Weird to come in here seeing @Dino246 accused of not knowing the Lord. To say that simply proves one does not know Dino246.

In the earth there are two sons: Adam who is dead in his sins and Christ Who is a life-giving Spirit. Reality really is that simple: one is either in Christ and alive to God or one is outside of Christ and dead to one's sins.

Christ is a many-membered being comprised of the Lord as the head and saints who form His Body. A collection of saints both in heaven and on the earth comprise the Lord's Body. In Him, in Christ, resides the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

See, Jesus did not die and arise as Jesus with another shot at life. He arose as the Christ, a life-giving Spirit. When Jesus was a man his body was comprised of the dust of the ground BUT, when He was resurrected, He received a spiritual body that could neither die nor be injured. Furthermore, upon ascending to heaven, He became the Head of the Spiritual Body of all believers.

"For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ."
So, one is a member of His Body he or she may take part in grace that does not extend through themselves. (I skipped a bit here but I can go back if needed) So if one member completes a task by grace, the whole Body benefits from that dispensation.

This is what Paul wrote about here:

"There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills."
Paul concludes with the verses quoted above: "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ."

So, how does this work practically? Simply put: if one member of the Body functions in the Spirit by grace then the operation or consequences of that manifestation is accounted to the whole: for all are one Body of Christ.

If I pick up a rock it would be silly to say "My hand picked up a rock". No. You would say "I picked up a rock." Even though the action was completed by the hand, the result is contributed to the whole person.

Do you see then that, by this principle (the one Paul went on for great lengths to explain) that the Body is doing greater things than that of Jesus? Jesus could only be in one place at one time. Christ, however, is found all over the globe and in heaven! Greater indeed!

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Perhaps greater in scope is how we should see that passage.

John 14:12 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

John 17:4 I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.

JOHN 14:12

The works Jesus said we shall do also. And the context of greater is in the amount. The Body of Christ has reached the world for the gospel. Jesus earthly ministry was three years, yet no book could contain all what he did John said. But Jesus did go to the Father and his work did continue. Even tom this day.

This is rather odd. You quoted yourself, a post in which you also quoted yourself, and say this.

You’re beside yourself with confusion.

Maybe you should just answer your own question… or get some help.
A person who does not know the one true God has no real truth to be found in them.
Therefore, instead of answering a question properly by sharing what they personally understand, they would rather avoid the question, steer the conversation in another direction, or simply criticize it.

That is why they would rather end the discussion than allow the truth to be revealed.

You could just admit that you goofed instead of throwing irrelevant hogwash as usual.

Your refusal to share the truth about John 14:12 (whether you know it or not) is evidence that you do not know the one true God. That is why you would rather end the discussion by making criticisms instead of allowing the truth to be revealed. This is the work of the enemy of God, who seeks to continue deceiving people. It is also what his followers do.
REVELATION 12:9
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

I'm genuinely trying to understand your perspective.
After studying the Word of God for five to ten years, how do you explain the Lord Jesus' statement in John 14:12?
If your approach relies on careful biblical teaching and the hermeneutical method, how do you apply that method to this particular passage?
I'd appreciate a clear explanation of how you understand it.
JOHN 14:12

Through John 14:12, God will reveal who truly believes in and follows Him, as well as those who are merely pseudo-Christians.

Perhaps we don't even need to discuss how believers can do greater works than the Lord Jesus did. Let's simply ask whether anyone has done the same works He did.

Who among those who claim to believe in and follow the Lord Jesus has done what He did when He fed the 5,000 men, besides the women and children? Or when He raised the 12-year-old girl to life, not to mention Lazarus, whom He raised even after his body had begun to decay?

Who among those who claim to believe in and follow the Lord Jesus has equaled these works that He performed?

We can discuss later how they have done greater works than the Lord Jesus. For now, let's focus on whether they have at least equaled what He did.

MARK 5:41-42

41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
42 And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Instead of avoiding the question and criticizing the post.

Why can't you apply what you call the hermeneutical method of interpreting God's teaching to John 14:12?

I already explained that I will not answer your question until you recant of your baseless accusation that I don’t know the Lord.

Your words are the problem here. For months, you have been saying that I don’t know the Lord. For months I have been requesting evidence for your accusations. Instead of providing any evidence at all, you have repeated the same tired statements that show nothing.

I have even told you clearly what such evidence would involve, and you have failed to provide it.

The truth is that your accusations are merely your own empty opinions, but you repeat them as though they were Scripture itself.

So instead of more irrelevant nonsense, show us the evidence.

Or be proven a false accuser by your refusal.

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

I explained this here: HERE

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Knowing this came from God Himself in the flesh while understanding God would be speaking about those Saved until He would Return proves the Holy Spirit is still active to fulfill some of these works that involve miracles.

But even giving someone thirsty a bottle of water is a work because you understand a need and do it. It's even better done while saying God loves you.

But let's say Yeshua did 50 works per day for His 3 year ministry. By the time we live for God roughly 40 years we have plenty of time to do more works and possibly greater works like Yeshua foretold we would do.

For the record, I have found that these days, when seeking a woman for potential marriage, that claiming that she must be a Christian can get you all kinds of crazy. We need to be more specific. Born again doesn't work either. I can't get involved with Catholicism, but a Catholic woman would ask her priest, 'am I born again?'. He would reply, "you're Catholic aren't you? Of course you're born again". Now, having learned my lesson, I just say I'm looking for a woman who loves Jesus. Most people know if they love Jesus and can tell the difference between that and claiming a position in a church.

In that same spirit, I always thought that calling Mary the virgin Mary was a bit too much. Don't all women who were once virgins qualify for that title? Me thinks Jesus had siblings. She's not a virgin anymore.

And was Joseph not celibate before consummating marriage with Mary?

Yes. That's why we call him the celibate Joseph, or, well, just Joseph now. Because...

Matthew 1:25 and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.

Matthew 13:55-56 "Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?"

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh, that came to pay our sin debt through His Sacrificial death, and subsequent resurrection.

If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that He was raised from the grave, you will be saved.

There.

I just did a greater work.

I reached potentially millions of people worldwide.

This was something neither Jesus or the Apostles could do in their day.

Yes, both Joseph and Mary should be admired for being chosen to parent Jesus.
I am curious about what happened to Joseph and why he was not around at the crucifixion.

Who is the “we” here?

I was just making a general statement to make a point.

But if you must know, "we" is we who represent the Lollipop Guild. It's a secret society with in Christian chat forums. Do you know the secret initiation dance with song? I can get into a lot of trouble for showing you this. This is a secret video taken, at the risk of someone's life, of this secret Christian chat forum meeting, where three new secret members were initiated, secretly, of course.

Many people believe that there is Biblical evidence that Joseph probably had already died by that time. One of them is that in John 19:26-27, these provisions of Jesus telling John to take Mary into his home would not be necessary for a woman who was not a widowed.
