"He will do everything within His power and according to Nature to accomplish this feat."
I meant to say 'according to His Nature'

We understood what you meant. This was very helpful post and it is very nice to meet you.☺
It is true even in our own language that there is a word-say...orange- that has a different meaning if used as a noun versus an adjective. It is the difference between an actual thing or just a visual description of color.

Even as believers God allows us to have good experiences and bad experiences(look at the life of the apostle Paul). However God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all. The ultimate goal of God is to bring those who believe in Him into a place of the absence of evil and painful things...sounds good to me!

Jesus said.."In the world you shall have tribulation - but be of good cheer - I have overcome the world."

We live in a fallen world.

Andrew Wommack's Living Commentary.

I have read posts of yours in the past about "not being led by a theologian", "be led by the Spirit", & the like, & now here you are quoting the commentary of a known quack that teaches WOF.

I'm just curious which side of your mouth you're using today, the right or the left?

I don't interact with people that continue to display malice towards others in the body of Christ and insult them because they may have a different belief in some area or subject.

Rom. 16:17

1 Cor. 15:33

Heb. 12:15

One more for you: Amos 3:6King James Version (KJV)

6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

Actually, your translation and mine differ a little. Still, it seems to me the message is that the Lord rewards and the Lord punishes. It’s not that I can’t create a little evil myself, if the Lord allows that, but when you see evil on a large scale – that is, when you see suffering on a large scale – it is the Lord chastising those who have gone astray.

Yes, if we don't humble ourselves before Him, He will humble us by wounding us to fully rely on Him. I just suggest you walk in His will. Doing otherwise is supremely painful.
And he requires chastity, sobriety, and the like.

"What God requires of us He Himself works in us, or it is not done. He that commands faith, holiness, and love, creates them by the power of His grace."

- Matthew Henry

I didn't see anything way out quacky in that particular commentary.
You are being purposefully rude in the way you are speaking to this poster though.
Why not deal with what was actually posted rather than attacking the poster?
You've not added anything to the conversation that could help anyone or could in any way help to build up in faith and trust. This is just bad behavior.

What do we do with these passages?

The answer is simple, God created all things.

Colossians 1:16-17

[SUP]16 [/SUP]For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

[SUP]17 [/SUP]And he is before all things, and by him all things consist."

Revelation 4:11

[SUP]11 [/SUP]Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created."

God even made the serpent....

Genesis 3:1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

You didn't read his harsh posts about depending on commentaries & theologians the other day, did you?

I didn't think so.

But, you would have said the same thing anyway, believing the same doctrine he does.

To keep the malice and slander down to a minimum - here is what I have said in the past about commentaries. My apologies to the OP for this temporary deviance from your OP in order to clear things up.

Commentaries.

I personally love to read from commentaries and have about 1/2 dozen or so that I regularly view on some subject. There is an inherent problem with going by commentaries to determine truth - they can be giving out what their denomination has taught them in the past and so we "could be" in another church tradition type of situation be perpetuated.

Commentaries are basically what the author himself thinks about a passage or certain doctrine which is absolutely fine. I find that I get a part from one and a part from a different commentary and the Spirit of God uses them all in some aspect to reveal what He is speaking to me about.

The other one is Greek/Hebrew dictionaries. I find that they too can "sometimes add" their comments to what the actual meaning of the Greek words are which may or may not be entirely true. They "add" their "application" of the meaning of the words - which is fine. But I believe we need to be aware of such things too.

I absolutely love to read the meanings of words in the Greek/Hebrew dictionaries and glean many things that have helped me to grow in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Personally I believe all Christians should be reading the original words as technology has been made available the tools needed to do this - and you don't need to go to seminary to do this elementary study. If you don't use these tools you are "in serious error" ( just kidding - using the play on the term being in error...:) )

In my opinion - Without the revelation of the Holy Spirit revealing the things of God to us - we can easily create our own religion that displaces the work of Christ in our lives and thus nullify the grace of God that is available for us for life and living.

Why not just forgive him if he spoke harshly to you the other day? Gods mercies and forgiveness begin fresh and anew every day. Shouldn't our mercy and forgivnesses also begin new each day?

Gee, I guess you didn't want me to expose what he did..... you wanted me to sweep it under the rug, didn't you?

If this were a "normal" church, I would have did that..... but this ain't normal, & it sure ain't church.

I did not speak harshly to him. I do not interact with him. He simply doesn't like what some commentaries may say that conflict with his personal beliefs - which is fine. He doesn't like the fact that some people just don't take everything a man in a commentary says about a subject as being 100% accurate either.

He is entitled to his own opinions on things just like all of us are , there is just no need to insult others because of it which is bad behavior and which is what you were addressing. He will stop eventually. The life of Christ in him will bring him around. We just bless him and leave him in the hands of his loving Lord.

I am more concerned about what this bitterness and unforgiveness will do to you than I am about whatever harshness you feel he spoke to you with.

I don't ever remember you being concerned before..... but it's alright. I don't show unforgiveness towards the saints.

Maybe you never gave me any concern before because you are usually quick to forgive towards us all. I expect all of you to point out to me any root of bitterness you see spring up in me that may cause me trouble and I would do no less for any of you for your protection than you would do for me.

It does say that his mercies are renewed daily and blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy....
