I have never liked croissants, and I had to cheat to make sure that I even spelled it correctly. For me, they are too dry and flakey. Kind of like eating chips of paint.
One must wonder...
how do you know what chips of paint taste like?
Did you grow up in a home with paint jobs done prior to the late 70's?
If so  that could explain A LOT :giggle:

Back then we didn't have TikTok and YouTube and Facebook. Kids had to do whatever they could.

I balanced on top of a 55 gallon drum on its side and rolled it across the yard by standing on one side or the other. I walked on stilts and refused to consider myself to have mastered them until I was able to walk all the way down to Grandma's house next door.

There's no way I have any room to talk about some other kid chewing on paint chips. Kids got bored back then.

Although I have never actually eaten a paint chip (I normally just drink paint straight out of the can), paint chips look like they would be dry and flakey in taste. To my recollection, I have only eaten a croissant once, and that was not really by choice. I had forgotten to buy breakfast foods at the supermarket the day before, and I had to grab a breakfast sandwich from a local WAWA (which is the sound that came out of me after biting into the croissant - WAH  WAH ) on my way to work. Normally, they make their breakfast sandwiches on bagels, but they must have been out of them that day. I am simply not into dry food. Well, sawdust doesn't taste that bad, but I normally only eat that when my Stanley Wet/Dry Vac is on the fritz.

Oh, a Wawa croissant...

No no no no no no no no. Just no. SOOOO much no.

You have not tried a croissant. You have in fact tried a sawdust roll. Wawa is a good place to get fuel for your car, but don't ever get fuel for your body there.

Before you try it, the ones at Walmart "bakery" are not much better.

For me, depending on its shape, a croissant either reminds me of a snail's shell or of a cat turd, and neither is something that I would like to shove down my throat.

Hey, don't totally dismiss WAWA's food. Some of their bowls are good; even if they normally only fill them halfway while overcharging you for them. I get even, though. You know. By taking 1000 packages of crackers.

I understand that McDonalds is definitely a questionable restaurant to go and eat what they are now trying to revamp as healthy food but apart of me just really loves the experience of eating a triple cheese burger or fries or double quarter pounder with cheese…and also, their unsweetened iced tea.

For a while, I was just getting the burgers without a bun, no ketchup, so it would be a keto type burger, since they don’t do lettuce wraps but I’m definitely not above eating there.

Especially when you are in a low budget season in life and you just want to go out and go thru a drive through, just to experience a smiling face and quick service…McDonald’s or in n out is the way to go.

Let me put it this way....

The brown sear marks on the sausage patty on the sausage McMuffin are made with a food grade paint....they are not actually made by intense heat on the grey sausage patty made from the parts of a pig unsuitable for scrapple or souse meat.
That's why it's grey....not white, pink, or any other color of the rainbow associated with pork.
The processing of these "cuts" involves industrial grade chemicals like ammonia and of course lots of chopping.....kinda like that mystery meat used in cafeteria school lunches in the '80's...except now unbreaded.

And that's just that thin, grey sausage patty. The rest is scarier than that.

Thing about those things.....IF you ever get a REAL sourdough or regular English muffin, real egg, real scratch sausage, and slice of real smoked gouda together.....and compare that side by side to the McDonald's egg mcmuffin.......you WILL spit out the artificial because of the chemical taste. It's blatant and obvious at that point.

Good Morning, Everyone!

It's been a while since we had a fun, fluffy thread, so let's go for it!

I have some eggs, ham, cheese, and vegetables... It seems to me like a breakfast sandwich is in order!

But which kind of bread product makes the perfect breakfast sandwich?!!

Inquiring (and very hungry) minds want to know!!!

Which bread variety would YOU choose?

1. A croissant?

2. A biscuit?

3. An English muffin?

4. A tortilla?

5. A bagel?

6. Waffles or Pancakes?

7. Or, GASP, what about just plain old bread?!

Tell us what YOU would choose for your perfect breakfast sandwich (along with how you'd cook your eggs, which meats, veggies, cheese, and sauce you'd use, etc.) in YOUR post below!

As always, I'm looking forward to a highly controversial (but tasty!) discussion!
Old thread but a goody. Good plain white or wheat bread is hard to beat for an egg sandwich. A tortilla the best for a quick run-out-the-door sandwich. Yum

I don't shop at McDonalds (here more commonly known as MickeyD's), but I got a taste of their quality last weekend. My wife bought me a quarter pounder with cheese for lunch. The only thing that I tasted was one bite where there was as pickle. I don't see how anyone still shops there.

Prior to covid, McDonald's had a much more extensive menu with premium grilled chicken sandwiches that I really liked, along with grilled chicken wraps but after covid their menu shrunk and the quality of their food has certainly been declining.

I'm amazed at the decrease in the quality of products that we have experienced since the infusion of the free money during and after the Covid pandemic.

Hash browns or potato rosti is my perfect breakfast food that goes well with fried or scrambled egg and bacon.

Maybe its the crunchy /crispy outside and soft chewy inside, plus butter melts perfectly on them, and can season them with salt and pepper.
