do you think it’s possible if someone forgives another that the person that has been forgiven lead them to repent, out of humbleness of another choosing to forgive.

were the ones He interceded here for, repentant? they didn't even know what they were doing. later, the soldiers said 'surely this was the Son of God!' -- if they repented at that time, then in this case did repentance come after they had already been forgiven?
In a word, yes. If all it would take is my humble forgiveness or accepting the reproach of another to aid in their repentance, all day long.

Indeed and IMO it’s best to forgive even if they don’t repent, for it we stop forgiving we might miss the one who will.
The apostles as a living historallly true parable were given the authority to simulate the forgiveness we receive of God in order to keep some order when gathering together. But only God not seen can forgive sin .
The King James does not do justice to the instructions or law. Catholicism for one has taken the misinterpretation and used it to turn things upside down just as the unbelieving faithless Jew. And in doing so have replaced the unseen eternal things of God (things of faith) into the temporal things of men, (no faith).

We should forgive all things remembering we have forgiven them in order perform the work of God working in us with us. . Only God can forgive and cast the consequences as far as East is from the West remembering them no more forever more.. Again its not ours to like or enjoy to perform the work of forgiveness but it is our to love by ding what the word says as God love, one sided... not expecting anything in return .

Looks like the YLT got spooked, I don’t know but I haven’t seen any other translations do the same leave out the name.
did YLT do so just because what the catholic’s had turn it into, or did they find that in the original manuscripts the name was not given.
Forgiveness and repentance are distinct, and poorly understood.
Repentance is acknowledging (owning) both the doing of wrong and the wrongness of it.
Forgiveness is surrendering judgement and vengeance to God and treating the offender as though their sin is covered fully.
God forgives all sin, with the one exception of blaspheming the Holy Spirit. However, that forgiveness is extended to those who repent and trust in Jesus, not to everyone.
We don’t forgive others for their sake, but for our own. Forgiveness is not restoration, and it isn’t excusing the sin ir pretending that it didn’t happen. Those who commit grievous sins with significant negative impacts should be restored to fellowship upon repentance , but restoration to their former position may not be appropriate.

No, I don't believe we are suppose to forgive everything, nor does the bible order us to do so. It says to forgive others just as our Father forgives us (Ephesians 4:32). And how does God forgive us? When we repent.. Luke 17:3 says; "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him".
Forgiving is not forgetting, nor is it absolution from an offense. The malefactor crucified with Christ said; "We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve" (Luke 23:41), Jesus didn't argue with him about that.. So in regards to the OP's example of a child molester, if they truly repent, we should forgive them right after we kill them for what they did.

OP is this something that happened in your life, are you able to explain.
Repentence is key, if the person in question hasnt repented or asked for forgiveness then one cant offer forgiveness. What one can do is let go of any thought of revenge though and let God avenge them. Give them to God to deal with.

it seemed very odd to me too, until i learned that the Greek grammar indicates something different than what most English translations have -- here's a more literal version
I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, and whatever you might bind on the earth shall have been bound in the heavens, and whatever you might loose on the earth shall have been loosed in the heavens.
'bound' and 'loosed' are perfect participle middle or passive tense -- sort of like past tense in English with the sense of having already been completed and ongoing. English doesn't have an exactly equivalent tense.
if we are walking in the Spirit, following after the Spirit, then when we bind or loose something on earth, it's because we are walking in what the Spirit does -- it is God who binds and looses, and we, if we are doing His work, are carrying out on earth what He has done in heaven.

The Bible says God looks on the heart. He knows whether someone is truly repentant. Corrie Ten Boom tells a story about forgiveness and how she was challenged when the guard that had abused her during the Holocaust showed up at one of her meetings. She had such hatred for him,she had lost her family during the Holocaust but her sister kept preaching forgiveness as they were held in the camps. When the guard walked up to her he cried and asked her forgiveness,he had become a Christian. She said in that moment that God gave her love and helped her forgive the man that had caused her so much pain. Yes, we are to forgive. That does not mean people who commit a crime should not answer for and be punished because of it. That does not mean you don't hold people accountable and let them use you or others or harm them. But God knows the heart,we do not. He is the only righteous judge.

Forgiving one of a "sin", is one thing.
The forgiving of "habitual" sin? One should pray and ask God, where a line should be drawn in one's discerning between forgiving, and enabling.
Only God Knows the condition of our hearts. Not forgiving tarnishes ours, just as habitual sin tarnishes ours. I believe it is a commandment to forgive with a sincere heart. Forgiveness is not condoning. We are to hate the sin, not the sinner, eh? Is that easy, nope. We see that even in politics.
