I was reasonably certain that smoko wasn't referencing smoking.smoko is what we call tea time. You don’t have to be a smoker to have smoko. And you can make a u-turn any time, any where
My first impression was that smoko was referring to cooking food outside on the patio. Now I feel like throwing another shrimp on the barbie. That's an Australian term I believe. Or may from New Zeeland. I forget.

Jip, that is from Aus. The funny thing is I am actually originally a South African so I've learnt to speak the "Aussie" lingo. Though I still struggle with the "barbie" because to me it's a braai.
