Indeed it is. The cottonmouth is more fearful than the rattlesnake in my opinion. When you encounter the cottonmouth you are very close and in his watery territory. It will make the blood leave your face.
I have never heard of anyone eating a cottonmouth. They eat rattlesnake I know. Cottonmouths have a certain oder or musk smell to them. I would have to be awful hungry.
