Now I am here and I BEG YOU..... LISTEN TO JESUS TODAY.... Listen to this WHAT JESUS SAID...
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Cobus...i'm just going to keep posting this everytime you go off on a
perfectionist/sinless perfection tangent.
perfectionism (of man in this life) that you believe and teach borders on blasphemy...i have seen it repeatedly in your musings...because the wrong conclusion you are forced to arrive at means
you will be a god.
this is unacceptable. you really have to stop it, because it is dishonoring The Trinity - The Absolutely Perfect (in the sense you use it), by you
bringing His Perfection down to the level of your (our) performance.
shun sin; deal with it ruthlessly; cut it out of your life; strive to conform to Jesus' character; but
never confuse your own righteousness with His.
perfect (teleios)
when used of God (only) means in an
absolute sense.
when used of man, it means complete (see below). and that completion; maturity is what we strive for.
when comparing God and man (Matthew 5:48), with God it is absolute, whether conveying Completion; Fullness; Holiness; Love or any other attribute
of His.
the subject is revealed within its context. the subject will vary, though the word
teleios appears in many contexts.
the adjective
teleios (
when used of man) modifies the noun or pronoun (you; he, she; etc)...you will see that it can
never mean something like what you suggest:
that men will be gods.
you know
there is only One God. if you haven't gotten anything else from the Bible, this is the one thing you must grasp.
[following this post are LINKS TO 2 short writings which should show you why it is wrong for you to continue to believe and teach perfectionism (of men in this life). please read them Cobus; study what they say and prayerfully seek God on this matter.
you really want to turn back from the false teaching of perfectionism (in this life): it leads to a kind of delusion that is very difficult to come out of, because it is idolatry of a kind - believing you are divine, or will be divine or will be a god, or God Himself. it happens all the time with perfectionists - they end up claiming to be God!]

examples, when used

Hebrews 5:14
13For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. 14But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil.
Ephesians 4:13b
attain mature adulthood and the full standard of development in the Messiah.
1 John 4
12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
1 Corinthians 2:6
Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.
1 Corinthians 14:20
Brothers, stop being childish in your thinking. Be like infants with respect to evil, but think like adults.
Colossians 1:28
We proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
1 John 4
13This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.
here please study and see what it means to be led by the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit is not feeble in His Commission to lead you to completeness; maturity; transforming you; making you mature in Christ:
Romans 8
14
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. 15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" 16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God
