Well, I said some things and you asked me some questions. That's why we're having a conversation.

Sorry. Honestly forgot. I don't come across your username often.

I mean being in an actual dating relationship. "Boyfriend and girlfriend." Where you're making progress and have a trajectory towards engagement and marriage. And where that's the goal.

Yeah, for example. I mean, you're going to need to be able to afford an engagement ring, if you want to follow that tradition. And afford a wedding, if you want one. And afford a separate place to live. And afford to raise and provide for a family.

I mean, it'd be wise to set yourself on that path before you date, get engaged or marry. I wouldn't want to marry just anybody and then just hope that it'll all work out. Marriage is a serious commitment. So it should be taken seriously. You should plan for it, prepare for it.

That's what I meant.

A family needs to be provided for, yes. I mean, if you're married, things are going to cost more.
Actually in a healthy marriage, 2 people can save more money. Share housing, home cook meal, share transportation if frugal....
Many marriages accumulate wealth.

I have no more thoughts.

I don't want to be married at this stage. Dating is fine, but I can't be bothered getting married. I already share a house, cook meals at home, and drive people around. Also sometimes I am called to babysit and help out at school.

I don't see any benefit in being married. To someone I don't know. lol

When I was in my 20s, I lived in a dark basement apartment, struggling with work, social life, loneliness.... now I look back , all these were blessings that prompt my desire for marriage.

That's fine. Nobody has to get married.

But these days, people don't usually marry people they don't know.

The answer is God is sufficient. He is and will provide all one needs.
Good, then take whatever He provides, don't covet.
Stay away from them. Do not copy ungodly acts.

That's wonderful. They already did.. God moved them out of my life..
Then forget about modern dating altogether, let God move it out of your life.
The teaching of scripture prepares us for many life scenarios. Pastors job is faithfully teaching scripture. Out job is to follow scripture, God's word, not pastors.
Beware of this arrogant attitude though, that you think you know all the scripture, you can figure anything out on your own, you don't need anybody to teach you.

So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. (Acts 8:30-31)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
My son, hear the instruction of your father,
And do not forsake the law of your mother;
For they will be a graceful ornament on your head,
And chains about your neck. (Prov. 1:7-9)
