If the New Covenant is not what The Lord has done for me, that I could never do for myself, I do not know what it is. I am helpless to save myself. I only know to be grateful to Jesus Christ. This is all I can do.

How do I break the Covenant? I can only be grateful. I do not have correct words to explain what that is like. But if there is something I must do in the New Covenant to save myself, I do not know what it is.

Leviticus 26:14-16 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
[SUP]16 [/SUP]I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

Zechariah 11:9-10 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of another.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people.

commandments= Strong's 4687 "mitsvah"
The mighty shedding of blood that enables one to be in God's presence when we chase after its security by continuing to reach out for the truth. That is the essence of loving God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength.

The "commandments" are to daily be reformation in our heart through the instructions of the originator of covenant, and by pursuing the changes it causes when we are sincere.

This is directed by the faith given to us that contains hope, being joined to our Father through Christ, our High Priest, receiving the understanding of the allegorical temple, and ordinances of old with its offerings and sacrifices, and then applying those to our lives today.

It is to desire the instructions God gives freely since the beginning, searching diligently with all your heart the spiritual meaning of temple worship as it was then, and endeavoring to exact the same offerings and sacrifice in Spirit, because our bodies are now the temple.

John 2:18-21 (KJV)
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
[SUP]21 [/SUP]But he spake of the temple of his body.

1 Corinthians 3:16-20 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
[SUP]17 [/SUP]If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Psalm 94:11-12 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

Neglect and apathy of these things we are exhorted to pursue will eventually "break covenant" with God if we have no desire to grow, and be daily transformed.

If we have the attitude of "it's all been done in my life, and its all in the past," that propagates an attitude of disconnect, and we are not in God's will.

In temple worship, salt was to be incorporated with all offerings of meat.

Leviticus 2:13 (KJV)

[SUP]13 [/SUP]And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.
Matthew 5:13 (KJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

If we we think we are justified by doing this or that without this "covenant" that includes faith, we are also out of God's will.

Romans 12:1-2 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12, Verse 1 is the epitome of Temple worship that we are suppose to be engaged with. It's reasonable, as Paul said.

Thank you for attempting to clarify. But The Holy Spirit brings dead people to life, and the new person is a changed person, and will not be trying to Break Covenant. I do not understand why so many people here use the threat of commandments on other Christians. I need you to love me and believe the best about me and build me up, not frighten me with the Law I know the Bible says can not save me. Jesus Christ died and rose to bring me to God eternally and my response is astonishment and gratitude. Why do you want me to live in fear again? I can not save myself. I can not obey all of God's commandments all the time even though I want to. Are you saying that you can and do? Are you a Covenant Breaker? I do not understand this. I only understand love.

In the study of the word “covenant” I have found some amazing things. It is common practice by the Christian sect to separate the two. For sure there are two, and I will explain the differences between them in later posts. I do hope that this will be edifying to those that want the truth, and I’m sure that there will be some that will argue against what I feel necessary to present. To begin, I present a verse that Paul wrote to the Galatians, with the likeness between the two covenants as an “allegory,” yet there is only one covenant that has been consistent from the beginning.
Galatians 4:24 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Which things are an allegory: (238) for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
Allegory: A figurative discourse, in which the principle subject is described by another subject resembling it in its properties and circumstances. This allegory is a narrative in which abstract ideas are personified, a continued metaphor. In this, we see that the two covenants are actually the same. The difference, as will be described, is physical versus Spiritual.

Old Testament Covenant=(Strong’s1285) briyth ber-eeth' from **1262 (in the sense of cutting (***like 1254); a *compact (because made by passing between pieces of flesh):--confederacy, (con-)feder(-ate), covenant, league.

In Biblical terms this is a *compact, firmly united between two pieces of flesh, involving sacrifice, and the human race. It is also a description for marriage, one being between man and woman, and the other between Jesus and the church.

**1262 barah baw-raw' a primitive root; to select; also (as denominative from 1250) to feed; also (as equivalent to 1305) to render clear (Eccl. 3:18):--choose, (cause to) eat, manifest, (give) meat.

***1254 bara' baw-raw' a primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (as wood), select, feed (as formative processes):-- choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat).

Ephesians 5:31-32 (KJV)
[SUP]31 [/SUP]For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
[SUP]32 [/SUP]This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Genesis 2:24 (KJV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

To continue, we see this allegory with Noah, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel.

Genesis 6:18 (KJV)
18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.
Genesis 15:18 (KJV)
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
Exodus 2:24 (KJV)
24 And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.
Exodus 6:5 (KJV)
5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant.
Continuing now with the description of the “New Covenant” (still being an allegory) I quote
Jeremiah 31:31-34 (KJV)
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

So we see the same description for the “ Old Covenant” but it is described as “New.”

Hebrews 8:8-10 (KJV)
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Do you see this relating to these verses, the perfect law of liberty? Because it's written on our hearts, and we inwardly know it.? Maybe, conscience, for lack of better word..
[SIZE=+1]James 1:23: For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer; he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. Great point you bring up concerning the "law of liberty!" We are free from sin because of the sacrifice of the High Priest first. The Priest then takes our sacrifice, and baptizes it by fire. He takes our peace offering, and separates it according to God's will so that the ministry of the gospel can be sustained and increased. VERY GOO POINT!!!!

Please read what Karraster wrote and my response. Thank you for your input sis. It's a matter of understanding in the Spirit of God all that God has presented to us since the beginning of time.

Romans 8:6-8 (KJV)

[SUP]6 [/SUP]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Did you post that to say that I am carnally minded and in the flesh? or as the post you recommended said "pleasing to God"?
I just wanted to know if you believe you are more pleasing to God than I am? Do you love God and do you love others more than I do? Or more than other people do? How do you know? I said my response to the Good News was astonishment and gratitude, and that I joined to strengthen my faith in Jesus Christ, and to experience the love from His people and to try to love them also. Is this presenting myself as a living sacrifice? Is this pleasing to God or is there something more I must so? I am sinning by being where I am? Are you accusing me, or loving me and believing the best of me? I'm just asking because I am reading some terrible things said here, worse than things I hear among those who do not believe. And it seems to be about the Law. Is this the right way to handle the Law? I need to grow in love.

[h=3]Hebrews 12:1-2[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[h=3]The Race of Faith[/h]12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

12 So then, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us, too, put aside every impediment — that is, the sin which easily hampers our forward movement — and keep running with endurance in the contest set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]looking away to the Initiator and Completer of that trusting,[SUP][a][/SUP] Yeshua — who, in exchange for obtaining the joy set before him, endured execution on a stake as a criminal, scorning the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.[SUP][b[/SUP]

Oh, so the converted person wouldn't think to sin? Would nto even think about breaking God's Law? Not what Paul says...

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Rom 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

And Paul wrote this twenty some YEARS after his conversion.

The bottom URL is a song I wrote. Hope this will help you understand where I am coming from. I certainly don't want to frighten anyone, but it is good to have the proper fear of the Lord. Wanting to obey exemplifies the correct heart.

Hebrews 4:1 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

John 5:43-47 (KJV)
[SUP]43 [/SUP]I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
[SUP]44 [/SUP]How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
[SUP]45 [/SUP]Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
[SUP]46 [/SUP]For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
[SUP]47 [/SUP]But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

You are reading into his post something that is not there. That scripture applies to all. We are 100% carnal before conversion, but we are not 100% spiritual after conversion. It is a process of overcoming carnal attitudes and growing in grace and knowledge...

2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Remember Paul said this twenty some years after his conversion...

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

Hebrews 12:1-2

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Race of Faith

12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

12 So then, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us, too, put aside every impediment — that is, the sin which easily hampers our forward movement — and keep running with endurance in the contest set before us, [SUP]2 [/SUP]looking away to the Initiator and Completer of that trusting,[SUP][a][/SUP] Yeshua — who, in exchange for obtaining the joy set before him, endured execution on a stake as a criminal, scorning the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.[SUP][b[/SUP]

Too late to edit, oops, ..........to add. The great cloud of witnesses were all the believers who died before Messiah came.:)

Messiah was there with them too. Everything that was created was created by Him, including all the covenants.

He came in the form of a man to show us a personal side to Father, that we not just fear Him, but love Him too. Because He first loved us.:)

Oh, so the converted person wouldn't think to sin? Would nto even think about breaking God's Law? Not what Paul says...

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

And Paul wrote this twenty some YEARS after his conversion.

Why are you attacking me? Why are you changing what I said? Have I wronged you in some way?
I did not say the saved person would not think to sin. I said the new person is a changed person, and will not be trying to Break Covenant.

I could have said, will be trying to not sin. To avoid sinning. Not trying, or working at deliberately Breaking Covenant. This is the same thing. Why didn't you listen to me with an open heart?

I never said we do not think to sin or that we do not sin, because we all know that we all do. Are you saying you do not sin? One of the signs of a saved person is their increased sensitivity to their sin. If you know the Law, you know you do not keep it. Or do you think you do?

If you love God as He has ordered you to do, why do you seek to find some faults in me? I have many of them. Do you have a plan to put me back together again after you have torn me down? I am sorry for not loving you the same way I am asking for your love. There must be a way to love that is separate from Legislation ordering it. If I order you to love me, will it make you love me?

I am not in the position to judge. That is the scripture that I didn't write.

But you are in a position to judge your own standing.
Do you love God and others as you are commanded to? That is what I asked. I understand you can not know my heart, but you do know your own. Do you love God enough and others enough?

I am not attacking you, I am disproving false doctrine.

It appears from your posts that somewhere along the line you have been taught that salvation is a one-time thing and that a Christian has no responsibility after that initial acceptance of God's gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus. That is not the truth. God DOES require things of us as people who claim to be His. My advice is that you start searching the scriptures for yourself as the Bereans did in the book of Acts. Don't just accept what others tell you as gospel truth.

But you are in a position to judge your own standing.

God loves us through Christ Jesus so much that He did what needed to be done to separate us from sin. If we are to love others, and our enemies as ourselves, we would desire to do all we can to follow suit with Christ in that respect. Warm fuzzies don't make it.

John 15:12-14 (KJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Jesus taught Old Testament before His death.

Hebrews 9:16-17 (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

One of the commandments is about not bearing false witness against your neighbor. I am your neighbor.
Where did I say a Christian has no responsibility?
The Law requires you to have proof of what you say, and to make restitution when you have broken the Law.

I do know what the Law says, and in your single writing to me here, you have broken 3 commandments directly, and therefore you have broken them all.

I have only a few posts. Without changing what any of them say, could you please show me where I have indicated that I believe the Christian has no responsibilities?

Why are you demeaning my communications? I am asking directly about Love.
Is this what it is to love the members of Christ's Church?
Jesus commanded His people to love one another. Do you consider the love He placed in my heart Warm Fuzzies, are you saying the love He gave me for Himself and His people won't make it?

What do you mean? I don't love enough.

Hi Keren, Honestly, I just went over all your posts because of the prompt you gave in this post. Reason being, you laid down a challenge, and well, kinda hard to resist a challenge...but who am I to find fault with you. I could have said any of those things too.

Really though, I had a neat little thing to share, coincidentally, I've been looking at meanings of names lately. Keren stuck in my mind because it is close to my name. Anyhow, Keren in Hebrew means shofar, as in, announcing something, a heed warning, etc. Anyhow, thought I'd pass that on since I just found it the other day.:)~k
