Paul most likely have personal reasons, so he wanted to stay single. Some said very possible he had marriage history.

Definitely respect personal wishes.

I heard Charles Stanley wanted to stay single after his wife divorced him. He mentioned he does not believe he should re marry.

John piper is married, but I heard he agrees with Stanley s choice.

Then why should we bother with it? Not whether it's "ok" or not, but why bothering with it in the first place?

Because some people have that desire. Of course, if you don't have that desire, well, don't worry, you don't have to bother with marriage. That's fine.

First there's the way that having more choices tends to delay making a decision, dating apps help play into this because there's always another profile that will go up. Along with that there may be a passivity that dating apps encourage, just put up all your info and wait for people to message you and tell you how wonderful you are and that you're their dream person (some may do this and others may just message everyone in hopes that someone responds).
This isn't how people aught to be seen. there's no such thing as 'another profile', thet's another whole person putting up some hopes & dreams.

By that logic we shouldn't do anything the bible doesn't command everyone to do? So I guess no wearing tennis shoes, or being online, or driving a car. I mean the bible doesn't command us to drive cars and you don't go to hell for not driving a car so why bother driving?
Oh wait because it gives you options you wouldn't otherwise have and can make life far more enjoyable? And God hasn't forbidden it so why not?
Yeah, so a mate is just like tennis shoes, internet or a car, it's like shopping, except for humans, isn't it. And that's exactly what dating apps have turned dating into, shopping for love insterest - or should I say, LUST interest. Forgive me for not finding that "far more enjoyable."

Because some people have that desire. Of course, if you don't have that desire, well, don't worry, you don't have to bother with marriage. That's fine.
Thanks, I desire to be spiritually minded, for "For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace."

Someone can desire marriage and desire to be spiritually minded. Crazy, I know!

Also, you know where in the Bible the desire for marriage is called "carnal"? Nowhere.

Alright, you said you " dated a small handful of guys", is that true or not? If that is true, why did you do that, even to defend their honor, if you were truly content with singleness? Your participation in the "dating culture" has practicallly proven your DISCONTENT WITH SINGLENESS and DEFENSE OF BROKEN DATING CULTURE. You've dated "a small handful of guys", and yet you're still here, on the single board, in this particular thread about dating app, arguing with me, why is that? Do I really need to spell it all out for you?

And that was the whole point, if Jesus had truly "given us victory over the flesh,” why are we still enslaved by our fleshly desire to date for worldly validation?

The evidence is three pages previous, go check it out yourself, I made nothing up.

Well you're halfway there, you managed to find a post you wanted to quote but then you couldn't be troubled to hit the reply button. 🤦‍♀️

Were you afraid to include the context of my comment, or did you just forget how thumbs work 🙄

Just remember there will always be someone on the internet with a wrong opinion. But there are better things to do in life than spend it correcting all those poor stupid idjits

I decided his theology was beyond correction a long time ago. At this point I'm just curious if he can be taught basic human decency, but that's not looking likely either. 🤦‍♀️

Fascinating case study though, and he's replying willingly. We all got our different hobbies! 🤷‍♀️

You know, his reply seemed to have come from out of nowhere. Just when things seemed to resolve, he starts a fight with you. I think he likes you.

Remember when you were a kid and if a boy liked you he'd pull your ponytail and run away, so you'd have to chase him? He's being like that.

It strange for a man to pull a tactic like that from kindergarten or 1st grade.

🕊️

He never showed up to argue with your comment, and we've never known him to pass up an opportunity for an argument...... interesting. 🧐

Except I didn't forget the context of ridiculing the MeToo culture - by defending the honors of those "small handful of guys" you've dated. You even called them "godly", and "all things are possible." If that's true, why didn't you end up with one of these pious godly gentlemen? Why didn't God make it possible for you? Why did you have to date several of them, and still hang around here on the single board? All your own words out of your own post, I didn't make any of those up, right?

I am familiar with #MeToo. Worldly people do worldly things.

Worldly people also try to coerce Christians to do Worldly things, sometimes by force. Which is a horrible crime.

But to say that dropping your pants is a requirement for dating these days is an absolute insult to the small handful of guys I have dated. Godly men who had boundaries and kept their pants zipped.

Perhaps you see such restrained behavior as impossible, but with God all things are possible.

And I'm curious at your "dating culture theology". I wonder which genius theology came up with it. Hmmm.

According to Lovette, no, because Jesus didn't die in order for you to enjoy the sight of a rainbow.
God gives us life and command us to be joyful.
Admire the beautiful rainbow 🌈,

Enjoy Godly friendship, don't let enemies take that away.

Enjoy the very journey to search. Don't let enemies take that away.

Enjoy marriage, don't bow down to enemies.

Enjoy raising up children, don't let enemies take that away.

Keep focusing on God, not the enemies.

Hi lovette! I see you figured the reply button, good job!! 👏😎

Now you'll just have to explain how defending the honor of the guys I have dated equates to ridiculing the #metoo movement.

I'm trying to figure out if you are genuinely confused or just making bizarre intentional mischaracterizations. 🤔

The sad truth is that even young people are interested and wanting to be in relationships as well and not supported . I remember being 12 years old and having my first crush. There is no support for school children having genuine feelings of nature, but they are required to attend school regardless of freedom of will or voluntary attendance, and when they become interested, they still don't matter or have support for such natural things. I'd say use whatever apps or social whatever to help get into a relationship or whatever, just as long as no foul play or spread of disease or harm etc, what's the problem? A lot of apps or dating apps charge money, then when you pay, you find no one you're interested in 🥳, save your money for something guaranteed I'd say. Good luck, maybe you can develop a free app that actually helps people get into real genuine relationships for free like the way it should be? Ai should know how to I would say with the right questions etc?

If one plays piano for 10 years, but never becomes a pianist. Would you say it is waste of time?

If one climbs a mountain ⛰ and never reach the top, would you say it is a waste of time?

If one live for 75 years and died, would you say it is waste of time?

Enjoy journey, enjoy life!!!

Well, I don't know if every young person is ready for a relationship. Twelve seems too young for anything serious, I didn't have my first crush until I was fifteen, and it took me a few months to realize it wasn't that serious and that it wasn't the big deal I made it out to be in my head, haha!

And I know plenty of people who met their marriage partner in high school, though maybe that's less true today, I don't know.

Also, I feel like "free apps" would attract people who aren't all that serious about dating. When I was on paid sites or apps, it always spurred me to be a bit more intentional and serious, and actually engage in mature conversation with people I was interested in. Just my thought, though.
