Personally, I LOVE baby ducks.......

Take a couple baby ducks, marinade them in a good red wine, then slow cook them in a basal, butter, garlic pepper base, and WOW!

With a side of baby new potatoes they are yummy!

Florida has true humidity too. We actually do have a fireplace but it has not been in use since I have been living here in Clearwater. There may be 2 or 3 nights a year where a fire would be cozy but there are other ways to stay warm and snuggly. One of my favorite things that is also on your list is God's creation of nature. The grandchild are on my list too but I don't get to see them as much as I would like seeing how I live in Florida and they live in Michigan. My two youngest grandchildren, twin boys, celebrated their second birthday on February 1st. I love to write also but these days this is limited to my posts on CC. Warm water and soap? Hey Brother, u nailed it on the simple pleasures. Aweeee happy 2nd Birthday to the twins. Bummer at not getting to see them as much as you like. Awe, I am sure you and your wife stay warm and snuggly, all yeat around .

Can you imagine the stench without soap and water, Haha. Plus it just feels so good.

You are a good writer, so It makes sense that you enjoy it brother. Now all we need to do is make a few more hours in the day, :)

I meant to respond to mel's list, ugh, I was going to admit that everytime I watch the end of Happy feet 2, I cry, myself. Hahaha. I love tender hearts for all God's creatures, including the human variety and even the animated ones, lol.

Hiking
swimming
deserted beaches (or at least less developed and sparsely populated)
iced tea (cold brew bags are amazingly convenient)
also interacting with unusual creatures (holding alligators, petting tigers, swimming with dolphins or the less dangerous variety of sharks, petting kangaroos)
more books for when it's dark or really mosquitoey outside
fans (ceiling or stand, I love them all in the summer)
And ice cream, can't forget the ice cream

How could I forget fuzzy blankets ?!?!?
I know I have 8 or 9 fuzzy blankets and if I got another one today I would be just as thrilled. I love fluffy, fuzzy warm and cozy.
 
Dogs that are large enough to rough and tumble
Coffee, dark chocolate, and hot apple crumble
Drums and guitars and a nice voice that sings
These are a few of my favourite things

Woodworking, hiking and mornings in summer
Thunderstorms, hoarfrost, and sweet restful slumber
Books that prompt thinking and movies that don't
I could say more but I think that I won't...
