Can purgotry be proved from a biblical sense, or is this idea based on, when somebody believes purgotry can be believed, it's on the bases that purgotry makes perfect sense from what they believe the word is saying 🙂

Also heres a nice song for starters

Did you know Celine Dion was raised Roman Catholic 🙂

So I found an understanding on an understanding belief of purgatory, but I wonder is this Catholic 🤔

A Catholic thelogical discussion

Matthew 5:26 is a verse from Jesus Sermon on the Mount, warning believers that they will not be released from spiritual imprisonment until they have fully settled their spiritual debts, urging immediate reconciliation with anyone they have wronged, lest they face severe judgment, being thrown into jail until the last penny is paid, highlighting the importance of resolving earthly conflicts quickly to avoid eternal consequences

I believe that it could probably be implied from a biblical sense.

You sin in your flesh, flesh and blood cannot enter heaven(1Cor15:50) Why would your flesh need to be purged of sin to enter somewhere it is not going to?

lol no one saw my deliberate joke of would that be purgotry or purgatory, purgotry as in you got somebody freed from paradise

Or could I argue against this idea of got , as in I've got the wrong idea of purgotry.. and I should be thinking purgatory .means a temporary state to enter heaven lasting until the soul has been purified before entering heaven.

the belief is the soul needs to be purified. Before going to heaven, as you may have unrepented sins.

I think someone quoted a catholic document that stated all sin, even venial sin must be purged on earth or in purgatory. That would mean, unless you make a death bed confession, you would have to go to purgatory, including catholic popes, Im not sure they allow for that in their thinking

No.
Catholics are second generation Protestants. Who were the first you might ask? The apostilles themselves! That's why the 4 major gospels vary in writing style because the people who wrote them are different humans (not robots) who express their unique love for God.
I don't even know why i responded to this but put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I guess i responded because a member here sent me a private message a while ago about their understanding of Salvation which she linked to what the Catholics call 'Purgatory' and she also linked it to a 'graduation ceremony' like getting a college degree.

I found it a bit strange but we're all God's children, even the ones who deny Him, they secretly want His attention.

I guess these subjects strike the very heart, is probably the reason why you responded,

Another thelogical concept, is from Catholic theology, is can you know your perfect in the soul, when to say such a thing is like saying you have no sin,

And another one I've heard is when your conscience is convicted with guilt, is it a guilt that's lasts a while in a conscience that needs purification more, as in the sense the person didn't repent of there sin, to the person they sinned against, directly to them.

As in his word that's says you should settle disputes between each other, because of the eternal consequence.

I believe it's more venial sin than mortal sin to the catholic belief of purgatory .

Mortal sin has to be forgiven before death through a sacrament whilst saved, venial sin can be purified in heaven

"Probably the reason i responded" is an assumption and it's okay you're forgiven.
Point is, a lot want to be First in His eyes but He says a lot about humility too because He reads our hearts.
So all in all, First and Last we are all special.

I did read one document on another site that said every veneal sin must be purged on earth or in purgatory, but that was only one, and Im not an expert on RC doctrine

ok so this is the dilemma, but is dilemma missing something

I've had a catholic theology telling me I can't have complete assurance im saved for a while now,

But 9:40 secs into the video just for 1 minute long, this Catholic says in the video, that the greatest sign your a saint is you have great sorrow for your sin, and a longing to be with God ie forgiven as well.

So now my question is how come they don't believe in faith alone, as in justified by faith alone 🤔

And U2 I guess

np, me neither, I'm just challenging the most important ones, as see my post above, post 19

which was mainly related to discussion you got involved with me, in another thread.

So basically you see that there's many people actually walking around with Catholic theogly blissfully unaware, to mean, faith with out works is dead, etc. and you have to do works etc out of your own will, to have to be assured etc or to have some confidence etc. but you cant have full confidence bla bla bla.

But in the sermon I've posted on Catholic purgotry, it's says the greatest sign you are saved from the book of Maccabees,,, which is a Catholic book in there bible, which our reformed church removed, the catholics priest is saying the greatest sign you are saved, is you have great sorrow for your sin, and a longing to be with God,

Which is a matter of faith alone, which is something Catholics dont believe.

So we have all these catholics theologies here teaching free will and human conscience is the final authority in salvation, bla bla bla.

But here we have a Catholics priest saying no noo noo, Faith alone is.

But yet we have loads of Catholics saying faith alone is unbiblical, bla bla bla.
