I’ve noticed some female celebrities going out in public with armpit hair and leg hair. It’s a new “movement” for equality.
What do y’all think? As a woman it would be pretty nice if we didn’t have to shave those areas. But I cannot do it yet. It’s not widely accepted and I don’t like standing out.
As a guy would a woman having hair there affect your attraction to her?
Any other thoughts? Thought this would be a fun twist to the beard thread.
Less concerned about the action, more concerned about the ideology. Why does hair make one "equal"? Cause if we take the next step, some of you boys are going to have to teach me a new way to sit down...

We each have bodily autonomy, which means that we make our own decisions on how we groom, dress, speak, and act. What we don't get to do is demand that others approve. Whether or not a woman shaves her legs is up to her. If she makes her choice to demonstrate something to the world, it puts her attitude and her values on display (for better or worse).
A woman who boldly contravenes a (non-moral) societal norm just to prove a point might be likely to "prove her point" dramatically in other areas of life. That is going to go south at some point, when it really does matter. She might as well hold up a big red flag.

In this matter, as with so many other things, this is what it all comes down to - "Why are you doing this?" Is it just to be different, to be not-like-other-people? Is it to deliberately shock somebody? Is it because this is just what works for you? Is it because you are lazy? The action is less important than the reason for the action.
Me, I can't really talk about people doing stuff that is "not normal." I wear toe shoes, I use the world's smallest android phone, I do a lot of things people around me think are weird. But I do them because they work well for me. (If I wanted attention there are LOTS of other weird things I could do. People around me ain't seen nothing yet.)
If a woman wants to throw away her razor, I don't really care. That's her call for her legs. But if she does it just for the sake of making a big fuss, the attitude is a much bigger turn-off than the legs.

I’ve got a genuine question.
Any men on here who shave their legs, armpits, chest etc.
I’m curious because one of my brothers does shave his chest and pits. He’s a fitness instructor so is in the gym a lot.
Plus what do women think of hairy men!

I wear jeans a lot so I don’t bother with the leg, unless I’m going to wear a dress etc.
By the way you can really feel the draft when you shave your legs, I don’t think people always appreciate that leg hair keeps you warm!

If womens' reaction to scruff (chin stubble) is any indication... women LOVE hairy men!
Of course they only love them at a distance. "It's incredibly sexy, but don't ever touch me, you sandpaper face!"
Like I guess people do it as a feminist thing now? Like I understand if it's winter and you have 50 layers on so the legs and pits don't get shaved EVERY day. I've done that. Everyone's done that. But I think it looks gross without them shaved. Not because I find the idea of hair nasty, but it tends to give the general impression that you don't take care of yourself. And again sometimes you forget to shave the stache or pluck a chin hair, it's human.
I usually wear pants, so I shave my legs when I’m going to wear a skirt. As I’ve gotten older, my leg hair has gotten less visible tho. So there’s that lol.
One of the advantages to being single, is the freedom to be a chia pet on me legs. I am older and have fair hair, so I can get away with the elusive tendency to look a bit scruff a muff on me legs, lol.

Do you get dark hair if you never shave? I was curious about leg shaving and found an article that mentioned it really wasn't a thing until mid 20th century. I'm not a fan of hairy legs on women, but whether a lady wants to shave isn't any of my business. Shaving forearms seems a bit weird to me.
The comment about the statement you might be making is true. I'm more likely to think the lady has given up before thinking of it as a revolution of some sort. I guess that is me making assumptions. If you want to rebel against beauty standards, you can probably find people who are into that? They may be rebeling in their way, too. i saw a couple of green haired people this morning. I thought they were both women at first, but one of them was a guy. It was more the way he carried himself that made me think he was a woman at first. To each their own?

This is one of societies expectations that I don't mind. I'm all for shaving.

Actually, one time when injured playing football, I did have to shave my left leg around the knee so I could have it taped. Do not recommend taping over hair......sooner or later that tape has to come off..….
