Some points I found to be surprisingly accurate (excellent written communications skills) and others were so far off it was definitely describing another person (not easily fooled.) Yeah, right. I am constantly told I'm one of the most gullible people on the planet--I just choose to pray a lot and hope God will show me what's really going on, because I usually try to believe the best in people.

I was also surpised that my classification was called "rare" (less than 1% of the population) with an "unusual set of traits." I've always said that I am an introvert to the core who can morph into or pass herself off as a semi-extrovert when needed.

My personality type is INFJ--"Turbulent Variant".

I'm thinking that a better description might be "Turbulent Mutant".

Not sure the explanation of the weakness of this type follows from the description.

'INTJs (especially females) tend to see typical attraction tactics (such as feigning disinterest) as incredibly stupid and irrational.'

If pragmatism is really the filter by which all ideas run through, then why wouldn't this apply to attraction? If attraction is the goal and observation shows that feigning disinterest is the best solution then why would the INTJ suddenly decide to go against plain reason? If the answer to "being upfront about my feelings" is "this won't work" then it seems that, by definition, an INTJ wouldn't do it, because it would be irrational to do when if it is known not to work.

So either the first quote is wrong or the second quote is wrong. Either way, I won't be able to sleep tonight knowing that I've been labelled with a logically inconsistent archetype.

This system doesn't work

I have met many INTJ's that this description seems to fit perfectly.

All the "Games" dating people play they see are silly and irrelevant. They derive the best solution to be the shortest distance between two points, not a circumnavigation of trivial jockeying to achieve the same result.

In essence that binary logic which surgically removes fluff, to digest the portion of problems at their root, is also at work in the relationship department. Not for the purpose of better navigating the games, but to invalidate their necessity to achieve the same end.

I found the OP to be very helpful and made me look at it this test differently. I'm not someone that is likely to remember the meaning of every label, so I don't think I'm one to compare mine with others or think about what others may be, but it's certainly interesting.

I had taken this before (can't remember the outcome, but I think it's similar or the same).

Add in: Perhaps, MBTI in particular isn't focused on self-development the way the The Enneagram does, so when I look at living healthier through my personality, I reflect more on the things that i have learned through it, rather than MBTI. But I use them together, sort of fluidly. This might all be super confusing to you guys. My point is, I would recommend the enneagram, IF you are looking at development. It has a Christian spiritual aspect to it that MBTI doesn't: Free Enneagram Test (scroll down). Most spiritual directors are familiar with it, so if you know any.

ok, so i've never taken the ennegram before. i accidentally had to take it twice (since if you drill down on any link, you lose your results, FYI). the first time, the top two were equal, the second time, one was slightly above the other.

which makes me an achiever (type 3) first, closely followed by the enthusiast (type 7). i actually identify more strongly with the second than the first, but whatever. the supporting ones, the helper (type 2) and the investigator (type 5) feel like very important parts of who i am as well.

what is most interesting to me is that much of what i see in the description of the "achiever" is who i was before i rededicated my life to God. at that time in my life, my career and achievement was everything to me.

in many, many ways, my achievement and career was a surrogate to other needs that weren't either addressed or met. such as, a space for me to pour my collective energies and see something happen from it, something in which no one in my life could take from me, which would provide real currency to negotiate the massive insecurities i knew.

now, it's important to me, but mostly in how it can help me leverage other things, and accomplish other goals. like, a means to my end. so, it's quite true that some of my answers still reflect the truth of THAT life. no one who knows me today would call me status driven. but do i have perfectionist tendencies? oh yes, i'm still working on that self acceptance, and will probably always be doing that.

but um, yeah, i think there's some truth to it.
