This is according to Scripture

Heb 10: 9 then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second.

The veil of the temple was torn at the death of Christ, not 70AD. Jesus ministers from a heavenly Temple, not made with human hands after His death. Heb8:1-5 Heb9:23-28. With the blood of Jesus at His Cross, He ended all sacrificial offerings for sin. He allowed the temple to continue on for a while, but the sacrifices were meaningless and had nothing to do with His covenant ending.

Again, I am not interested in anything else but this Scripture, if you can't find it I would consider teaching only what can be supported by Scripture. We are told not to add anything to it. But of course we have free will.
None of those verses establish when the old covenant ended. Hebrews 8:13 definitely states that 2 covenants are still operating well after the death of Jesus.

Now, please answer: could a covenant be dissolved without all the terms of the covenant fulfilled?

Yes it does -takes away the first to establish the second. Heb10:9

It seems like you keep trying to turn this around instead of just providing the Scriptures you claim is in our Bibles.

I will wait for you to provide it.

According to you Jesus removed 98% of the law and the prophets.

Then you highlight the verse below.

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets

Not only was 98% of the law shredded the covenant between God and Israel ended.

I can see a contradiction here?

Did Jesus fulfill the ten commandments or not?

If Jesus fulfilled the ten commandments then, the entire law has passed.

That is why Paul makes statements like the one below.

Galatians 5:18
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

You cannot hold onto to the law and Jesus at the same time.
Jesus said if you love Me, keep My commandments, so its the opposite, you can't hold on to Jesus if you don't keep His commandments because there is no love.

1 John2:4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him

Whatever ones belief is of "not under the law" means, it doesn't mean sinning and breaking the law of God.

Romans 6:15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

I can show you by Scripture what not under the law means and its not doing the opposite of what Jesus asked for us to do if we love Him. John14:15

Do you understand how discussions work? I answer your requests and you reciprocate.

Hebrews 10:9 does not establish where the old covenant ends. It merely states the 2nd replaces the 1st.

Does God fulfill His promises? Did Israel fail to keep the old covenant? Did God lie when He said He would bring sanctions for failure to keep the terms of the covenant? When did that happen?

What is the book of Revelation about? How does it relate to the book of Deuteronomy?

But you haven't answered my first and only question. Once you provide the Scripture you claim is there, we can go further. All I asked is for you to provide verses to support your own statements. If it takes 5 messages going back and forth and still no Scripture I am going to safely assume its because its not there. That matches with my own Bible study on this topic. I'll just leave it as agree to disagree.

I already said the Bible doesn't say 70AD. I'm giving you the biblical basis for my claim. If you would answer questions, you would already understand the biblical basis. Instead, you give me verses acknowledging a new covenant, but none that establish when the old covenant ended. I have given you one that clearly teaches that at the time of the writing of Hebrews, the old covenant was still operational.

The reason I've asked you about Revelation and Deuteronomy is because the 2 books are inexorably linked. I'm trying to garner what your understanding of those books is so to better answer your questions.

At this point, you are stonewalling because you are ignorant of the relationship between Revelation and Deuteronomy, or because you do understand and don't like the implications. Since this relationship is a major part of my eventual explanation, I'm trying to ascertain your understanding of them to better inform you. BTW...both are scripture.

I'll provide you with a better and more informative outline tomorrow when I have opportunity. In the meantime, I have already established that you have 0 verses that relate the ending of the old covenant. Now...is it your assertion that God entered into a relationship with Israel that had stipulations and sanctions for failing to keep the covenant, and when Israel failed, they never suffered the consequences of their failure? If they did, when did that occur? Further, what is the purpose of the book of Revelation?

Actually, Paul was addressing the letter to the saints (Christians) in Rome.

“To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Whether previous Jew or Gentile, He is no respecter of person.

“For there is no partiality with God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Who is Paul talking to in Rome?

Romans 2:24
For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,” just as it is written.

Paul is directly speaking to the Jews.

That's an oxymoron. The Bible doesn't support my claim but I am giving you my biblical basis for supporting my claim. Either our doctrine is supported by the Scriptures or its not. According to your own admission, its not. The Bible is to be the light to guide our path Psa 119:105 so I am going to stick with that. I wish you well.

You're disingenuous. I gave you a verse that showed 2 covenants running concurrently. You shared verses that did not say what you claimed. While they establish a new covenant, and one that supersedes the former, you have failed to establish with scripture when the first covenant ended. Further, if the first covenant ended when you say, you have God ending a covenant before all He promised in the covenant was fulfilled. In essence, God would be a liar. Since this is impossible, it cannot be as you claim.

The verses I posted seemed clear to me. God is not a liar- one agreement ended because it was broken by the people, so God made a new covenant that was ratified by His death. I provided clear Scripture that shows this. All I asked was for you to show me your statement from Scripture and you said its not there. That's really the end of it as far as I am concerned, so I am going to move along.

Read Hebrews 8:13. The old covenant was still waning well after Jesus' death. The covenant could not end until the sanctions promised were fulfilled. That didn't happen until 70AD.

Col.2:14 refers to those under the new covenant...the "us".
The old covenant between Israel and God ended when the new covenant was initiated.

Once the law and the prophets had been fulfilled completely, then the new covenant
was ratified.

Luke 22:19-20
And when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying,
“This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” And in the same way
He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is
the new covenant in My blood
.

1 Corinthians 11:25
In the same way He took the cup also after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood;
do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”

2 Corinthians 3:6
Who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit;
for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The letter is the law and the prophets and the letter kills.

Do the ten commandments kill?

Well, if your caught working on just one sabbath day you die, of course the letter kills.

The moment Jesus died on the cross the new covenant was established.

There cannot be a covenant without blood being shed.

This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood
The new covenant was established at the cross.

You can indeed show me, if and only if, your allowed to alter the meaning of that phrase,
'the law'.

2 Corinthians 3:6
Who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit;
for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

The clause 'not of the letter' the letter here means the entire law and the prophets.

The 'letter' is what is written in the O.T.

Jesus fulfilled the old covenant and the old covenant would not be fulfilled, if the ten
commandments were not fulfilled. The ten commandments are the written law in Exodus 20.

The ten commandments are the letter of the law.

Exodus 24:7
Then he took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people; and they said,
All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient!”

The verse above does not say 'some of the law we will do'.

If it was there one could simply produce the verse that says the Old Covenant ended in 70AD instead of when Scripture says at the death of the testator.
Your "demand" is ridiculous given that the entire NT was written prior to 70 AD.

The Ten Commandments is the OC/OT Exo34:28 and its the same God in the OT/OC as it is in the NT/NC and God does not change according to Him, so that's exactly what you are saying, when you make statements like this .

The agreement ended, but God wrote a new agreement established on better promises. Heb8:6 and it still has God's laws Heb8:10 because that was never the issue, the same issue with us Heb3:7-19

Also not sure if you saw this.....but can you please respond to the entire context of Mat5:17 of what Jesus was predicted to fulfill with His law.

Regarding Mat5:17

Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

Jesus plainly said He did not come to destroy the law, but instead He came to fulfill.

What was prophesized that Jesus would do to His law that He fulfilled?

Isa 42:21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

Magnify means make larger, not end, not to destroy as Jesus said plainly.

Which we see Jesus doing with the Ten Commandments in this very passage! Relating anger to thou shalt not murder, relating thoughts of lust with thou shalt not commit murder. This is how much Jesus does not want us to sin and break His commandments, not to even have thoughts that lead to breaking them and He goes on to say in doing so one is sinning and will be in fear of Judgement. Mat5:17-30

Why Jesus said plainly

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Its not that Jesus did not make Himself clear that He wants us to keep His commandments- He wrote them, He spoke them, He came in the flesh to magnify them, He taught them He kept them - the issue is not that He was not clear, the issue is our unbelief to live out what He says.
No

The verses I posted seemed clear to me. God is not a liar- one agreement ended because it was broken by the people, so God made a new covenant that was ratified by His death. I provided clear Scripture that shows this.
You don't get it. The covenant is not over until all the terms are met. God promised horrific judgment on Israel for their failure to meet the covenantal stipulations. Did He lie or did He carry out the promised judgment?

I realize they seem clear to you. That's why I asked you to consider them again and afresh. None of the verses you shared establish the time of the end of the old covenant. They do establish a 2nd covenant.

God was clear how the covenant ends: with great blessing or catastrophic judgment. We agree that Israel failed to keep the covenant. So when did they receive the catastrophic judgment?

And please tell me what...in just a couple of sentences...what the book of Revelation is all about, and how that relates to the book of Deuteronomy.

Here's an example:
The book of Deuteronomy deals with the inception of a covenant between God Israel. It is a covenant of works wherein Israel would receive blessings for keeping the terms of the covenant and judgments when they failed to do so.

The book of Revelation deals with the ending of the old covenant and the judgments God would shortly visit upon Israel for their covenantal disobedience.

How about you?

So prove so not with your words but with Scripture. I supported what I wrote with Scripture. I have asked you multiple times to support what you claim by Scriptures and you have chosen not to.

This idea that our words/ideas/opinions are equal to the word of God is where sadly many go wrong. I am listening, please show me my error from Scripture.

The new covenant was established at the cross.
If it did, God is either a liar and didn't visit upon Israel the promised judgment upon disobedient Israel, or you can say when that occurred.

Do you believe God can end a covenant without fulfilling all the terms of the covenant?

What is the relationship between the book of Deuteronomy and the book of Revelation?

The verses you employ do establish a new covenant. None of them establish a time when the old covenant ends. Hebrews 8:13 has 2 covenants operating concurrently.

The Gentiles were a wild olive tree and are grafted into Christ, rather than being a cultivated olive tree.
How can it be missed that, unlike cultivated vines, wild branches are untrained. And that the natural branches are cut off for unbelief suggests that unbelief is expressed in the form of a divergence from that cultivation, which then further suggests the cultivation is for belief, considering that wild branches are grafted in after having noticed belief in them. And given that primary commandments which encompass the whole of all the other, I might even venture to assert that belief manifests in an acceptance and also a yielding of love.

As scripture tells us, you can keep all the commandment to the giving of your body for burning, but if you have not love... you have nothing 1Cor13:3
