Are we Holy is Christ or cleansed sinners?

Is the water from Christ pure, without stain or contamination?
Is Gods way without blemish, clean, washed and clean?

The High priest had to get specially washed to enter the holy of hollies.

Now we have problems and issues in life when we first start walking with Christ.
We have so much to learn, and lots of things to be healed of, new things to become.

Now when talking about these subjects often we talk in polarised terms to make our position more clear.
Some think the other side is them, rather than just a way of displaying differences.

My feeling in the Lord is we are never stationary but always learning and going from one position to another.
A friend in a bible study remembers when she first danced in private before the Lord in worship.
She does not feel like that now, yet there is a longing as if it should be there.

This demonstrates how difficult it is to get used to becoming something different and then continuing to grow and change, but all the reference points have now moved. We are now in a different land with different people because we are now older, maturer and we are leading more than following.

In this wonder, is there a place to feel rejected, or rather there is only a place to wonder at His richness, what a King.

We are what Christ is:

Holy (Hebrews 10:10, 13:12)

Righteous (Romans 3:22)

Perfect (Hebrews 10:14)

We are also:

Saints (Philippians 4:21-22, 1 Corinthians 1:2)

Priests (1 Peter 2:9)

Heirs of God (Romans 8:17)

To be holy, I think we need to repent of our sin.

God is Holy. Created things can be holy only in a derivative sense. Christians are holy because we have received the Spirit of the Holy One, Jesus Christ. It is because of the presence of the Spirit of Christ, that we are regarded as "saints" (2 Thess. 1:10) or "holy ones."

I like the proposal we are what Christ is.

The problem is if we do not walk in purity, can we claim the sense of holiness, purity, righteousness.

Is it hypocritical to claim a high status when we walk in sin?

Because people are reluctant to use this language I get the impression people as a whole do not feel like this.
I have been told I cannot claim any purity because of what I have said here.

I do find it funny because I am unaware of what people are suggesting, but rather aware that whatever I say or share it will get turned into some kind of a problem, but that is to be expected. I cannot confess sin I do not understand or what is being said.

I do understand the statement "the pure in heart will see God." Gods intention has no selfish intent, or exploitation, or desire to cause a problem, just to bless and open up people to life and truth. I desire likewise, even though some accuse me of the opposite.

I do wonder though if you see in me an emotional intention that is wrong, then whatever I say I have made a mistake.
If it turns out this is just a projection of an emotional reality in your own life, what is real? Until you have sorted out all the major issues in your own life you will never know. It is why unless you have a pure heart this phrase holds no meaning.

What does holy mean?

It means "set apart".

[TD]Strong's Concordance
hagios: sacred, holy
Original Word: ἅγιος, ία, ον
Part of Speech: Adjective
Transliteration: hagios
Phonetic Spelling: (hag'-ee-os)
Short Definition: set apart, holy, sacred
Definition: set apart by (or for) God, holy, sacred.HELPS Word-studies
40 hágios – properly, different (unlike), other ("otherness"), holy; for the believer, 40 (hágios) means "likeness of nature with the Lord" because "different from the world."
The fundamental (core) meaning of 40 (hágios) is "different" – thus a temple in the 1st century was hagios ("holy") because different from other buildings (Wm. Barclay). In the NT, 40 /hágios("holy") has the "technical" meaning "different from the world" because "like the Lord."
[40 (hágios) implies something "set apart" and therefore "different (distinguished/distinct)" – i.e. "other," because special to the Lord.]

In all honesty, I think you need to read the Bible a few times and study under better teachers that were taught correctly by people who were taught correctly. Then I believe the Lord could use you.

Who is the best teacher? Who is the real teacher sent from God? The Holy Spirit.

I appreciate your encouragement, but the statement "I believe the Lord could use you" is unfortunate.

The Lord has already used me and those around me. The phrase "taught correctly" has too many overtones that are not good. It implies you do not agree with what I am sharing but cannot put your finger on it.

The truth is Jesus calls us to do two things. Believe in Him and follow.

When a person Is born again, they are holy In the spirit and are a new creation but our bodies have not been glorified so then by the mercies of GOD we should present our bodies a living sacrifice.

I mean be holy by transforming, renewing your mind.(sanctification)

He does have a gift, If he would just learn the truth, I think he could be powerfully used by God.

The lord can not use you if you misrepresent him.

You teach works, not grace, In doing so, you mock the cross of Christ.

as an example. You said,

we are holy of God and cleansed sinners.

Then later, you follow by saying as long as you walk (wash yourself)

Which means, although you claimed to be washed and holy. You do not believe it at all.. You preach one thing, but believe another..

Amen, It can get confusing can't it?

We are holy,

We are being made Holy

Seems contradictory doesn't it?

Yet if we look at it, It is settled

One is a position (in Christ)
One is a Condition (Like christ)

God has made us perfect (in Christ) as he is making us perfect (sanctifying)

Hebrews 10:14
For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Peter was clean, but he needed a foot wash.

As for the question:
I'm a saint in case noone noticed lol.

Yes, But who did the washing, and cleaning? Peter or Jesus?

And think about what jesus said, You are COMPLETELY CLEAN by the word i spoke to you (your faiht in my word)

But you need washed,

How can one be completely clean (perfect) but need washed?

Feet wash, you get dirt on your feet if you move around in Israel with sandals. That's inevitable. I heard it meant your walk in the world, that's why you need to ask Him to forgive you and cleanse you. Not because when you said a word or did something that was not out of faith (that's all sin James says) you need to get born again again, but you need cleansing. Like John said. Your sins are forgiven and if we sin there's 1 John 1:9.

On one hand Paul says: I died with Christ, I don't live anymore. He lives in me. Greetings to the saints in ....
And also:
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. (Phillippians 3)

When Jesus says you are clean to the disciples he is talking about their hearts.

When Jesus washed their feet, he was showing being a servant hearted leader meeting a need in the household that would have been done by a servant normally.

The idea of mixing these two stories makes me dumb founded. If you call this spiritual wisdom, and want to honour those who teach like this, I wonder if you are listening to the Holy Spirit at all.

Does a blind man know he is blind? No, because if he could see he would not teach contradictions.
Unfortunately, I do not understand why people believe the way they do or experience life from different perspectives. I do know I have good fellowship with many and find blessing in the Lord. The more I share the more I see what I would expect as a response does not occur in some, so the meaning is lost.

I think it is true the called respond, and those who do not see or feel, do not know what is going on around them.

Now, think of what you said,

Peter was clean completely. (Internal)

But while walking in the world. he would get his feet dirty from the stains of the world. So he would need to wash the filth of of his feet (external)

Paul said the same thing,

I died with Christ (his blood washed me completely is the reference,)
Yet I need to keep walking because I am not perfect in my body (I need to watch were I walk so I do not get filth on my feet)

Which goes by what the author of hebrews said

Hebrews 10:14
For by one offering He has perfected (completely clean) forever those who are being sanctified. (washed)

I think some (many?) believe in Teflon Christianity in which nothing sticks to them. Why need cleansing when you can't get dirty?
