Which of the laws?

Do you suppose God now approves if you move the marker of your neighbor's land to favor your own?

Do you suppose God no longer asks thet we return our enemy's property should we come across it lost?

Does Jesus teach us to require an eye for an eye?

Is murder now acceptable behavior?

Are the dietary laws still to be observed?

Is the Seventh Day numbered by God now to be observed on the first day as per a pope?

Is Jesus now our High Priest rendering the Levitical priesthood ordinaces invalid?

Have all here actually understood what Jesus teaches as concerning how the law is not obsolet, but the curse of the law is?

Are all the popel, self-proclaimed lawyers, who say the law is dead certain they have studied and know the wWord well enough to determine wehat our Hevenly Fahter considers faithful and tru behavior under grace?

Why keep asking about the law when you have not studied the law and how Jesus taches us its evolution?

It is written in the law love they neighbor and to love God with all heart, soul and mind, and all of the law depends and is within these two laws, but this is not denying the law is yet extant, it is saying the law is obeyed in the sight of God when we truly love. If it iw there it still is in force. What is not in force is the death it renders to all law-breaker who do not recognize the mercy free for any who believe Jesus Christ.

Stop questionin God's wisdom and learn from Him, as He has commanded.....

It's the Law, not the laws.

If you haven't died to the Law, then the Law hasn't yet done it's work in you, and you are not living for God. (Gal. 2:19, Romans 7:5-7)

I hope not. That is not repentance.. Nor is it what God asked..

Well if it wasn't repentance, then I would wager a bet that I was the only person on earth who received the Holy Spirit without repenting, because a few days later, I met Him and my whole world and being was shaken to the core! :D

And one time, God sent me to a hospital to talk to a lady who was dying and the words He gave me were: all you have to do is close your eyes, go to God, and tell Him you're so sorry for ignoring Him and not caring what He thought.

She closed her eyes, (but wouldn't let go of my hand), and a few seconds later she began moaning and saying: oh, I'm so thirsty,,,I'm so thirsty. Her daughter jumped up from her chair and got a glass of water. She came to the bed and I said, she doesn't want water. But her daughter sat her up and tried to give it to her and the woman refused the water in great agitation. When her daughter gave up trying to get her to swallow any, she laid back down and closed her eyes again and I said, go to Him. And a few minutes later, she began to say, in a whisper, oh...peace...peace...peace...

I left and she died a few hours later, but never woke up again and spoke to any one.

It doesn't make me angry or hurt that you believe she and I aren't saved, but I think you need to learn that God doesn't always act and do according to your personal theological script. I turned to God. She turned to God. And in the same way He assured me I was His, He assured me she was with Him when I asked Him later in the evening, although He had already assured me of it as I left the hospital, but He was very condescending to me in His great love to answer me and reassure me a second time.

This is what I can't understand too. I wonder how people can't see that He begins to make us obedient to the law through the Holy Spirit's work. If His law was now of no account, why would He make me to be obedient to it through faith and love? Why would the Spirit go through such teachings for me about what murder truly was and what self love truly was, unless He didn't want these things in me and in control of me?

In my view, sin is the act of walking off the straight line and making our own path

The second we take our eyes of God, we are in sin, Whether we commit a sinfgul act or not. we have at that moment made ourself God.. and took control of our own lives.

That (if not put in check) can and will lead to overt acts of sin..

Where as if we keep our eye on the prise of the high calling (seek the things of the spirit) we will not even be tempted to sin.

The summary words sound great, walk the straight path, Amen, walking another path is wrong.

But what is the straight path, how do you define it? How are you aware where you are on the path?
Keeping your eyes on God, what is this? What is taking your eyes off God?

On your point about temptation, it is always present, no matter where you walk, because being
aware of good and evil, makes temptation always a possibility.

Dwelling in Christ for me, is not rules based but heart based. It is letting God point out issues
in your life, by listening to your conscience, reading His word, finding the place of peace with
Him. Fellowship, praise, are all part of this process. I am very much involved, and it is not
a question of my will or Gods will, but my submission through choice to Gods will.

So when I am wrong in an approach or attitude I will work through it, look with Christ at my
attitude, my heart, and to get insight into His view of everything. It gets more subtle as I
get older and I have to be more cautious, and loving to find His way through. One path?
I think there is a way of love, but many ways of expressing it, which the Lord wishes we
learn and explore. So rather than conformity, in love their is infinite diversity, which is its
beauty, knowing out of every action new things can grow. Does a parent limit their childs
celebration of art, or that within the constraints of the medium they express who they are.

May Christ be forever glorified in His love for a broken world which He is making healed and
whole through His people.

Are you obedient through the law or through love.

Again, I take you and JJ to galations 3. What was the purpose of the law.

Ah...I see now that you highlighted a part of my quote, EG. I misunderstood what you were saying. I'm sorry.

I was trying to answer your question about if I was aware of my sin at the time. So, I was trying to convey that the thought "sin" didn't enter into my mind. Only the horror of having not known He existed and so having ignored Him all my life.
Sorry for the mix up. I didn't see you had bolded part. :)

Amen, what a real reality of meeting God. God is so gracious to us when we come with
an honest open heart. Heaven is so founded on our hearts and how we express this reality.

As I said, When I get off the path, The HS chastens me to get me back on..

If the HS is not chastening me, I am not a child.. and I will never know the path, or make my own.

On your point about temptation, it is always present, no matter where you walk, because being
aware of good and evil, makes temptation always a possibility.

I guess then the point that if we seek after the things of the spirit, we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh has no meaning then, Because even then, we we in your view, would be tempted to fulfill th elust of the flesh.

And Jesus, when he said love does no harm, And does not take, it is meaningless. Because I can love, yet still sin.

this is where we disagree, If I listen to my conscious, My conscious may tell me it is ok to do things which are not ok in Gods eyes to do.. That is a dangerous thing to do. We must listen to God. Not self. Your self "conscious" spent its whole life deceiving you,, please do not think it will all of a sudden change its ways jest because you came to Christ.

The problem with the world today is it is listening to its conscious, and everyone conscious is saying different things.. Time to listen to God not self

Yes,, God is the one we need to look for glory, And give all the glory AMEN

I don't know how to answer that. I just suddenly saw that what I was reading was the truth and horror overcame me immediately. And I couldn't stand and I fell to the floor in a shattered heap and I couldn't even stand and get a tissue. And all I could keep sobbing over and over was: I'm so sorry, I didn't know, I'm so sorry.

I didn't lay there and say, forgive me of this sin and that sin and this sin. The thing that horrified me and broke my heart is that I hadn't known or seen He existed and so had just ignored any thought of Him all my life. And mixed in with the horror was a growing...relief? that...I wasn't alone in the world as I had thought and that maybe there was a purpose for my existing and that I had found it maybe...
I hope not. That is not repentance.. Nor is it what God asked..

"That is not repentance" - this is the strangest statement I have ever read, from
someone claiming to follow Christ.

It demonstrates the total gulf in emotional experience and walk with the Lord.

It is not something you can bridge, it is not an opinion, it is how the Kingdom is
established in peoples lives, and giving up of an individual to walk alone their way,
and submitting to who Christ is today in the here and now.

And to say this is not repentance, is to dismiss everything Jesus came to bring
to a sinful world. But it is also what I have been testifying to for over a year
with different people and their attitude towards the Lord.

There is no compromise with sin in the Lords eyes, or passing over unrepentant
sin in the believer.

So tell us Peter Do you remember every sin you have committed since birth. I mean you must, because you mocked me when I said that is not what repentance was. In fact, Do you even right now know every sin there is one may commit? Did you know that at birth? So how could you POSSIBLY say repent means to repent of individual sins peter. Please. Do tell.

Repent means to change ones thinking, it does not mean I have to confess every sin.

God did not ask you to name every sin to be saved, he asked you to have faith in his word and his work.. That means admitting you are a sinner, and as such, condemned and judged rightly by God. .

Maybe both of you should consider reading 2 Timothy 2:23-26?

I think if you read my post more carefully you will see that I answered that.

forgive, me, I saw you agree with a person who loves to try to enforce law in everyone. If you agreed with him, I could not but assume you were saying what he said was ok.

The only time mosaic law should come up in our churches is when.

1. It comes up in a study of Gods word,, where you are going verse to verse, chapter to chapter book to book.
2. It comes up with the study of one of the books of the Torah
3. When we are looking at our lives in the past tense, and trying to remember what it was which brought us to Christ,
when we are trying to share the gospel with someone who has not yet come to Christ. But in doing so being very careful not to judge,, but to show what's CHrist did, and biblical proof through the word that Jesus fulfilled the law. And how we all fall short
4. when it comes up in our daily bible reading (i.e. The study of Galatians, where Paul mentions it) yet always keeping it in context.

It should NEVER be used as a means to try to show people how to be righteous, or how to live the Christian life. For it can not, and will not do that. The only possible thing it can do to a believer is let them see how sinful they are. Or cause them to hide their sin, or walk away from God when they realize this (in churches who are 4law enforcers)
