The wage of sin is death. Adam's sin put all mankind under the death sentence.
The redemptive sin atoning sacrifice of a sinless Christ pays the laws required wage DEATH.
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Gal 3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Synopsis, A faithful Christ's atonement paid sins required wage DEATH. When I place my faith/trust in his payment. God transfers my sins onto Christ & Christ's righteousness onto me. And I become the righteousness of God thru Christ.
