I am enjoying the submissions in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre thread thus far. It has proved to be a high-entertainment venue for sure.

LOL!!

@tourist obviously came up with a much better name for this thread than I did.

I wanted to make it something eye-catching but didn't want to cause TOO much trouble...

A title that said, "Can Tall Timbers turn Lanolin's Yard Into the Texas Chainsaw Massacre??!!" sure would have been fun!!!

Unfortunately... I have to think of... grown-up things, like how anyone doing a Google search for a Christian site that comes up with "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" might get the wrong idea... 😢😢😢

Le sigh.

Sometimes I have to reign things in and show a little self-restraint when writing these threads... 😭

Bah humbug!!!

I love trees so much that I built a house in the middle of a forest, and rather than cut down the hill side to expose a beautiful view, I preferred to see the trees in the forest for my view. Even so, on that particular lot I must've cut enough trees down to provide a hundred cords of firewood or so. Didn't make a dent in the forest.

Please keep your See's chocolates away from me on account of I try not to eat sweets but can't help but eat all of the See's chocolates within reach. Once, many years ago, my parents sent my wife and I a gift of 3 pounds of See's chocolates. Believe it or not, my wife thought it was okay to polish off all three pounds before I even got home from work...

At last!! Our Guest of Honor is here!! 😁

So it turns out @Tall_Timbers has a very soft spot in his heart for trees!

See, @Lanolin? Your favorite tree just might be safe after all. 😎

I have yet to try See's candies, though I know Tall has been recommending them for a while. I just haven't gotten myself to pay those prices yet...

I can't even imagine what a 3 lb. box costs -- and I don't want to imagine how woozy I would feel if I ate the entire box in a day! 😲

Privets make me sneeze!
For years I had to stay inside during summer because I'd just be sneezing all the time, really bad hayfever, when we weren't even making hay in the suburbs. It was the pollen from the privet trees in bloom.
When the privet was removed from my neighbours' my hayfever cleared up, and for the first time I didn't have to do a nose spray of steroids or take allerstop pills every day just to get through the day.

Is not just me. Lots of people have this problem.
I think Birch is another one though it's pretty those that suffer, suffer bad.
Privet was just way more common, yes it makes a thick hedge, and a fast growing tree. But you will suffer and make everyone else suffer if you plant it. Which you can't as its banned from sale now and noxious pest/weed plant..in Auckland. Its just the people who have this plant, maybe they renting and the landlord didn't care...I don't know. But everyone who owns a property should make sure there is no privet growing. I wonder if they even knew back in the day what a pest it would be when they planted it.

Plant something else, anything, just not privet. Camellia! Manuka! Japanese Maple! Nikau! Griselinias. Puriri! Pohutakawa! Kowhai! Titoki! A giant oak! A cabbage tree!

From what you describe about privets, I can't blame you for wanting @Tall_Timbers to cut all of them down.

We have trees that produce floating "cotton" bits, and a good number of people seem to be allergic to them as well.

I'm pretty sure lots of people would be happy if @Tall_Timbers would cut those down as well! 🤣

Looks like we're going to be keeping him busy (distracted) for a while -- I think your favorite trees are safe -- for now. 😎

I recently realized that people need to keep me away from small things that can be organized such as:

1. Containers, boxes, or bags of pens, pencils, and writing instruments.

1784480701046.png

For whatever reason, I'm going to want to organize them in some way -- by color, type, brand, etc.

I will test all the pen's write-ability (how smooth is the ink, how clearly does it write, is there gunk at the tip that needs to be cleaned off, etc.), and heaven forbid if any of the pencils aren't pinpoint sharp!!

If I know I'm going into such a situation, I'll bring my own sharpener -- just in case!!

NO DULL PENCILS on my watch!

2. Coffee pod holders.
1784480913636.png

Whether they're in a spinner, drawer, or other kind of holder, I am going to be hopelessly tempted to re-organize them. I might sort them by flavor, brand, color of the label, etc. -- or mix them all up to produce an eye-pleasing variety -- but unless strictly forbidden, I will not be able to leave them alone!!

Basically...

Anything small that can be sorted in some way -- is an automatic magnet for my own personal version of OCD!!

haha Seoul it looks like you just love rainbows and colours. Did you find those window clings I was talking about that shine rainbows into your room?

I actually went to a garden centre yesterday, and was prepared with bags and boxes in case I did buy anything, but I didn't. I am looking for a blueberry bush as a companion to my OTHER blueberry bush - they need two to pollinate succesfully I've heard, but the ones in the garden centre my garden club dropped into didn't look very good and they were expensive! But the bargain Garden Centre we were originally going to visit...was closed!

And it usually is open on Sundays. But I head the guy who runs it, Roger, is not too well.

You caught me! :D I have always loved bright colors, and more than one at a time. I find it helps with my depression.

D'oh!!

I just placed an Amazon order... My friend's daughters pulled me down the rabbit hole of DIY gel nail manicures. I was amazed that I could get a whole kit for the cost of a couple bottles of regular polish at the store.

But I completely forgot about those cool window clings! I'm going to be trading out my spring window clings (lots of flowers) for autumn ones soon, so maybe I'll look at buying the awesome ones you posted next spring.

Thank you for reminding me! :)

I understand about the garden centers having slim pickings right now.

The shops here are in that in-between stage where they're trying to get rid of all the not-so-perky looking leftovers from summer while waiting for the fall arrivals.

You can organize my sock drawer if it makes you happy. It won't take long. I only have black crew socks.

I have had See's chocolates a few times. High-quality stuff - little bit pricey but worth it.

Uh-oh! You had better keep @seoulsearch away from public places where children and teens/young adults are carrying around cute, cuddly, soft stuffed animals because...
She literally just told us why in another thread:

I've also been known to become... a bit envious of children -- and college students -- toting around particularly cute stuffed friends. Whenever I travel and see them walking through airports, at theme parks, etc., I have to ask my chat friends to talk me out of trying to grab them -- and run!

So basically -- I'm going to need a group of volunteers around me at all times -- to keep me from causing mischief...

I don't know why, but I always wind up telling on myself!!!

It's NOT from a guilty conscience, honest...

I mean, I wouldn't REALLY swipe an adorable stuffed bear, or monkey, or rabbit...

From a 5-year-old kid... and RUN!!!

Would I??!!

(Maybe that's why I come with a disclaimer that says, "Need Adult Supervision -- AT ALL TIMES!!!")

5 Kilograms!!! (Just over 11 pounds!!)

What do I look like, an Olympic Weight Lifter??!!

You see, this is why I stick to STUFFED animals!!

My whole goal in wanting to try to swipe someone's adorable stuffed friend -- and then run -- IS TO GET AWAY WITH IT!

There's no way I'm EVER going to get away with trying to dash off with someone's ELEVEN POUND animal!!! 🤣

I'm pretty sure I'd have to train like a professional bodybuilder for a year to pull that one off! 😲😆

Well at least I know my critters will be safe if @seoulsearch ever sets foot here.

But I will still ask border patrol to check you and @Tall_Timbers at the airport or the wharf if you are coming by sea. I'm pretty sure you won't be allowed to bring a foreign chainsaw with you into this country.

Says the lady who was trying to steal a big yellow dog
aren't those dogs something like 50 pounds :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

LOL!!

Well you see, my plan with the dog is that once I won his furry little heart over, he'd just follow me on his own accord -- no pick up or carrying necessary!

I'm also realizing that this is making me sound like I have a preoccupation with the thought of "stealing" people's animals. 😲

I mostly stick with stuffed but have fallen for a live pet every now and then...

Hmmm. I had thought that it would be a VERY GOOD thing to have @Godsgirl1983 as a partner in mischief-making.

But now I'm quickly realizing that she also WON'T LET ME GET AWAY WITH ANYTHING, and I'm starting to have mixed feelings about that!
🤣

OOOOPPPPSSSSS!!!!!!

No, no, no, no you see....
the mischief making only works when we're partnered up to do so,
trying to go at it alone is plain old asking for trouble :p

So in other words...

If I don't take you along, you're going to rat 🐀 me out for not including you. 🫩

Lol!!!

I think this is the first time anyone has ever tried to blackmail me for not taking them along on my antics! 🤣🤣🤣
