There are two woman in Israel, the harlot and the true church. The harlot Jerusalem/Israel paid other nations to have sex with her, that's biblical and that's what makes her the great harlot.. the other woman, the true church, were the believing Jews, Mary is one of them. Mary of the true Israel gave birth to Christ, not the Harlot. One is of the bond woman, the other is the free woman...ok, now I'm done.![]()
The woman is the city, which REIGNS over the KINGS of the earth. In other words, her influence and power is felt over the kings of the earth. Isreal could not make this claim in 70 AD. She did nto influence any king. let alone many kings. And she had no king herself
the woman sits on many waters, which means her influence is felt over many nations, peoples and languages, This is where her influence and power is felt. Isreal can not make this claim, especially in 70 ad.
This was true in soloman's day. She was in the position and if she hadn't disobeyed she'd still be there. Just wasn't God's plan
1 Kings 4:21
New King James Version (NKJV)
21 So Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the River[a] to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.
the problem is you thing every time you read the word earth, it's referring the whole earth, when actually it could mean land, meaning Palestine..Let's drop it, you won't see!!!
You basically got everything right but the time frame, Revelations wasn't written to us, but for us. You don't SEE it, so I'm done, GN
Ok, I am only gonna touch on this part because I am too lazy to talk about the rest right now.
The woman is a city...America is a country... that right there is a good idea America is not Babylon.
Rome is a city. Ancient Rome was also one of the largest empires in the ancient world. Rome also dominated most of Europe. Asia Minor and North Africa.
Rome was also very advanced for its time in architecture and technology. They had a VERY strong military as well.
The Seven Hills of Rome east of the river Tiber form the geographical heart of Rome, within the walls of the ancient city.
The seven hills are:
Aventine Hill
Caelian Hill
Capitoline Hill
Esquiline Hill
Palatine Hill
Quirinal Hill
Viminal Hill
This is all talking about ancient Rome. Could it be that John was referring to Rome??????
Looks to me like this ancient city had quite alot of influence. Still does as a matter of fact.
The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. 10They are also seven kings
This makes no sense whatsoever.
The OT states emphatically, Isreal played the harlot. No one ever played the harlot with Isreal.
The church can not be the second woman.
1. She did not give birth to Christ, Christ gave birth to her.
2. She is the offspring of the woman, who is Isreal.
if there are two womans, and the church is one, Who is the churches offspring? did it give bvirth to another church? this makes no sense. If the woman is Isreal. Why did God say he would protect her to the end? either way, your theory has many problems.
what version is this? just curious
9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits. 10 There are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time. 11 The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition.
16The beast and the ten horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
Now check this out...
The Great Fire of Rome (Latin: Magnum Incendium Romae) was an urban fire that occurred beginning 19 July AD 64.[1]
According to Tacitus, the fire spread quickly and burned for six days.[2]:XV.40 Only four of the fourteen districts of Rome escaped the fire; three districts were completely destroyed and the other seven suffered serious damage.

It was NIV... and wow... I see that now... hmmmmmmmmm
Sounds great, Jerusalem was destroyed by fire. does this prove she was the harlot? does it prove another city will not be destroyed by fire?
I am not tryng to be mean, I just see a few points which show Isreal might be the harlot. But there are far to many things about her which can not be attributed to Isreal.
Yet that does prove the the 7 hills are literal and not kings.
If it was king then it would say "the seven heads are seven kings.....there are also seven kings... unless kings in verse 10 was symbolic for something else... then it just gets confusing.
