I ran the tin can conspiracy theory past AI. This is what the computer said:

Made me grin but thing is, they do spy on us. I am pretty techy and have 3 decent, recently built rigs along with my 2015/16, much loved and trusted, LG G5; which has never been connected to the net. It's purely used for texts, i leave it in the kitchen because i don't ever want to be a slave to it, like so many are to theirs. I'll always answer a landline call if it's a friend, however, they know not to abuse my love for them.

Think the old saying; "if it did us any good, they probably wouldn't let us have it", has a lot more truth to it than i'm cosy with.

I mean, (without counting) I'm sure I have well over 100 canned goods in my kitchen and pantry.
Heck, probably more like 200, wouldn't be surprised if it's closer to 300!

Ugh! No wonder they push and push for us to "stock up on canned goods!"
It really is a conspiracy!

People used to be more sceptical for sure, think this wise adage from a Quaker, which was the influence behind Kevin Spacey's quote in The Usual Suspects, is spot on: "One of the artifices of Satan is, to induce men to believe that he does not exist"

Personally think infantilisation and other forms of societal dumbing down, are more tools employed recently too . Along with many adults of a similar age, we had a much higher reading age than is normal now. I read Revelations when i was eight but it wasn't an exceptional thing to do back then.
