I wonder what was accomplished here ? I am exhausted from all the different
theories, learning nothing from them.

I prefer to believe my Lord is allowing me to simply love Him and make every
day a Sabbath day, because I chose to allow Christ to live in my heart, and make
Him Lord over all my life.

How confusing this OP made the Christian walk and love of our Lord. No one
person is going to believe the same as another. We each have our own
independent relationship with our Father, Savior, and Holy Spirit.

Is not the purpose of the scriptures to give us the mind of Christ and that we all think the same concerning the things of God? It is ONE faith, from ONE Lord, through ONE Spirit that we have the same mind one toward another. Let this mind be in us as it is in Christ Jesus. The principle of the church is that we are ONE body with many members that make up that ONE body. There was ONE cross that shed the blood of ONE Savior and Lamb that we believe and trust. The cleansing and justification that blood provides the sinner is the same for ALL, whosoever believes. We ALL receive the righteousness of God when we believe through ONE Spirit by ONE faith of ONE gospel. The unity of the faith is that we have no divisions in what we believe in that ONE faith that has been given unto us through the word of God inspired by ONE Spirit from ONE God and Father of us ALL.

You know what? For those who claim it is "SO CONFUSING" ... this message I gave to you...

It is not confusing AT ALL.

This Preacher was a Baptist and he found out the Truth about the 7th Day Sabbath, and he is REJOICING in it. Listen to what he said about it. Do some studying into it.... I provided you with a video about the Mark of the Beast and the Sabbath... go watch it. Its so simple a school kid can understand it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO8kVXUQ3ZU

How confusing is this?

Exodus 20:
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

It isn't that its confusing, its that you just don't want to have to do what God says. That's more like it, isn't it?

I cannot imagine what it will be like for you when you stand before God to give an account. Are you seriously going to be giving Him these LAME excuses for disobeying Him? I doubt it.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

If you are confused, go watch these two videos. One is on the 10 Commandments and the other is on the 7th Day Sabbath:

Hebrews 7:12 (NASB) [SUP]12 [/SUP]For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.
Hebrews 7:12 (NLT) [SUP]12 [/SUP]And if the priesthood is changed, the law must also be changed to permit it.

Jesus is a high priest after the order of Melchisedec, NOT Aaron or the tribe of Levi! We are no longer under the law of Moses. We are now under the law of Christ.

Hebrews 5:6 (KJV) [SUP]6 [/SUP]As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 5:10 (KJV) [SUP]10 [/SUP]Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 6:20 (KJV) [SUP]20 [/SUP]Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 7:11 (KJV) [SUP]11 [/SUP]If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

Hebrews 7:15 (KJV) [SUP]15 [/SUP]And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

Hebrews 7:17 (KJV) [SUP]17 [/SUP]For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 7:21 (KJV) [SUP]21 [/SUP](For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec

I'm just going to keep posting this until one of you can tell me you are keeping the Sabbath!

Then there's the rest of the laws concerning the Sabbath (seventh) day:

1. No work done at all (Ex. 20: 10; Lev. 23: 3; Jer. 17:21-22). No watering the lawn, no working in the yard, no hobbies, no surfing, no fixing flat tires, etc. By law if a person did not stop all types of activity in honor of the Sabbath, he was breaking the law. In Numbers 15:32-36 a man was caught collecting sticks on the Sabbath, and he was stoned to death.
2 No kindling of a fire (Ex. 35:3). No fellowship cookouts or barbecues. You can't go into a restaurant and get a hamburger that's been flame broiled, you can't cook eggs, or pancakes in the morning because you'd be kindling a fire for cooking. To drive a car would be to "kindle a fire" In the combustion chamber of your engine.
3. No traveling at all (Ex. 16:29). Later the Jews added to this law, allowing only a half mile of travel on the Sabbath which we see observed in the NT. But the pure law says "stay at home." Actually, If you kept this part of the law, you could not travel to your church gathering unless it was less than one-quarter mile away from home. If you had an emergency you could not drive to the hospital.
4. No trading (Amos 8:5). If you happened to need gas to get to church service, you could not "trade" money for gasoline. You would not be allowed to buy a cassette tape of that morning's message or a book at the store. There is to be No exchanging of money for goods. If you worked with stocks and you needed to sell you couldn’t.
5. No marketing (Neh. 10:31; 13:15,19). Make sure you do no shopping whatsoever. You can't buy any ice cream for dessert after dinner or anything else. If you run out of food or drink at home you can’t go out to purchase any, you can’t even by a stick of gum.
6. A holy assembly with double the daily offering along with the other offerings. In other words, you are to give twice as much on the Sabbath (Num. 28:9).Do we practiced this today In compliance with Old Testament law. Do Sabbatarian's really practice the law? I have yet to see people go to Shabbat and give twice as much each week.
7. New showbread In the holy place (Lev. 24:8). Of course this cannot be done today since there is no temple, so this part of the Sabbath cannot be followed by the church. The fact Is the Sabbath was not made for the gentiles, but for the Jews and their generations (Ex. 31:12-17). It's a law given between God and the Jews.
8.The last part of the requirements for keeping the Sabbath day law Is the penalty for breaking It. DEATH

So, which of you are keeping the Shabbat of the 10 commandments?

But you see, redtent somehow I see you in the edge between this. Yes as we both agree that the Sabbath was made for us, and its beneficial right? Why would such a command accuse a believer for benefiting it on another day? Either way they are both helpful as God intended right?

But then this is where we cut off ends. You believe it must only be on the Sabbath. This statement is a contradiction to the one above. Your making sound like we are made for the Sabbath, so it must be on this specific day. I don't know how I can break that down redtent.

Jesus is the Lord, He has every right to change the whole covenant of the old and make it new. That's when He speaks as the "Lord of the Sabbath."

Jesus gave us examples of those who break it for the better of good, because it's not really broken...you see?
I think you have it right about our differences. I think if we accept scripture, we must accept that God gave a special blessing to one day, Exo_20:11 For the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and everything in them in six days; then He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and declared it holy.

If we love the Lord and put the Lord first in our lives, it seems to me we must treat this day as a holy day. Christ gave us instructions about how to do that.

actually if you read it, Jesus was meaning that external practices should give way for moral righteousness. That's why I posted the scripture quoted and then from that exact passage. He desires compassion over a external ordinance.
I think you are adding to what Jesus was talking about. You are saying it is 'moral practices' when Christ was saying love must enter in to the day God made holy. If we do something unloving, it is not honoring the holy day.

I wonder what was accomplished here ? I am exhausted from all the different
theories, learning nothing from them.

Isn't it a wonder how man can make simple truths mean so many different things to them? Scripture is so simple, we just need to accept all of it and let it fit together. God created the world to include a day God made Holy. God did that, it can't be changed by humans. We are to treat it as a holy day with a special blessing other days of the week doesn't have. God sent His son so when we don't live exactly as God told us to we can be forgiven. Very simple. If we love God and His Son, and accept the Holy Spirit God sent, we will walk in His ways and accept that God blessed a day in the week that God made holy. That these simple facts can be pulled and stretched into something different by born again Christians must be bewildering even to our Lord.

I follow the 4th commandment as God wrote. I don't do a lot of what you listed as it can be done ahead on Friday. Common sense has to be used. God said if the ox is in the ditch you would not leave it there to suffer. People try to make the Sabbath much harder to observe than God's instructions were. 10 simple commandments from God and you would think the sky was falling to try to honor God's request. Which can only be done through Christ Jesus but no one ever hears what I am saying or what God was asking.

To properly observe the sabbeth also means to do nothing that would cause others to work.
I asked this before and no one answered so I will ask again.
Do you watch tv, use your electric lights, use your city water or sewer, use your heat or air, use your pc, use your phone?
If you do, you are forcing others to work.
Would this not be hypocritical?

Gal 4:21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Heb 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

That is the way the Pharisees kept the sabbath, they made legalistic. Jesus showed us how to properly keep the sabbath. He healed the sick on the sabbath, allowed his hungry disciples to pick and eat corn on the sabbath (Luke 6:1-11). In verse 9 Jesus covers how you should keep the sabbath. Remember the Pharisees were enemies of Christ. Sadducee, Pharisee, Holy See all changing God's law, all denying Jesus in some way.

And today's Pharisees (those who deny that Jesus is the Messiah) reject the one day in seven observed by the disciples, and by the vast majority of Christians for over 1900 years.

Wow, there sure are a lot of christians advocating that the devil did nothing wrong in heaven. Bottom line is this, Jesus kept the Sabbath, his disciples kept the sabbath (before and after His death), the gentiles (non-Jews) kept the sabbath, we keep the sabbath in heaven. The devil, the Pharisees, and the Roman Catholic church and some of her Protestant daughters do not keep the sabbath. Now which side are you going to choose???

Just shows you where the OP is truly at; it didn't take much. Starts some accusing thread, some people disagree so chucks a wobbly wants to leave and have their threads deleted and I'm meant to take on board what they have to say when they get so shaken up when opposed? These are the kind of people you turn away from.

GregoryC, you say that the sabbath was made for "the Jews." How could this be when it is a fact that when the fourth commandment was given there were no Jews. "Jews" (i.e., the Judah portion of Israel) did not come upon the scene until over 1000 years after Abraham. Please, get your history straight lest you build another error upon the first.

It wasn't legalism that Christ told about so we would know the right way. It was obeying without their heart. All of our obedience must be from the heart to our doing, neither can be left out.

We do not have to fulfill nor are we obligated to fulfill the law where Jesus has already fulfilled it. That does not mean that we live in sin or that we transgress the law. What is does mean is that we abide in Christ because we have the Spirit within and the grace we need to love God, ourselves and our neighbor or fellow man. RedTent I asked you some specific questions about keeping the Sabbath and you will not or refuse to answer them because of what it might reveal about what you believe and how you treat the grace of God. IS IT A TRANSGRESSION AND AN UNRIGHTEOUS ACT IF I DO NOT KEEP THE SABBATH AS THE LAW PRESCRIBES? IF I DO NOT KEEP IT AND IT IS SIN OR A TRANSGRESSION, DID THE BLOOD OF CHRIST PAY FOR THAT TRANSGRESSION OF NOT KEEPING THE SABBATH AND DO I NEED TO REPENT OF MY TRANSGRESSION AND BEGIN TO KEEP THE SABBATH AS PRESCRIBED BY THE LAW?

You and others flee these kind of questions because you are afraid to answer them objectively or you do not understand what Christ did when he fulfilled the law and put us under grace. If I asked you if committing adultery or stealing was a transgression of the law you would not hesitate to tell me that it is and that I would need to confess my sin and repent. It is the same for not keeping the Sabbath?

I had no idea that I was fleeing in total fear!! Or that you were looking to ME for answers to the questions God asks of you. Frankly, I am only one of a million people, and if I don't report what God says correctly, then I am worse than no one. Your question is certainly not clear. You know perfectly well that we are all sinners, and Christ was sent to us for that reason. God says to honor one day in the week as a special day that is especially holy, that is what God says. When we don't do as God says then it is a sin, and we need to repent and go to Christ for His grace. I have nothing to do with that, God is the one you need to go to for answers.

Yes, It has became a sin when the law was place and making you aware of that you are doing wrong, but if your parent remove it, then you are not a sinner anymore, but you realize now, that you were a disobedient person that needs help to learn how to be obedient at the time (And which we all need a obedient training collar for our necks). I'm going to use this as an example; If God told you as an 3 years old child to love everyone unconditionally, but as a child, you will do it with no problem. Like children, they doesn't see the things as we see them. If a person is a Liar, they wouldn't careless and will still love them (And so God can't test them to see if they can love someone unconditionally), but if they has grown and see what has happen when someone lies, then it will be hard for them to forgive them, because they has seen the works of lying and what it can cause, and so it made them aware of it. And now God can test them to see if they can love someone unconditionally that they do not know. All God is trying to do is to make us aware of sin first, and then see if we still can love a sinner as He has done, and to show us what He has done for us by forgiving. Back then the people heart were hard and didn't take sin seriously. One moment they can hate someone, and the next moment they are drinking buddies. So can anybody love their enemies? That take great power and understanding to able to do that; but if we weren't aware of sin, yes we can forgive.

All I know Brother is God loved me first, and I do not deserve this Mercy. So in response I love all the same way as God does through Son in Mercy. As even when Christ said forgive them Father for they do not know what they do, you think this is a good response to automatically forgive, in response to that we are forgiven by God through the Son, being wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove
What condemns and what gives life is the ? needed to be asked, you think?

That has nothing to do with the Sabbath of the Lord. It is talking about food.

In that same Chapter it is written this: Which shows it deeper than food

Romans 14:6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

Jesus is the Lord every day is he not or just one day a week in your life. A Thursday night sinner and a Friday night repenter one day a week. Or by Christ we are forgiven, made holy and acceptable to Father, and every day is now at rest in his finished work for us?
