I'm a hands off kind of person myself
lay hands on no man (woman) suddenly and all that
yes, I know I am kind of taking that verse out of context...but I meanz it!
why do people who obviously do not know the facts about their chosen topic ask questions as though they might actually consider an answer different then the one they already hold near and dear to their hearts?
it IS mind boggling how folks can ignore scripture and yet try to tell others who have a different and SCRIPTURAL experience to the contrary, that they are wrong
I have no idea why you would insert Matthew 7:7 into the equation
what do you think ask, seek and find applies to?
what are we finding?
God IS Spirit...He does not reside only in the pages of scripture..we define the truth through those pages, but we can also EXPERIENCE that same truth
could please show me where in the scriptures it is taught one receives baptism through imitation. This is a supernatural gift from God for believers for their benefit. (a purpose for this gift): 1 Corinthians 12:1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits;
to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
As to Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: If you continue to Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? that is why I quoted verse 7 or a better quote would be Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
The Word of God is our guide line for salvation. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and guide. We received him through the baptism of repentance but Jesus wants all believers to be empowered through the baptism of the Holy Spirit only HE can give Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
In Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. This practice is not of the Spirit but of the flesh, that is why I stated this practice is dangerous,
