Yes. :)
It started with one command. Don't eat that fruit.
Then 10 more came.
Then it became a mixed up and massive system of laws, even further complicated by the additions of men.
I see now what you meant when you said He simplified it for us so we would not be overwhelmed, by mercifully letting us know that all the law and the prophets are fulfilled by two commands that if we focus on and learn and obey in spirit and truth, we keep all the law of God. :)

If you're to believe the chronology of the Torah, then it didn't work like that. There were other commands that came before Mt. Sinai. ]

You can't hold me to exactitude because I paraphrase a lot, which is good because I'm a very wordy blabbermouth! :) You should always look it up yourself. Share your thought please? :)

From Adam through the giving of the law there was the oral tradition. This oral tradition was amended somewhat with the flood and God gave Noah His instructions called Noahic (sp) laws until Moses, and with Moses teh oral tradition was written down.

Now there is an enorrmous break in the oral laws, and that is when Abraham was given the Gospel, and the promises for his offspring.

If anyone cares to correct or add to my understanding, by all means your contributions are welcome.

Love works no ill towards their neighbor;therefore love is the fulfilling of the law,and the two greatest commandments is love God,and love people, those are the spiritual laws that everybody will be judged by whether they have the words of God or not.

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Creation testifies that there is a higher power, and His attributes, that created all things, and one of those attributes is love, for He provided food, and the means to make clothing, and shelter,so nobody has an excuse for not believing that.

So before the law was given, this universal law that extends to all who dwell upon the earth,is in place, and is today too,if they have not heard the word of God.

Abraham was not given the Gospel though, for the Gospel is spiritual salvation,a goal that they could not attain to in the Old Testament, for the blood of animals could not completely take away their sins,to be able to have the Spirit,to perfectly live up to the two greatest commandments, love God,and love people, but in the New,the blood of Christ takes our sins away completely, and we can have the Spirit to love perfectly.

Physical ordinances no longer apply, for they have no bearing on spiritual salvation.

A reminder which I believe bears repeating.

Which of the laws?

Do you suppose God now approves if you move the marker of your neighbor's land to favor your own?

Do you suppose God no longer asks thet we return our enemy's property should we come across it lost?

Does Jesus teach us to require an eye for an eye?

Is murder now acceptable behavior?

Are the dietary laws still to be observed?

Is the Seventh Day numbered by God now to be observed on the first day as per a pope?

Is Jesus now our High Priest rendering the Levitical priesthood ordinaces invalid?

Have all here actually understood what Jesus teaches as concerning how the law is not obsolet, but the curse of the law is?

Are all the popel, self-proclaimed lawyers, who say the law is dead certain they have studied and know the wWord well enough to determine wehat our Hevenly Fahter considers faithful and tru behavior under grace?

Why keep asking about the law when you have not studied the law and how Jesus taches us its evolution?

It is written in the law love they neighbor and to love God with all heart, soul and mind, and all of the law depends and is within these two laws, but this is not denying the law is yet extant, it is saying the law is obeyed in the sight of God when we truly love. If it iw there it still is in force. What is not in force is the death it renders to all law-breaker who do not recognize the mercy free for any who believe Jesus Christ.

Stop questionin God's wisdom and learn from Him, as He has commanded.....

We obey now because we know Love. God is Love. I know when He entered into my heart all I wanted, and want, is to know Him and to please Him. Pleasing Love is trusting His Wisdoem, and why not, He is the beginning of wisdom with no end.

You know a lot more than you thought. God bless you always. O, of course we are saved by grace only, but grace does not produce children of disobedience............ Good morning from Iberia....
