In the US in 2019 there were 38,000+ deaths due to car accidents. To keep safe maybe car driving should be restricted to trips to Walmart for groceries. Of course, if you lost your job due to the current restrictions there would be no money for food. Oh yeah, once a week visits to car wash for sanitization purposes, a Lysol / water scrub. Those not wearing gloves and a face mask while driving are subjected to a misdemeanor charge, $250 USD (first offense).

...and Dr Fauci had her locked up...
Why haven't Fauci, Birx, Gates and Soros been locked up already? Why are these scoundrels being given a public forum to mislead everyone, when they all should be behind bars?

The UK's mortality rate is about 13% (approx 17000 deaths, 130000 tested positive). Sir Patrick's aloof statement is based on something else, not figures.
The death rate is probably much lower than 13%. The thing is that correlation is based on the number of deaths attributed per the number of those that tested positive.

Most people that have not been tested but actually have the contracted the virus don't even realize it as there were no harmful effects whatsoever.

To get an accurate death rate figure the correlation must be based on those that have contracted the virus (rather than those that tested positive) verses those that have died from it. The 13% accepted death rate for the coronavirus would now be substantially lower.

Instead of a 13% death rate the figure of 0.13% would be closer to the truth.

Have you ever heard the joke about the young bull and the old bull looking down at a whole pasture of cows ? The young bull was all excited and said to the old bull ''hey , let's run down there and get us a cow'' The old bull calmly looked at him and said ''why don't we take our time and walk down there and get'm all''

I heard again today that 5G radiation caused the same lung injury as coronavirus and the way they've set up this coronavirus they can mask 5G on demand and blame it on the perpetual described coronavirus condition .. Also that communities under quarantine compared to similar communities in other countries it makes no difference in the numbers quarantined vs non quarantined .... Also that the CCP are afraid of nuclear war and have went offensive against all the players , if that's true then we might began to get some action from both sides .. I'd already heard prophecy that easter was the point at which we really began to take ground ..
Take it with a grain of salt , some of it is admitted speculation from what is being observed ..

The USC report he's referencing in citing an overall mortality rate of just 0.1% to 0.342% is available here:

http://www.publichealth.lacounty.go...eU7KTvn-5eRCppExYfkqF7buR3o8s743u9NI9fTkDUKZI

Remember, when you see the number of cases being reported, that is only confirmed cases...it doesn't include all the people walking around with the infection who don't know they're carrying the coronavirus because its not making them sick. That's where studies like this one by the LA county public health department in tandem with researchers from USC come in......by testing a large number of radomized people they can get a more accurate picture on the real case rate....

Better data means better decisions. The reason lockdown measures were used broadly all over the place was because of a computer simulation done by the Imperial College of London, but while they were relying on assumptions and a small amounto data principally from China (ugh)....now the picture is becoming clearer and elected officials can be guided accordingly.

If you provided some credible support for what you are saying, that will help.
Well, you cannot or will not answer my question, which was quite simple. So I guess that comparison was meaningless.
newsweek
"despite the U.S. having one of the lowest coronavirus mortality rates in the world—that is, the lowest number of infected people dying—the country also has the highest number of coronavirus deaths worldwide.

Dr. Deborah Birx, a member of President Donald Trump's coronavirus task force, mentioned the nation's low mortality rate during her comments in Tuesday's White House coronavirus briefing.

To contextualize the statistic, the U.S. has experienced 823,081 confirmed coronavirus cases and 45,065 deaths nationwide as of April 21, creating a national mortality rate around 5.5 percent. Comparatively, Spain's mortality rate is around 10.4 percent and Italy's is around 13.2 percent.

"Our mortality rate remains roughly half [of other countries]," Trump added during the briefing. However, his additional comment that the rate is "one of the lowest in any other country in the world" is inaccurate as many smaller countries around the world have mortality rates of 2 percent or lower."

Fact, there are many, many more infected that THOSE TESTED......HELLO?

Here are just some thoughts rambling around in my addled little human brain.

While I'm hoping that indications coming out from mass testing like has been done in selected places (like LA County as linked in my previous post) prove to be broadly on the money....meaning that basically 98% of people contracting the coronavirus don't require any medical treatment, (why get treated for something that doesn't even make you sick) and that the true mortality rate is something close to .1% (like the seasonal flu).....While I'm obviously hoping and praying for that, there are still things to be worried about.

What this crisis (and whether or not it was a true crisis is meaningless, because it was treated as one) revealed is that health care systems by and large are unprepared for anything like this....NYC with its petri dish like conditions showed that in spades. This pandemic has underscored the need for governments to invest heavily in public health care.

And that is what worries me....if the novel coronavirus really turns out to be the mouse that roared, we're in trouble because we've decimated the tax base that pays for public health inititatives and infrastructure to fight it. If money is found to bolster the health sector where is the money going to be coming from? Are governments going to engage in the solution that Germany used before Hitler's rise to power and simply print more and more money?

And if the novel coronavirus ends up only requiring treatment in about 1 or 2% of cases, with only .1% or so dying......man oh man are we in trouble when a truly deadly pandemic comes along. Is anyone going to trust the same people who told us that the coronavirus was more than 10x more deadly than the seasonal flu if it turns out that was unbelievably and incredibly wrong?

I am not seeing any support for the 0.1% to 0.342% figures, including article above. 99% doesn't explain how 30% of infected seniors die in nursing homes with outbreak. I know plenty of people directly or indirectly with COVID19:
- 2 coworkers diagnosed but are now working
- coworker's father diagnosed and died
- coworker's grandma diagnosed and died
- someone's grandma at church diagnosed and died
- someone's elderly cousin and son (from church) diagnosed, hospitalized, and are recovering
- friend in NYC who wasn't diagnosed but became very sick a few weeks ago, quarantined himself for two weeks, seems fine now
- friend's friend in NYC who had shortness of breath and malaise, was not diagnosed, not sure about her.

All this in the past few weeks.

ok,i did not know you lived in the uk.
They have a higher mortality rate than any country in europe.

Here in the usa we only have 1 0r 2 percent.

Yeah NY another hot spot.
You sure do pick some worst cases for your info.

Just because the broader mortality rate might be increidbly low (.1 to .342%) that doesn't mean that's the risk for everyone. For an otherwise healthy 20 something it might not even be as high as .1%....it might be less than half of that. But for a 70+ year old with cardiovascular disease it might be closer to 50%.

Indications coming out from all over is that the novel coronavirus is NOT politically correct....it seems to be incredilby dangerous for the elderly and those with compromised health conditions....put the two together and look out.

Some do not want to get it. Imagine that people are working to save lives and someone is worried about not being able to get their hair cut and nails done.

Its not the Life, Liberty and Happiness as nation.... NO .... it is MY life, MY liberty and MY Happiness and this picture says it all.
The writing is on the wall.

Most people shouting out numbers also seem to want to dismiss that there is so much unknown about this virus..

"ohhhh its only the elderly and the weak that are dying.. the rest of us will be fine.
Why should I worry about overwhelming the health care system. I do not work in that field."

History repeats and viruses repeat until there is vaccine or a treatment
And no one knows how long the body stays immune... since many people stay infected with low grade fevers.
And if anybody knows anything about shingles they would know that viruses stay dormant in body as well.

Best not to answer a fool according to his folly... Lanolin was right.
