And yet we keep hearing about people that were Christians and fell away back in to doing sinful stuff.
No, that's not true.. It's a very rare occurrence for the mature believer to sin:
Hebrews 5:14
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Galatians 5:16
Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 John 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that DOES righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil
1 John 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
1 John 5:18
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
1 Corinthians 15:34
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
He did not tell every person in the Body of Christ to sell all they have and give it all to the poor and for us to be homeless.
That came out of fake religious teachings associated with poverty vows.
One cannot earn their salvation by giving away all their stuff.
No more than you.
You too could b giving that money to charity instead of indulging yourself
Speak for yourself. I'm not living in sin but maybe you are.
It sounds like you are saying that you engage in sinful behavior most of the day every day
I didn't see anybody say that, did you?
But, are you aware God's Word says this?
1 John 3:7
Little children, let no man deceive you:
he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Bottom line here is those we are led by the Holy Spirit will stop engaging in sinful behavior and those that continue in sin are being led by demons
