is a natural and normal and human agency towards the aspects and uses of what is - essentially - violence. A lion's teeth sinking in or the killing blow of a slingshot are all part of God's creation and the (Fallen) nature of man.

So to properly ascertain whether a particular game or even movie is depicting violence in a way that doesn't dishonour God - since He specifically says that He hates the shedding of innocent blood - I think it's more than fair to simply make the "enemy" or "bad guy" a horrible monster/zombie/vampire - thus distancing the person from any truly homicidal thoughts and providing a cathartic and enjoyable experience for the player/viewer.

Is there a video game of the movie Titanic? How could you avoid the big iceberg? Or save as many people as you could from drowning? Or would you be the first to try and get on the lifeboats. What if you were in 3rd class and all the doors were locked and you couldn't find a way out..and no lifejacket ....how to avoid freezing to death/drowning? Would you swim to the nearest wooden plank that could be your raft but only big enough to fit one person on it and leave your lover to freeze?

Would you dive down and retrieve the heart of the ocean necklace, what if its in the safe you can't unlock?
I think there is a game but if I recall it was terrible.

I don't think anyone is arguing against that here - fictional violence?

but I suppose that explains fantasy/horror genre as monsters, zombies and vampires as those things are not real. As in not actual flesh and you can't kill them and the are depicted as inhuman. Paranormal things are I suppose ---NOT part of God's creation?

For depiction of horror Kuromi is certainly not a violent figure at all. She just mixes up magic potions (useful ones that give you superpowers) and loves spooky things. Ghosts are actually not that scary. Although having said that the female of the species is deadlier than the male.

Is Everything is part of Gods creation? So if EVERYTHING is included then I suppose depravity and pornography is 'normal' human behaviour as well. Thats why God had to kill every living thing with a flood right? Except for a few people he saved like Noah's family and two of each animal.
Bible is full of violence and gore. It's not for the weak/faint hearted, esp the Old Testament. It's a slaughter-fest in some parts. Especially for the babies that were Jesus age when he was born.

We know that because of Jesus. We know Jesus changed/changes everything. He's a game-changer.

simulated violence, are you saying or 'virtual violence' is ok? For video games with questionable themes like homicide or crimes against humanity.
What about contact sports, where you could sustain injuries but not enough to kill you outright? Is that a healthy way to express aggression. Aggression is something that needs taming i.e temperance.

We all. have moments of rage, but doesn't mean we should all go on a rampage/killing spree or abuse others.

When your computer is back up I would love to hang out and play some Holdfast together!!

I play a lot of that and Total War games but I also have: Lethal Company, REPO, PEAK, Content Warning and a bunch of others so maybe we can find some we share! Big Walk looks awesome but I don't have it yet.

Nice to meet you Jacob and God bless you brother!!
Actually, my Computer came back from the shop and after awhile, something else is wrong with it lol.

Yes exactly and getting back to what I said earlier: you are judging this entirely one sidedly because Sin and addiction and unhealthy expression of the fallen human state is not limited to violence. Your stance that one particular kind of game which can be just s addicting and life-harming as violent ones is "better" is inherently wrong because you're still participating in a possibly unhealthy fantasy realm which in this case we know for certain is not part of the Lord's creation and is just a fantasy. But we/I are not judging you for that. You are only judging us. Remove the log from your own eye before looking at everyone else's speck, sister.

No and even then you mentioned contact sports, why does there even have to be contact at all? We can simulate the entire experience into something we call "working out" which is entirely healthy expression of the natural aggressive energy within people. In fact not exercising that aggression and only bottling it up with no outlet is considered harmful and dangerous to our mental and emotional well being.

I'm all for Football or Rugby, but a human does have to be hurt, many get head injuries etc. and even some have died playing those sports.

Comparing violent video games to a killing spree or real murder is exactly the false-dichotomy that I am trying to dismantle here. Video games (of all kinds) and screens in general are all equally as addictive and harmful if not approached with discipline and grace.

Sure brother, what kind of trouble are you having? I'll try my best to help you from here!!
I got the AI to summarize it because I was talking to it about it.

Symptoms

While playing Ace Combat 7, after playing for a while you started getting noticeable stuttering. At the same time, the music you were streaming through Radio Garden in Firefox also stuttered. Your audio was being played over Bluetooth.

The fact that both the game's performance and unrelated audio were affected suggested something broader than AC7 simply losing FPS.

What we've checked

Your hardware monitoring looked generally healthy:

  • Ryzen 7 5700X3D: peaked around 57°C — excellent.
  • RTX 3070: peaked around 72°C, with normal-looking clocks, utilization and power.
  • VRAM: only reached about 3.4 GB / 8 GB, so VRAM exhaustion wasn't an issue.
  • You recently had an unexpected Windows automatic disk repair, which initially made the SSD suspicious.
  • You installed Samsung Magician and its initial short diagnostic reported that your Samsung 870 EVO appeared healthy.

So far, we haven't seen evidence that the CPU/GPU is overheating or that the SSD is obviously failing.

The important discovery

We ran LatencyMon while you played. The stuttering happened during the test, although less frequently than it had previously.

LatencyMon recorded a huge latency event:

Wdf01000.sys — ~438 ms maximum DPC execution time

It also measured an interrupt-to-process latency of approximately 1.07 seconds.

That's large enough to plausibly cause the kind of system-wide hitching/audio interruption you experienced.

Wdf01000.sys is Microsoft's Kernel-Mode Driver Framework, though, so we haven't identified the actual offending device/driver yet. We should not try to delete or replace that Windows file.

Where we're going next

Bluetooth became particularly interesting after you told me that's how you were listening to Radio Garden. Your LatencyMon capture also showed Windows' Bluetooth driver (BTHport.sys) active, although that doesn't establish that Bluetooth caused the problem.

Our next troubleshooting step was deliberately simple: reproduce the problem while changing one variable at a time—for example, play AC7 without Firefox/Radio Garden, then potentially test without Bluetooth audio.

So our current working hypothesis is a driver/device-related DPC latency problem, with Bluetooth/audio/USB-related components worth investigating. We haven't found evidence yet that your recently repaired computer has suffered another major hardware failure.

This sounds to me like a Windows 11 driver or scripting issue for sure, those Kernel systems are made of a lot of spaghetti code which is difficult to work on and Windows 11 (like every update frankly) is notorious for causing audio/graphic artificacting. Do you know how to set your CPU affinity? Windows 11 is set to think that your CPU has 15 threads which is usually not the case (usually we have a max of 6 to 8.) I can explain how to change your affinity and also recommend opening any and all games you play as an administrator just to rule those out as well.

Actually, I'm running on Windows 10.

Did gameplay stutter, or just audio?

If gameplay lagged too, I'd suspect a RAM leak. Because Windows. If only audio, probably something in the bluetooth stack.

Does it stutter when you run it from a hardware audio jack?

weird that people think I'm judging

I just don't enjoy violence or playing violent video games. Something wrong with that?

You can play them if you want in your spare time. Doesn't mean I have to.
