It's amazing and astonishing that a life time devout Christian could be in hell after he dies.

Yes, wow! Another verse of the song might be:

I believe that God is righteous,
the Judge of heaven and hell,
And Jesus Christ will come again
to make his people well.

Those who seek and love the Lord
will reign with Him forever,
but souls who remain dead in their sins
will end up as though they were never.
Do you really mean what you say? If Peter can denied 3 times, how many times can we denied Jesus?

There will be no lifetime devout Christians in hell.
The thief on the cross, wasn't a " lifetime devout Christian " and Jesus Himself assured the man that he would be in heaven.
Your statement here sounds too much like a "works based" religion, rather than faith based.

I should have been more specific in my statement ..
  • While the "spiritual man" has the ability to discern and judge spiritual matters, ~> 1 Corinthians 2:15 does not empower a person to judge another’s salvation or whether they will go to heaven. Judging someone else’s eternal destiny is a prerogative that belongs solely to God. As Christians, we are called to examine our own lives and encourage others in their spiritual walk, leaving the judgment of salvation to God alone.
We are called to judge in the sense of discernment. There are wolves in sheep's clothing. Those with maturity and discernment need to call them out. "Test the spirits......"
Most assuredly .. as per my "signature", calling below ~> 2 Timothy 4:2-5

Anyone can claim to be Christian. The Lord knows those who are His. Anyone who is born again has the indwelling Holy Spirit. Lord Jesus said that we know them by their fruit. There are some here who are more like lemons than grapes.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

Tell me how someone born of God can be found in hell. God will not condemn Himself.
Born of God = Born Again into Christ and His Righteousness ... You are right Brother. "Whomsoever", believes the Son of God per John 3:16, ETC. will not be found in hell.
...“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

This "born again" is crucial for our salvation & inheritance to The Kingdom of God. Our "spiritual man VS natural man" problem is that our "selfish" desire to live eternally, and our carnal / natural man character, ( prone to sin ) BATTLES with the Holy Spirit's discernment of our Justification, Sanctification, unto Glorification. => The Righteousness of Christ. ie. Romans 7 (ref. my post #25 above.)

In other word, we are prone to delude ourselves, into a false understanding & belief of salvation and our relationship with Christ. (ref. post #25)

"But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: (deludes himself), neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Cor 2:14

Why did the Holy Spirit left Saul?
You didn't read 1 Samuel 6 onwards?

Search the scriptures first before you draw a conclusion
What indication in scripture that implies that Saul ever was gifted with the Holy Spirit? None that I can see.

You seem to be the one that draws conclusions based on unwarranted assumptions.

I have read the passage you state many times. Saul indeed consulted a medium instead of relying on the guidance of God.

Search the scriptures and point out the ones that state that Saul ever had the gift of the Holy Spirit. Or not. At this point I really don't care what your perceptions are. Holier than thou types irk me.

Seems that your main purpose on this site is to cause strife. I don't intend to waste any more of my precious time responding to your warped spiritual perceptions. We are through here.

Do you ❤️ love God?

Do you ❤️ love your neighbour as thyself?

God does, and I have and do respond in Thanksgiving and praise to God over it, wow is me
Isaiah 6:1-7
Trusting God tp get through to all, and use me however God sees fit, learning this as in Luke 21:14-15 tells me this to be as in Acts 17:28, daily and not worry anymore as this world does and promotes to do that. Which causes fear in the world not fear reverence to God and today, many think they are well and might not be listening to this this world's ___________--
Which has crept into religion a lot and seems good,
2 Corinthians 11:14
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Watch out for the leaven of the Pharisees, fast forward to today, that is still out and about. Only Father can teach anyone this truth in the deceiving still going on today.
Thanks for asking, trusting you do sincerely too Love God above all first and foremost thanks

1 Samuel 16:14 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.
But the Holy Spirit does not leave those who are in Christ, because they are in Christ. Christ paid for their sins once for all. The difference between the New Testament and the Old Testament.

Desperation. He wanted Samuel back to life. Saul faced a massive army of Philistines. Saul knew that he was in trouble. Saul's heart was revealed. He consulted a medium instead of crying out to God. 1 Samuel 28.
Not sure if scripture indicates that King Saul lived a Christian life. If not, then he probably would not qualify as a Christian and therefore would not have received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

From what you are wondering about the Pope and the other religions there don't seem to be any left that would not go to hell. What denomination are you in, if any?

I believe however that all Christians are gifted with the Holy Spirit who comforts and guides us in the life-long repentance process.

Anyone who has asked forgiveness for their sins, sins which in fact Jesus paid the price for by dying on the cross and prayed for God to help them turn away from their sins in indeed a Christian.

There will not be any Christians that will be eternally separated from God. Really, that's what hell is.

The story of King Saul and his relationship with the Holy Spirit is a complex and significant part of the biblical narrative, especially regarding his anointing, fall, and ultimate fate. Whether King Saul had the Holy Spirit, whether he lost it, and what that implies about his salvation, is important to our own understanding of OUR relationship to the Holy Spirit of God. ( the following is AI generated from scripture. (emphasis added :-))

1. Did King Saul Have the Holy Spirit?

Yes, the Bible clearly indicates that King Saul was anointed by the Holy Spirit at the beginning of his reign. Saul’s initial experiences were marked by the presence of the Holy Spirit, which empowered him for leadership and victory over Israel’s enemies.

1 Samuel 10:6 (KJV): “And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.”
◦ This verse occurs when Samuel anoints Saul as king. The Holy Spirit comes upon him in a powerful way, changing his character and empowering him to lead Israel. This is an indication that Saul initially had the Holy Spirit.
1 Samuel 10:10 (KJV): “And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.”
◦ Saul not only received the Spirit but also prophesied, which was a clear sign of the Spirit's anointing and influence over him.
1 Samuel 11:6 (KJV): “And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.”
◦ The Holy Spirit empowered Saul to lead Israel in battle against the Ammonites, giving him the courage and strength to deliver the people.

These passages demonstrate that Saul initially had the Holy Spirit, enabling him to fulfill the duties of the king and lead the people of Israel.

2. Did King Saul Lose the Holy Spirit?

Yes, Scripture indicates that Saul eventually lost the Holy Spirit due to his persistent disobedience and rejection of God’s commands. His downfall was gradual, beginning with small acts of rebellion but culminating in outright defiance of God’s instructions.

1 Samuel 16:14 (KJV): “But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.”
◦ This verse marks the moment when Saul lost the Holy Spirit. His disobedience, particularly in his failure to fully carry out God’s commands (e.g., sparing King Agag and the best of the livestock in 1 Samuel 15), led to the withdrawal of the Holy Spirit.
1 Samuel 15:26 (KJV): “And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.”
◦ Saul’s rejection of God’s command through Samuel led to God rejecting Saul as king. This rejection signaled a separation from the Holy Spirit.
1 Samuel 28:15 (KJV): “And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.”
◦ By the time of Saul's final battle, he acknowledges that God has departed from him. This shows the complete withdrawal of the Spirit from Saul.

This loss of the Holy Spirit was the result of Saul’s consistent refusal to repent and obey God’s commands. God had warned him through the prophet Samuel, but Saul’s heart remained hardened.

3. Conclusion: Was Saul Saved?
Based on the biblical account it appears that Saul’s continual disobedience and rejection of God’s commands resulted in the withdrawal of the Holy Spirit and led to his spiritual downfall. While the Bible does not explicitly state that Saul is lost forever, the indications suggest that his actions and his failure to genuinely repent make his salvation highly unlikely.

“Saul’s end was the result of his own choices. He had been given numerous opportunities to repent and turn back to God, but he chose to follow his own way, rejecting God’s guidance.”

Saul’s personal choices, particularly his rejection of God’s will, led to his tragic end.
Thus, while we cannot definitively say whether Saul was eternally lost, the evidence from Scripture strongly suggest that his failure to repent and follow God’s commands led to a severed relationship with God, making his salvation highly questionable.

3. Implications for Saul’s Salvation

The question of whether Saul was saved is not definitively answered in Scripture. However, the narrative strongly suggests that Saul's rejection of God’s guidance and his persistent disobedience put his salvation in jeopardy. Let’s examine a few points:

• God’s Desire for Saul’s Repentance:
1 Samuel 15:22-23 (KJV): “And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”
▪ Samuel’s rebuke highlights that Saul’s disobedience was akin to witchcraft and idolatry. His rebellion led to God rejecting him as king. The implication is that could lead to the loss of divine favor, including salvation.

Your concept of salvation is back to front. You make it dependent on man. If that is so, then no one makes into heaven because no one is that good, including you. Good luck with trying to please God and establish your own righteousness.

My own "righteousness" is filthy rags to God. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21. My old nature is dead and buried. I am a new creation in Christ. In order for me to lose my salvation, someone would have to go back 2,000 years and stop Jesus going to the cross.

Since you make your salvation dependent on your behaviour, you have no hope. Sorry about that. But that's your choice. Most of us know that it is by grace that we are saved.
