I almost was led astray for a few months, by the false prophet Kenneth Copeland, when I was first Saved. THANK GOD, he let me see through that phoniness. Ever since then, I have been discipled by some of the best Bible teachers in the land.

Not even considering the Pastors that I sat under their teaching, I have to give the credit to these men that taught me through the Radio and TV Ministries:

Dr. John MacArthur, Jr. - http://www.gty.org/ sermons dating back to the early 70s - free to listen to.
Dr. Adrian Rogers - http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/love-worth-finding/
Dr. Charles Stanley - http://www.intouch.org/
Dr. Richard Lee - http://www.firstredeemer.org/
Dr. Zola Levitt - http://www.levitt.tv/media/watch/118 - some free - videos
Dr. Ed Young - http://www.winningwalk.org/t-bio.aspx
Dr. Gil Rugh - http://www.ihcc.org/ - free sermons dating back to the late 70s - free
Dr. Chuck Swindoll - http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/insight-for-living/
Dr. Walter Martin - https://www.blueletterbible.org/audio_video/martin_walter/
Dr. Ben Haden - http://changedlives.org/WHY
Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost - http://www.dts.edu/read/dr-dwight-pentecost-dies-age-99/

Therefore, I am so thankful for GOD leading me to listen to those Bible Teachers.
Adrian Rogers...still listen to his sermons!

The reality is salvation is through faith and those who profess to know God must continue in the gospel until the end, which is what salvation is!. So ofcourse those who fall away will be damned.... and yes they were never truly saved to begin with, because salvation is from God not Man, its forever.

Jacob i loved, Esau i hated (wrath) Romans 9:16, declared God when talking about salvation, its God's salvation.

Some people say.... oooh thats not fair etc etc... says who? whats fair is that we all go into eternal hell, can't God be gracious?
" Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated wasn't said of these two men before they were born, but long after they died.

God hated the descendants of Esau because of their unbelief, and loved the descendants of Jacob because of their faith.

God shows you that the gospel is true. That's called 'faith', the "evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1 KJV).
That's God's part. And the way he gives you the 'evidence of things not seen' is through the testimony of the Holy Spirit in our heart (1 John 5:6-11).

After that, you have the responsibility to respond to the irrefutable evidence God gives you with your trust. That's your part.
That isn't earning salvation, that's you believing what you heard. The believing you do in response to what God shows you to be true is what justifies you.

Romans 4:5 KJV
"to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness"

Most people do not place their trust in Jesus in response to the 'evidence of things not seen' given to them by the Holy Spirit. They continue on in their old, unchanged lives and they are lost. Though some of them think they are saved because they think that just knowing the gospel of Jesus and salvation is true saves them. But they never put their trust in what they heard, or they later stop trusting in what they heard, and they remain unchanged and unsaved while they play the church game. The unchanged life is the sign of this kind of 'believer'. They are hypocrites. Their place will be in the place of weeping and gnashing of teeth, not the kingdom they are sure they possess. If they were really trusting in Christ, they would be living in a new life growing in holiness, not living in a life of 'religious' hypocrisy.

Matthew 24:42-51 KJV
42Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

45Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48But and
if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

These people who think they can go back to their old life of sin and unbelief and still be saved because once they are saved they are always saved are fooling themselves. If they don't come back to Christ (or truly trust in him for the first time, which ever is the case) they will go to the place of hypocrites where there will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Falling away and thinking you are still saved (assuming you really were) because you think once saved always saved is true is sweeping many in the church away to their eternal destruction.

I haven't had time to respond to one of your last posts. And I will as time allows. But in the meantime, if you would be so generous as to point out particular items in my last post the you don't agree with and we'll talk about them. That's why I use forums. I have found that truth is found when you hear everything about a subject, not just the carefully controlled and narrow rhetoric of a single denomination. And when I hear something that's true that I did not know before I adjust accordingly. I've been doing this for years so I'm pretty far down the path. That doesn't mean I don't still have a long path ahead of me. :giggle:

Every now and then I stumble across people in forums who have latched onto the same things in the Bible that I have and I'll be reading their posts and I'll be like, "when did I make this post", and I'll see it's somebody else saying the same things I would say. Which amazes and encourages me all at the same time.

I personally do not find wrong doctrine very encouraging.

Oh and I will go back to your last post as time permits.... lots to correct there!!

Let leave church out of it ... it is not relevant.

Spiritual growth comes a lot through trials and challenges.
Acts 14:22 KJV
strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations
enter the kingdom of God.”

Not directed at you, star, but I doubt Paul is saying salvation is by works, but that is what many people call it if you say what Paul said above.

It's encouraging when you find out the doctrine you were sure was wrong, because you didn't start out in it, is actually the truth.

Oh and I will go back to your last post as time permits.... lots to correct there!!
Yes, please, do that!
Just don't use empty arguments like, "nuh huh, that's not true."
Show me from the Bible what you base your doctrine on.
I will respect that, even if I don't agree with it.

Let leave church out of it ... it is not relevant.
That would need it's own thread.
I don't want to discourage pastors, but they are too busy being pastors, and stuck in the narrow indoctrination of their particular denominational training to have enough time and openness to other's teachings to know and teach the truth themselves. And we'll just leave it at that. At least until I or somebody else starts a thread about that. I would but I don't have the time that I thought I would have to be in online forums.

It does not get any plainer..........Our righteous works have ZERO to do with Salvation!

English Standard Version
he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Berean Study Bible
He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Berean Literal Bible
He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

New American Standard Bible
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

King James Bible
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
O it is not by works we r saved but faith without works is dead as it is written for if we do not abide in Him He does not abide
