2,000 squats in one day?!?!? *gives you standing ovation*
How were your knees feeling after that?

Thank you!!

My knees feel great! I had done 1,000 in one day at a previous time. Then my dad said that I should go for 1,200. So, I did. Eventually, I got the crazy idea of doing 2,000 in one day.

At some point, I decided I needed to beef up my upperbody workouts also. I was using these machines that you sit down and pull yourself up. Everyone else had their feet on the ground, making it easier for them. Well, you know how it is for us short gals! I had to pull all of me up 'cause my feet couldn't touch the ground lol. There were 3 different machines like this, and I worked my way up to doing 4-6 reps of 50 on each machine (for a total of 200-300 on each of the 3 machines). I looked in the mirror one day and noticed my trapezius muscles were starting to look like Chris Benoit's! 😂

The only thing I have short term relationships with is my food.

I'm in long term relationships with:

My dog - 4.5 years and hopefully a few more to come.

My computer- might only be a year so far but things are working out well, and I made sure to get one strong enough to keep going for a while.

My phone - it's kind of in competition with my computer but I chose it because it was cheap and had a longer support period for updates.

My bluberry bush - it took several years and some battery acid to make that relationship fruitful, but I'm hoping it continues to flourish in the coming years.

My mint plants - they're thriving several years into the relationship

My tv - he keeps me entertained

My mattress - we're sleeping together every night and are so comfortable together

My electric tea kettle - makes tea for me all winter long to keep me warm

My couch - sometimes I think it's turning me into a potato

My car - I was driven to get into that relationship.

CC - keeps chatting me up and I keep coming back for the conversation

D'oh...

I forgot to mention pets!!! 🐈🐇🐍🧸🐑🐕🐢🐭🐥

Pets are most definitely a long-term relationship...

So how is yours going? 😁
Well I just spent a small fortune on my cats teeth so he is feeling great , eating much better so he has more energy etc . It was worth every penny to c the difference in him . I'm also still trying to catch an injured stray 🙄 . I have a new strategy which I'm going to try out for the next couple of nights . The trap I'm using has a pressure plate so that when he stands on it the door closes behind him but this hasn't been very consistent 😒 so , I'm gonna get some lamb chops , cook them and tie one to the roof of the trap so that the chop hangs right over the pressure plate . If he doesn't take this bait , I will ! Please say a prayer for him and me , I don't feel able to give up on him , he comes around a lot now and this is a dangerous area , lots of traffic and people walking their dogs , I so want to get him to a vet 😟 . All prayers appreciated ❤️

I remember when, I think it was Tango? Accidentally ate some thread 🧵 and needed surgery... 🩺

Poor little guy.

Hopefully, he's been staying out of trouble. 😎
Yeah, Tango was the one who ate the thread and needed surgery. Total cost was $4000. We paid $2000, a member of this site donated $200 and Friends of Animals picked up the rest of the tab. Fortunately, I believed that Tango learned his lesson. Still annoying at times but often amusing. Tango & Sugar bring a certain measure of joy to our lives. Both of them have been a blessing from God. So is the member that helped out.

No gas tank. No oil pan. No spark plug. No nothing. Just slap in a battery and start mowing.
I've noticed they tend to be lighter than their gas engine counterpart as well; being made of some kind of plastic. The only drawback is that you shouldn't use them in the rain; but most people don't bother mowing when it's wet anyway. I just got a leaf blower and a weed whip with electric motors and I'm not disappointed.

Yeah, no, I have zero desire to mow in the rain. The grass would clog everything up.

Hey Everyone,

I have to be honest in that I didn't quite "just enter" into my "long-term relationship" all that recently -- it's actually been about 2 months. But I'm happy to report, it seems to be going quite well!!

In early spring, I spent many a visit longingly perusing the rose plants at my local plant supply stores. I LOVE roses -- my favorite flower -- but always found them to be too intimidating. Plus, I can only have a container garden, and I wasn't sure how well I grow a rose plant that had to be kept at a certain size. However, when I saw one on sale (about 40% off,) I could no longer resist. The plant I got looked perfectly healthy -- but the blooms had run their course and were all coming apart, petal by petal. So, I took it home and have pretty much made it my baby!

It had some new buds forming even when I got it, but I am very excited that a brand-new bud is evolving, one that formed entirely while under my care! (I bet the poor thing is breathing a sigh of relief.) It produces medium-sized pink roses, BUT, that also means I only have to maneuver around medium-sized thorns.

And, I'm in it for the long haul. With cold weather fast approaching, I've already scoped out a comfy place indoors, complete with grow lights, to pamper my little darling during the winter. And, if things go well, I might gather up the courage to buy a plant with full-size roses (and full-size thorns) next year! (I saw a gorgeous purple variety that I can't stop thinking about!)

What about you?

* What kind of "long-term" commitments and "relationships" do you have going on in YOUR life?

Maybe it's a game you're trying to conquer, a piece of furniture you're trying to upholster, a recipe you're trying to perfect, a vehicle you're trying to fix. Maybe it's a sport, exercise, or dance move you're determined to improve. Maybe it's a writing, piece of art, music, or project you are trying to finish.

* How did you get involved in these activities, and what made them become "long-term" relationships instead of just one-and-done?

* Did you go into any projects/interests EXPECTING it to be long-term, but for some reason, it ended early? What happened?

* On a scale of 1-10, how much of a commitment/hassle/workload are these things you've taken on? Do you consider them to be a joy, a frustration, a challenge, or a bit of everything?

I've been thinking in particular about the things I've been able to try during my single time, but everyone is welcome to answer! :)

I always enjoy hearing what people are up to.

* What are YOU doing to keep your "relationships" spicy? (I'm trying a new watering method -- and the object of my affection seems to approve.) :)

I have not answered this post cause I am like at a crossroads, not yet settled on where God is taking me so I may not have time for pets. That's not the main reason though, I am just very scared to start what may just fail.
A dog ate my cat last year. Though I am afraid of pets🙈 I was starting to build something with this cute cat and bam! the dog ate it. my heart got broken 💔.

I just moved recently after spending 3 years traveling full time, so I'm in a newer (and hopefully longer-term relationship) with my apartment. We finally got some photos and artwork up on the walls this past week. It's just nice to finally get to come "home" at the end of the day!

And I just made 4 dozen chocolate chip cookies the other day, so you're all welcome any time! I am prepared!

Someone done said cookies, so here I am.

What were you doing that kept you on the road three years straight?

Travel nurse, so I was typically moving every 3 months or less. I loved the experience—hated the lifestyle.

Now I’m reconsidering—maybe my longest relationship has been with cookies. There’s gotta be a song for that!

I’m so sorry that happened. I’m at a crossroads, too, where it feels more scary than exciting. But I’m just reminding myself that when I feel like curling up into a ball and hiding away, that this fight is worthy—the fight for my faith, health, mind, etc. So I gotta stop living and thinking like a child in darkness (defeatist mentality)—we gotta walk as children of light because that’s what He’s told us to do! (Eph 5:8)

It’s not about “fake it til you make it.” Live in the confidence that God has already won—everything! It’s like we’re already there—it’s that sure. As long as God is winning, so am I. (1 John 5:4)

So I’m trying to stop making decisions out of my fears, but out of my faith in the God Who loves me.
