So it may come as a shock, I’m 32 , and a man. My favorite show of all time is little house. The morals in encompasses and the real life tragedies that occurred. It was a show that humbled you and a show that made you cry continuously. Laura and her father’s bond could not be matched by any other on tv in my personal opinion. Shows now have no meaning or value. They don’t teach right and wrong. Little house didn’t always end with a happy ending. There wasn’t always a win. But there was love and love for god and man. The Ingalls were human, they did wrong, but they knew when, and they apologized and did there best to forgive there fellow man and neighbour. Hard times tested them. And many times they suffered.
What I loved about Little House was the humanity in every episode. It’s played world wide, reruns over and over. Lost in time it still continues to challenge me as a man. It makes me question my own forgiveness to others and my own resilience in troubled times. Could I be Pa, could I be that type of man. I’d only hope I could try to be.
Fun fact. Michael Landon ( Pa) only become the actor for that role because the one chosen did not show. Must have been god playing a part in that. I can’t imagine a better actor for the role.
Another fun fact. Michael Landon’s real life did not shine as he did as Pa. Multiple divorces and half the man in real life. We can see the struggle in Michael’s life almost shown through in each episode. It’s as if his real life mirrors his saddest moments in Little House. Anyway folks.
Do you think this was such a good show too? Or am I living in my own head haha?
