.It is apparent to me that you haven't come close to hitting rock bottom with this yet because if you had, you would be so disgusted with the control that porn has on you that you would do anything that it takes to quit.

Whoever said I didn't hate this. I know the damage it can do. That kinda has a lot to do with getting this taken care of.

You've already said you've been struggling with this since seventh grade, you are now 24. That's over 10 years that your way to recovery hasn't worked, yet somehow you still expect that your way is going to bring you success.

Yeah, that's because I was trying to beat based off of my own goodness. But trying to be right on your own only births more sin. Romans 7:5–8 I've been trying to a new method over the past few months. One where I'm on relying on Jesus to do the work. Matthew 11:28 I do still screw up, but I've notied that the times inbetween the screw ups have gotten longer.

As I have read through numerous threads
over a period of time that you post in, I can guarantee that your porn addiction, obsession with finding a woman, and inability to interact with women in a normal social situation are all related to the root emotional issue. Deal with the emotional issues and the rest will fall into place.

I know it is, and It's connected to my need for fellowship, not being lonely, and actually a fear of never having sex(after marriage of couse).

You quite obviously missed the part about doing ANYTHING that it takes to quit. If you were 100% serious about kicking this, you wouldn't be able to reply to this because you would have pulled the plug on your internet already. An alcoholic that is serious about quitting doesn't go to the bar, and a man that is serious about kicking the porn habit doesn't get online.

Dot, I hate to say it, but you ARE NOT serious about this because your lack of action speaks considerably louder than your words. As I said, I know your type all too well I've dealt with dozens of men just like yourself. Obviously I cannot change you or the way you choose to deal with your addiction, but I can choose to no longer waste my time offering the wisdom of experience and age with one who doesn't want it. I wish you the best.

Jullianna: sorry for bumping this thread to the top again.

Time and again people including myself have given you suggestions as to things that will help you to begin to gain total victory but you choose to reject that help and continue to wallow along doing things the same way you always have thinking that somehow it's going to change.

That's over 10 years that your way to recovery hasn't worked, yet somehow you still expect that your way is going to bring you success.

Agreed 100%

Anyways since this tends to come from sex. Or usually when I worried about girlstuff(Like sitting on a seat and the being like what if I sat on girlstuff, or really just random girlstuff + evirenment) It tends to make think about. Which causes this type of problem. >_<

Like I said, had another fear like this. And there was definaitly a increased chance of looking.

It destroys from the inside. I must admit I did watch some, but now it's over, all you gain from this is guilt, and you feel bad, and it keeps you from waiting until you get married. that's all it does

Unfortunately, porn is addiction ( nothing better than alcohol - and dug addiction).

What makes pornography such a potent addiction (especially under men) is:

1. Rejection and no self-esteem. When a a guy has low paid job (or no job), didn't completed high school (or just barely scraped through in the final year), getting rejected and hurt by a very close female friend(s)/girlfriend(s), the feeling off: " I am loser", " I should rather be dead - I don't have any purpose in life", " no girl wants me, because: I am poor, not handsome enough and dumb! That's why I watch porn."

2. Hatred: Bad rolemodels (mother and/or sister(s) ). Some guys, being "polluted" over a long term ( with hatred), become rapist or even serial killers. These guys can't seperate right from wrong - unfortunately "they" are mentally completely messed-up.

3. Animal instinct. Every straight guy is a hot red blooded creature with the "huting" instinct inside him (chasing a woman and flirting with her). Unfortunately, pornography can cause immaturity and produce a false/cheap image of women.

4. Evil forces. Sex is a great gift from God, but Satan (and the new world) corrupted this. Everything that God made good, satan created the opposite. Lucifer rebelled against God...

I think so too. God kinda opened my eyes to something last night (all week actually), so I'm trying to change my life accordingly. I had some questions about a matter that greatly affected my day-to-day life. A few people were godly and wise enough to understand that and responded in ways that were very helpful, but a couple of others apparently saw my questions as no more than an opportunity to debate, be condescending and sarcastic. I was more than a little taken aback in learning that something that deeply affected a child of God could be looked upon as just another topic in a chatroom. I don't want to see that happen to dot anymore. :)

I think the same happens here sometimes. dot and a couple of others are really wrestling with this issue and there are times when we are impatient with them just because WE don't want to read threads like this or take the time to listen/encourage/pray, no matter how long it might take to help them, you know? It might be repetitious and obnoxious to us, but it's a big deal to them. And if it's life-affecting for them, it's important to God, and, therefore, it should be important to us as well.

I'm talking to myself here, but if this helps someone else too...great! :)

We're with you, dot. Some of us are women and we don't get it sometimes, but that doesn't mean we don't care or don't want to help! Praying for ya! :)
i agree wth you julianna some people have this addiction and they either dont want to admit it ; but if you do admit it on this thread there should be open arms compassion and understanding for that person and also praying your a very sweet and godly lady julianna im glad your my friend ; please keep me in prayer ok im struggling in the friendship dept and trust

I have watched porn in the past. I had movies that I threw away. Once I became divorced porn started coming to me through people that I know that felt it necessary to show me things on their cellphones. I stopped looking at other peoples cells . I felt like they were unknowingly trying to lead me back into darkness. On the other hand God shaped our bodies to be arousing to each when seen naked(heterosexual men and women). I've always enjoyed the curvacious shapes of women. I must confess that i discovered free porn on google. I found some of it comical, degrading at times, disgusting, pathetic and sad, which is a turn on for many of you lol. But then when I needed Him, God rescued me and guided me to Christian Chat. I enjoy this a whole lot better than porn. Anyway these days if its not of God I try to stay away from it .

Honestly I think Porn is cheap and there are no feelings there between the man and the woman doing it and it just looks like a perverted circus act to me. Oh and the guilt you feel from letting it sear your eyes afterwards is way worse then the fleshy pleasure one may find in Porn. I say find your mate God has for you and stick to making love.

i remember the first time i looked at sexually provocative content. (by choice)
the next day i got into a car accident that ended up costing 14,000 in repairs.
no one was hurt. but i figured since the thought popped into my mind, i would mention...

that when we choose to sin? we step out from under God's covenant protection over our lives. he cannot bless us. He cannot cover our unrepentant sins. only our repented ones.

bless y'all. may you find freedom in every area and may we CHOOSE His righteousness bc it is the only good place to dwell.

Maybe once or twice a month.. But last 3 times I just got sick by how fake that buissenes is and what its doing to our and the actors minds... It looks so ridicilous

Yeah I have and i pretty much trying to stop but it is an addiction (like drugs) and it defiantly is a hard thing to give up once you start it so word of advice don't fall for the temptation of it

Failed again. Or atleast I think it was a falure. Basically it was female refrence pics, not porn. Basically, I'm trying to get back into art(3D modeling), and failed while looking for refernce pics to make a model of a woman.

Father, we have talked, and talked, and talked about this. Clearly talking won't cut it. Father, we ask YOU to do the talking here. We ask YOU to bring healing and revelation into this darkness. We ask YOU to set those held captive to porn free and to give them the genuine desire to BE FREE! We know Your heart and we know Your power. Set dot free from this darkness. Do it in any way You see fit, Lord. We love dot. You love dot.
We are tired of seeing this smut overtake him. Set him free...in Jesus' Name we pray.

I think the most neccessary to get out from porn addiction is your will. The stronger your will, the easier to get out. Of course we need to build relationship through pray and read bible. I was addicted to porn, I tried to get out from that addiction, but failed. Tried again and failed again. Than happened continiously. But when I decided to do it seriously, with God's help I am free now. Just never give up to try, someday it will be realized! GOD BLESS YOU :D

pray, keep can-do attitude and try again. that's how I got out from my addiction. If you really do it seriously, soon or late your dream to get out from the addiction will be realized. Soon or late, able or not able are determined by how strong our will.
