how do you deal with an atheist

I always throw the question back at them, "why is that/ why do you think that way/ and you're saying that because..." eventually, they get tired of talking all the time. Thats when I say, "I respect that you have a different view, but my view is this, and you dont have to respond to it---I believe that Jesus..." and thank them for their time and then quietly excuse myself.

I dont like debates.

In views that involve truth, if you firmly believe something then how can you respect someone's view if it's wrong?
 
I beleive one should respect others beleifs, cultures, religions and right to be different than oneself.

But I dont like getting rideculed or mocked by atheists for being christian.
This happened to me this Newyears eve.
I was hateattacked and mocked "jesus jesus" they said in rideculing voices and it was not very nice as I had done no wrong or harm to them.

The world needs more love not more hate and rideculing , mocking someone just for being religious is a waste of energy that could be used in much nicer manner.
I dont forse my beleif on to others.
I have friends from all different religions and cultures and atheists but we behave respectfully and lovingly to eachother.

Thing is if one does "turn the other cheek" , ignore or kindly ask to stop behaviour of badness sometimes they follow you and actually violate etc.
I have experienced this.When one has done no wrong and just wants to live in peace but is hated upon for no justifiable reason.

Lovebombs a better bomb ;)

Respecting that someone has a different view (however wrong I think it is) does not mean I am compromising my belief. It simply means, I can listen to their views, but never will I have to believe and accept their view. Which is why,as stated on my post prior, that I will let them speak, listen to what they have to say, after they are done and over with speaking, I will then state my opinion, and then close the conversation.

If you firmly believe that in stating matters involving truth, respecting others view is not acceptable, then that is your opinion, and I respect that you have your own opinion.

Atheists don't literally believe in nothing. They only believe in what they can see. They can see the money, they can see the machine, and if they had a lot of free time on their hands they could open the machine up and see how it works.

If I had been the man at the soda machine I would have walked away too.
 
Athiests know everything about nothing and call it reality. Like someone said earlier... they only believe in what they see. It's one of the most foolish things to accept... because reality will never be based on what you can see. What you see may have a correlation with certain things but it will never be truth. How to deal with them? The best thing would be prayer because Atheists are very confused about life. Prayer and also I'll pm you later some info on how to deal with them specifically.
 
You deal with an atheist by using a few of the spiritual works mercies, 1. Counsel the doubtful 2. Instruct the ignorant 5. Forgive offenses

I agree with you to a certain point. They believe what they can see, but also base their future actions on prior knowledge. Clearly the man had put money into a similar, if not that exact same machine, before and aquired a soda. With said previous knowledge he can deduce that if he were to put more money in more soda would come out. Its almost like the little assumptions that we unkowingly make everyday. Before you step out of your house you don't check the ground to make sure it's still solid, with the exeption of the mentally ill, you just walk out based on previous knowledge and the assumption that it is exactly the same as previous days.

Agreed, and something I should have added to my statement before is they they base their knowledge on things that can be verified or at least have enough evidence to support it. There is a small element of faith involved at times, but not in a religious or spiritual sort of way, more of a "past experience" kind of thing. They don't check to make sure the ground is there when they step outside because their past experiences have taught them it's always there, and they can look at the deed to the house and verify that they did not in fact buy an area of property overlooking a gaping abyss lol.

Sort of, however in that sense it wouldn't neccessarily be faith more so.... evidence i guess. Like you said, they can look at the deed to the house. Faith is more of a belief without much evidence.

I'm not so sure how good of an idea it is to ignore them, we ignored Hitler for just a few years and look at what he did...
 
there is an amazing amount of evidence to support not only "a god" but "OUR GOD" I deal with an athiest by driving home all of the amazing facts I've found, Read "more than a Carpenter" by Josh McDowell and see how the top law professor at Harvard the year Harvard became the top law school could prove in a court of law that "THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST is a historical fact!!" There is a plethora of experts who have set out in their own field to disprove the bible, and then all they did was end up proving it in their own field to the point where they became amazingly strong christians themselves and wrote about what they found. This list includes, archaeologists, historians, scientists, lawyers and much much more. Good luck and God bless. Oh and the next time someone says we evolved from chimps? ask them why there are still chimps.
 
I "deal" with atheists the same way I deal with everyone else. I speak about what I know to be true in a respectful manner. Whether it is accepted or rejected is not up to me, I'm simply called to tell them. It's the Holy Spirit's job to prepare them to receive it. A lot of people who are now christians were once atheists...until they actually met Christ. Kinda hard to deny Him after that. :)

As long as they are willing to have a decent conversation, I have no problem with it. Mockery is a whole other thing, but not all atheists do this. When it gets to that point, Jesus clearly said in a couple of scriptures to move on. At that point, they have to take it up with Him. No sense getting all rattled and consumed by it.
 
they sip our spirits cause theirselves enjoyments and dont care about God. i can not communication with an atheist because dangerous secret diablotic attack. i need to a balance of control by talkin with them. they do push me into anger.
lack of their internal wisdom. really hard!
 
Just let your light shine, show love and ask God for opportunities to testify of him... and that the things they have faith in crumble before them so that they will have to seek something or more accurately someone greater to stand on...The power of God is greater than an atheist's beliefs
 
I'll choose to ignore them. Bcoz when they talk to much nonsense, i begin to get pretty angry and just make them hear what they don't want to hear.. I was talking to a guy one day, and we were arguing about Men of God, he just kept talking rubbish to the extent that i got angry and insulted his father.lol.. And really it helped, the guy just short his mouth and didn't say anything else, as a matter of fact, he agreed to what i was saying.
I know what i said about his father wasn't the best of things and i felt guilty after that, but it was the best idea i had then and I won the argument..lol... So wat i do now is just ignore them, so i don't get into such situations again ;)
 
Can't we all just agree to disagree and leave everyone's personal beliefs alone and treat it like it's none of our business since it really isn't?
 
There's two different types of "atheists" and a lot of people forget that. There's the people that are hardcore, staunch atheists that refuse to ever believe anything and often mock all world religions. Those are the ones that most people of all religions have problems with. But then there's the very typical person that just doesn't care about faith in anyway or form. THOSE are the people that typically are more likely to find Jesus.

I have friends of all religions, like almost literally all religions. And I've never ONCE had an argument or fight with anyone of them about religion.
