How many spider webs do you walk through on your morning walk?

I swear, every time I go on a morning walk, I at least walk through 3 spiderwebs, one being in our driveway between our car and our front yard bush.

What do you hear and see on your morning walk?

Do you go on a morning walk?

If not, why not?

Just before turning age 38, i. started having heart issues, so now, one of my main goals is to get the healthiest I can possibly get. (healthy BMI, perfect blood pressure, perfect cholesterol levels, toned/muscular physique, etc..

I visited the ER by ambulance, maybe a week or so ago, and they tested just about everything about me. Apparently, I have excellent scores when it comes to cholesterol, heart health (besides having AFib), and blood pressure. I'd like to get to a healthier BMI, as well as a toned/muscular physique.

When I was younger, I played just about every sport you can think of and was gifted/blessed in that area. Over time, I really let myself go because I was always chasing success on a computer....I recently deleted all social media accounts, except for YouTube, as I believe that social media is very detrimental to our psyche and health, and is probably the reason why there is a mental health crisis in the world, currently.

Anyways, this is just a random thread, with random thoughts. (miscellaneous forum)

But seriously, how many spider webs do you walk through on your morning walk?

I don't do morning walks currently but I hope to start soon. I try to avoid spider webs because they have a nasty little guy called the brown recluse spider and if he bites you you are in some serious trouble. The last two days it has snowed here and that has not made me happy. lol But the trees have suddenly budded out and so it's starting to look like spring. The older I get the more I could do without the cold weather, the heavy coats and boots. I thought I had moved far enough south to get rid of the snow but I think it followed me! But we do have a rabbit that's in our backyard nibbling the grass so I take that as a good sign that spring is going spring soon. How is that for random thoughts? lol Have a blessed day!

This spider web question is so unique!!

Very cool, and kudos to you @YouOnlyLiveTwice.

@CarriePie would approve because there seems to be a lot of spiders where I live, and you never know when you'll see a web. Because there are so many of them, some are able to survive throughout the day.

I used to love taking morning walks around the neighborhoods I live in, but unfortunately, there are so many homeless in this area, I don't feel safe going alone.

The complex where I live is relative small and doesn't have much walking area, but when I do make the short hike, it's very common to see spider webs (and sometimes, the web's creator) along the outdoor railings. I'm a big fan of spiders because they eat the pesky, annoying insects that always find and bite me. But like @ThereRoseaLamb said, I keep my distance just in case it happens to be a dangerous species.

One day I saw the most incredible thing -- there was a side branch on a mid-size, fully grown tree that a spider must have fancied, because it had strung a line from the tree branch to the railing that must have been at least 3 feet away. The astonishing thing is that the webbing was so strong, the whole branch was securely fastened to and pulled toward the railing, leaning at probably a good 60 degree angle.

It was amazing to see just how powerful God made spider webbing in action, considering that spiders are such tiny little creatures.

I also love spider webs in wagon wheel patterns, and will stop to check them out every time I see one.

Awesome thread idea, and may God bless you on your journey to good heath (and an amazing bride!) :D

I'd like to mention that the lovely spider webs that you see outside are not created by dangerous spiders. Orb spiders are not dangerous to humans. Brown recluse spiders do no build the traditional webs that you see outside. If a brown recluse builds a webs it's just a bit of a messy thing that is inside in a recluse area (you probably wouldn't even notice where it is) and it's not for the purpose of capturing prey. Brown recluse are roaming spiders, they are not orb weavers.

Thank you so much @seoulsearch for your compliment and also your respect of spiders!

How many webs do I run into? Usually none, because I go around them, limbo under them, or there have been times I have even moved a web. I do this so I won't disturb their lovely, meal catching web. Sometimes a night orb will build a web in my doorway. If I can't limbo under her web (it's the females that build the elaborate webs) I will carefully move the tendrils over if possible. I've done this a number of times and she usually just leaves it that way. I'm very careful though, not to mess up the web any more than I have to. One morning, I just didn't even leave the house because I didn't want to disturb the orb spider. I didn't have to go anywhere that morning anyway lol.

Thank you again @YouOnlyLiveTwice for the morning walks! I used to walk an hour every evening, plus I did strength training workouts often. After dad died, my activity became sporadic. It's good to get back at it again! Looking forward to continuing our health journey together!

We had an unseasonable snowfall here in NE Tennessee a couple days ago. A couple inches. The daffodils and tulips seemed to make it through unscathed. High 60's currently, with the predicted high of 82 on Sunday with complete sunshine.

I used to walk all of the time but haven't in the last 10 years or so. Do enough walking at work. In Michigan I lived close to a real active railroad track. Used to walk on it all of the times and hopped off if a train came through. Walking provided a sense of comfort for me. Talked to God a lot.

The azaleas were beautiful here and loaded with buds, but it got below freezing and now the bush is all brown. It'll spring back though.
Sean got me outta bed this morning for our morning walk. I think it was 32. Brrrr, but not too terrible. I've been wearing a Bass Pro hoodie this winter and those things are the warmest hoodie I've worn. Anyway, this isn't an advertisement lol. I'm just glad I said yes to getting out for a walk. I saw/heard a pileated woodpecker right when I stepped out the door, plus many birds along the way including lovely bluebirds 🐦

Yeah, I truly hope to not get bitten by a brown recluse. I usually am bundled up but my forearms are usually exposed and a small portion of my calves, so those areas could potentially be bitten up, not to mention my face or back of my neck.

Thanks for sharing your random thought @ThereRoseaLamb

Have a blessed day/weekend

Thanks for always sharing such a well thought out post @seoulsearch

That mid-sized branch spider, I would have thought that was the same spider that but Peter Parker aka Spiderman.

Now that i’ll be married to a spider lover, I really got to get use to treating them well. So far I didn't kill 2 of the ones that were in my house, out of 3, and made sure to send videos of the ones I didn't kill, to @CarriePie , so it was a little getting used to at first.

Thanks for the well wishes on our marriage and my good health.

God bless you.

You are so knowledgable @CarriePie about those creatures (that I've been killing since I was a kid, I apologize and will make up for it :*)
I hope our morning walks are just the beginning of our health journey…i’d love to maybe walk/run a marathon with you, have our own gym at our place (I have a lot of the equipment already), and eating healthier would be great as well, I know it's more than just exercise and eating right though.

I don't do morning walks but , I go out late at night and very early in the morning to feed my local stray cats . I live in the middle of a large town , I've seen and heard many wonderful things , blackbirds singing in the dark , foxes barking , rats scurrying and there has been a large spider web wrapped around the light on the lampost outside my flat for decades . It's huge and the lampost shining on it illuminates it beautifully . I'm also in a great place to c Mercury and Venus and the moon . Just over from me is a small public park in the centre of my town and there r often a few homeless people sleeping on the benches there 😞 .

All I read was “a great place to c Mercury and Venus” figuratively speaking. (Of course I read the whole post)

Very very cool @Suze

What a treasure seeing those planets must be.

Over where I live, there are so many lights, illuminating in the streets and houses, that the light pollution makes it so we can’t even see the stars at night…I think if anyone wants to see the stars at night, they would have to get a telescope or drive out to the desert, otherwise I think we are just viewing air planes and satellites in the sky over here.

Yes i can c them easy with the naked eye , I live in a town centre but it's quiet at night now and there r street lights but not many . It used to b so busy here at night but that was last century . The UK is going through some very major social changes this century . There used to b lots of pubs and clubs and places to go at night but with the smoking ban , big price rises and the economic recession and of course the rise of the internet , this country is just like a big ghost town now .

There was one spider last year who kept insisting on making a web right where I walk around the corner of the garage. I named him Charlie just so I would have something to call him when I walked through his web. "Aaack! Doggone it Charlie!"

Sometimes he would skip a day, just to give me hope that he had moved on. And just to make it even more surprising when I walked through it the next day. I swear he was up there on the wall laughing at me.

Being in Los Angeles County, where there is people everywhere, UK might sound like paradise for a lot of the citizens who may not like traffic or the homeless population here.

That is very funny @Lynx

I wouldn’t think of naming a spider but I might have to start doing that now.

Yesterday on my morning walk, I finally didn't go through any spiderwebs.

i guess it doesn't happen every time....just the last few weeks.

i wonder if that is because it is Spring time now? Not sure....spider expert? @CarriePie what do you have to say about this?

I walk 6 miles daily, 3 of those miles in early morning. For health reasons i started doing walks and will keep doing them. Spiders are not bad yet but as it warms up more they will be out mostly in the woods.
I do spring mushroom hunting for morels and spider webs across the face is all part of being out in the great wilds, Not much you can do about it. Enjoy your walks. :)
