Surprise, surprise!

Your personality type: ISTJ (Assertive variant).
Breakdown of preferences: Mind - Introverted (34%), Energy - Observant (14%), Nature - Thinking (32%), Tactics - Judging (8%), Identity - Assertive (18%).
And by "surprise, surprise," I mean, not surprising at all. Because we all knew this, yeah? ^_^

The ISTJ personality type is likely to be the most popular one (around 13% of the population). “Only the facts, please” is their motto. ISTJ personalities respect facts greatly and tend to accumulate a lot of information in their own memory. One of the key contributing factors is their Observant (S) trait, which allows ISTJs to analyse the surroundings quite effortlessly.

ISTJs enjoy being responsible for their actions and love the power that stems from this. They are usually jacks-of-all-trades, which can potentially lead to many significant achievements in diverse areas. ISTJs tend to be bright, logical, and wise individuals, characterized by their desire to seek a secure and stable life.
Like other Introverted (I) and Thinking (T) personalities, ISTJs are often (mistakenly) seen as indifferent and cold. Of course, it is understandably difficult for an ISTJ to reveal their emotions or express affection, but that does not mean that they have no feelings or are insensitive.

ISTJs are not particularly good at listening to their own (and especially other people’s) feelings. Consequently, they may face difficulties when it is necessary to understand other people’s emotional needs. On the other hand, ISTJs rarely have any difficulties coping with emotionally charged situations. They can always keep a cool head and act rationally.
See? That's why I'm kind of a jerk sometimes.

Most of the time.

Okay, all the time. ^_^

I took the test again. (Out of curiosity... oh who am I kidding! It's fun)

But I did turn out to a different type.

The last time I took this test, my type was determined as INTP

Well for this test it comes out like this -

Your personality type: INTJ (Assertive variant).
Breakdown of preferences: Mind - Introverted (71%), Energy - Intuitive (22%), Nature - Thinking (26%), Tactics - Judging (12%), Identity - Assertive (9%).

So I am not exactly completely convinced about all these personality tests. Possibly these things aren't set in concrete. People change....

For example the letter that changed for me was the J thingy.

I used to not care about deadlines and was always relaxed about my options. I am starting to change that facet of myself...

SO. I think it really depends on the individual.... AAAH. I don't know.

Oh well. It's still fun :D

Surprise surprise, Bugeye is an introvert. ISTP to be exact.

Introverted (93%)
Observant (33%)
Thinking (19%)
Prospecting (10%)

Identity - Assertive (13%)

''Facts'' about ISTP that are dead on about me

- ISTPs are relatively private individuals, which makes it even more difficult for other people to tell what is really going on in their minds.

- ISTP's tend to have a very good sense of humour

-
They tend to be great engineers and troubleshooters, (Mechanical by degree)

-
In general, ISTPs tend to be very optimistic, generous, and confident in their abilities—as long as they are not pushed into a corner, burdened with rules and guidelines, or asked to commit to something they are not yet ready for. Unique and mysterious traits of this personality type may never cease to amaze people close to them, but it is also possible that ISTPs themselves will be surprised by them every once in a while.

Mind--Introverted 26%
Energy--Intuitive 14%
Nature--Feeling 60%
Tactics--Judging 31%
Identity--Turbulent 59%

Some points I found to be surprisingly accurate (excellent written communications skills) and others were so far off it was definitely describing another person (not easily fooled.) Yeah, right. I am constantly told I'm one of the most gullible people on the planet--I just choose to pray a lot and hope God will show me what's really going on, because I usually try to believe the best in people.

I was also surpised that my classification was called "rare" (less than 1% of the population) with an "unusual set of traits." I've always said that I am an introvert to the core who can morph into or pass herself off as a semi-extrovert when needed.

My personality type is INFJ--"Turbulent Variant".

I'm thinking that a better description might be "Turbulent Mutant".

Your personality type: INTJ (Assertive variant). Breakdown of preferences: Mind - Introverted (18%), Energy - Intuitive (12%), Nature- Thinking (25%), Tactics - Judging (27%), Identity - Assertive (30%).

Not sure the explanation of the weakness of this type follows from the description.

Here is one line in the description,
'Every idea that is generated by the INTJ’s mind or reaches it from the outside needs to pass the cold-blooded filter called “Is this going to work?”'

and later on, describing the weakness,
'INTJs (especially females) tend to see typical attraction tactics (such as feigning disinterest) as incredibly stupid and irrational.'

If pragmatism is really the filter by which all ideas run through, then why wouldn't this apply to attraction? If attraction is the goal and observation shows that feigning disinterest is the best solution then why would the INTJ suddenly decide to go against plain reason? If the answer to "being upfront about my feelings" is "this won't work" then it seems that, by definition, an INTJ wouldn't do it, because it would be irrational to do when if it is known not to work.

So either the first quote is wrong or the second quote is wrong. Either way, I won't be able to sleep tonight knowing that I've been labelled with a logically inconsistent archetype.

This system doesn't work

I have met many INTJ's that this description seems to fit perfectly.

All the "Games" dating people play they see are silly and irrelevant. They derive the best solution to be the shortest distance between two points, not a circumnavigation of trivial jockeying to achieve the same result.

In essence that binary logic which surgically removes fluff, to digest the portion of problems at their root, is also at work in the relationship department. Not for the purpose of better navigating the games, but to invalidate their necessity to achieve the same end.

I found the OP to be very helpful and made me look at it this test differently. I'm not someone that is likely to remember the meaning of every label, so I don't think I'm one to compare mine with others or think about what others may be, but it's certainly interesting.

I had taken this before (can't remember the outcome, but I think it's similar or the same).

Your personality type: INFJ (Assertive variant).
Breakdown of preferences: Mind - Introverted (38%), Energy - Intuitive (11%), Nature- Feeling (19%), Tactics - Judging (31%), Identity - Assertive (24%).
I will have to look into the meanings more, for better understanding.

If he can use his as an excuse to be a jerk so can i! :D

ISTPs are typically reserved and even aloof. They tend to prefer action to conversation, and are often private. People with the ISTP personality type tend to have a very good sense of humour, which may either help defuse a tense situation or make things even more complicated if the ISTP makes a joke that could be seen as insensitive. ISTPs are not naturally emotional, and they may have difficulties recognizing the boundaries of what is allowed and expected in emotionally charged situations. Consequently, they may unwittingly hurt people belonging to more sensitive types.

Not naturally emotional and have difficulty recognizing boundaries. *refrains himself from making an insensitive (to others) joke*

I can't copy and paste cuz...iPhone...grumble grumble...but here's what I got and a few discriptive words I pulled out of the profile for my type:

ISFP
Introverted- 53%
Observant- 7%
Feeling- 20%
Prospecting- 67%
Turbulent- 17%

Spontaneous, unpredictable, like to experiment, resists control, free souls, inspires others, easily stressed, prone to low self esteem, artistic, charming, passionate, curious, can become egocentric or conniving, unstructured, connect easily with people, great sense of aesthetics, very competitive in certain situations.

Hmm...
I got ISFP, too! My percentages were much lower, though. It's my first time taking any sort of MBTI test, but I always suspected I'd be pretty 'neutral' in my percentages.

ISFP:

Introverted: 35%
Observant: 6%
Feeling: 7%
Prospecting: 5%
Assertive: 16%

I didn't look at the description on the website, but I did see the description from the myers briggs website, and I was pretty mindblown at how accurate it was haha.

"Quiet, friendly, sensitive, and kind. Enjoy the present moment, what’s going on around them. Like to have their own space and to work within their own time frame. Loyal and committed to their values and to people who are important to them. Dislike disagreements and conflicts, do not force their opinions or values on others."

Add in: Perhaps, MBTI in particular isn't focused on self-development the way the The Enneagram does, so when I look at living healthier through my personality, I reflect more on the things that i have learned through it, rather than MBTI. But I use them together, sort of fluidly. This might all be super confusing to you guys. My point is, I would recommend the enneagram, IF you are looking at development. It has a Christian spiritual aspect to it that MBTI doesn't: Free Enneagram Test (scroll down). Most spiritual directors are familiar with it, so if you know any.
thanks for sharing this link persnickety!

ok, so i've never taken the ennegram before. i accidentally had to take it twice (since if you drill down on any link, you lose your results, FYI). the first time, the top two were equal, the second time, one was slightly above the other.

my results

type 1 3
type 2 5
type 3 8
type 4 2
type 5 5
type 6 1
type 7 7
type 8 2
type 9 3

which makes me an achiever (type 3) first, closely followed by the enthusiast (type 7). i actually identify more strongly with the second than the first, but whatever. the supporting ones, the helper (type 2) and the investigator (type 5) feel like very important parts of who i am as well.

what is most interesting to me is that much of what i see in the description of the "achiever" is who i was before i rededicated my life to God. at that time in my life, my career and achievement was everything to me.

in many, many ways, my achievement and career was a surrogate to other needs that weren't either addressed or met. such as, a space for me to pour my collective energies and see something happen from it, something in which no one in my life could take from me, which would provide real currency to negotiate the massive insecurities i knew.

now, it's important to me, but mostly in how it can help me leverage other things, and accomplish other goals. like, a means to my end. so, it's quite true that some of my answers still reflect the truth of THAT life. no one who knows me today would call me status driven. but do i have perfectionist tendencies? oh yes, i'm still working on that self acceptance, and will probably always be doing that.

but um, yeah, i think there's some truth to it.

Type Three - (scored 8, the highest score possible)
The Achiever
The adaptable, success-oriented type. Threes are self-assured, attractive, and charming. Ambitious, competent, and energetic, they can also be status-conscious and highly driven for advancement. They are diplomatic and poised, but can also be overly concerned with their image and what others think of them. They typically have problems with workaholism and competitiveness. At their Best:: self-accepting, authentic, everything they seem to be—role models who inspire others.

Type Seven (scored 7)
The Enthusiast
The busy, productive type. Sevens are extroverted, optimistic, versatile, and spontaneous. Playful, high-spirited, and practical, they can also misapply their many talents, becoming over-extended, scattered, and undisciplined. They constantly seek new and exciting experiences, but can become distracted and exhausted by staying on the go. They typically have problems with impatience and impulsiveness. At their Best: they focus their talents on worthwhile goals, becoming appreciative, joyous, and satisfied.

Type Two (scored 5)
The Helper
The caring, interpersonal type. Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.

Type Five (scored 5)
The Investigator
The perceptive, cerebral type. Fives are alert, insightful, and curious. They are able to concentrate and focus on developing complex ideas and skills. Independent, innovative, and inventive, they can also become preoccupied with their thoughts and imaginary constructs. They become detached, yet high-strung and intense. They typically have problems with eccentricity, nihilism, and isolation. At their Best:visionary pioneers, often ahead of their time, and able to see the world in an entirely new way.

I just did the Enneagram test...
Scored 7 on both Type 4 and Type 7, and 6 on Type 9.

Type 4-The Individualist
The sensitive, withdrawn Type: expressive, dramatic, self-absorbed, temperamental.

Type 7-The Enthusiast
The busy, fun-loving Type: spontaneous, versatile, distractible, and scattered.

Type 9- The Peacemaker
The easygoing, self-effacing Type: receptive, reassuring, agreeable, and complacent.

This stuff is pretty interesting...I'm surprised :)
