A person can say to Jesus, Lord, Lord (and thus be identified as a Christian) and yet not be saved (see Matthew 7:21-23).

Sir,you are twisting that scripture to say they are "Christian" (a term I dislike BC it too has been twisted to fit mans agenda)
At Antioch they were first called CHRIST.....IANS BC they were followers of the CHRIST!

Followers of Christ get it?
Followers of Christ!

You disagree with this and you disagree with scripture and even the Lord Himself.

We can have all the attributes of the word applied to us in our own mind but ARROGANCE just kills them!
Oooops ,sorry but you come across as VERY VERY arrogant not sometimes but always.

sounds like this good warning

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

This is what you are disagreeing with.

Mat 7:21, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23, And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The very words of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

People are identified as Christians today merely if they say to Jesus, Lord, Lord.

And I'm talking about who is or is not identified as a Christian today.

I agree that the only true Christians are the born again type.

There are certain Christians, which can be identified as "nominal" who are not truly born again; but they are identified as Christians and they themselves believe that they are Christians.

If you think that you are a Christian, you may be one of them.

But if you are born again, then His Spirit testifies with your spirit that you are a child of God (Romans 8:16).

I would only say that it is important to be obedient to what it says in 2 Corinthians 13:5.

What does Scripture say?

Num 23v23: "For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel...

Luke 10v19: " Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (triple negative in the Greek text here, and so would better read, "nothing shall, by any means, at all hurt you.")

1John 5v18: " We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him."

Rev 12v11: "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony..."

1John 4v4: " You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."

In Job chapters 1 & 2, Satan complains to God that he can't even get near the livestock Job owns, never mind Job or his family, because of the hedge that God put around Job and all that he owned!

The protection around Christians is VERY real, and we can increase it by prayer and praise and worship.

So, can a witch put a curse on a Christian, well, they can try, but it will not be effective, and indeed the witch is in very danger from God, for He guards His children?

Psalm 121: " I will lift up my eyes to the hills — From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Also, look at Psalm 91....and MANY other Scriptures!
There are several books out that tell of the experiences of exorcist such as Malachi Martin. They all agree that demons only respond to Christ, and it is only through the power of Christ that they can be dealt with.

We had a warlock in our neighborhood who set up a meeting we all were invited to, he said he would demonstrate his power. I and a friend decided to go and sit in prayer as he said he would raise a table by laying his hands on the table. He failed.

brother all due respect but that is not our judgement to be making the babes in Christ have thier own relationship with him as we do . We aren’t apppinted to tear down struggling believers or assure them they aren’t Christians that’s not our determination to make

we’re appointed to accept the the weak in faith and work towards building one another up in faith.

“Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

…. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:1, 10-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Remember when the “righteous” man invited Jesus to dine and the known sinful woman showed up and barges in interrupting thier dinner ? And the righteous guy thought “ she’s an unworthy sinner not worthy to touch Jesus “

“And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.

Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.

And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who is this that forgiveth sins also? And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭7:44-50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it’s only jesus who gets to accept or reject each believer we’re called to love each other build up and provoke one another to love and maintaining good works . Bear one another’s burdens ect

until this day when he will accept or reject those calling themselves by his name following after Jesus comes along over a lifetime some people just aren’t where others are so judgement is impossible from one to another but Gid has all the judgement worked out

“For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:4-5‬ ‭

think of the thief on the cross , only Jesus mercy and compassion for his repentance saved him. If someone believes brother it isn’t our place to judge then authentic or not they will stand also before the lord accounting for only what they did and said and then we also will only for our deeds and words

they certainly recognize Jesus authority in the gospel they tremble at his presence .

I’m reminded of this section of scripture

“Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.”

Most assuredly, Jesus is the only judge of who is truly born again or not.

However, are we not supposed to bring to bear on the believer's understanding the following information?

Mat 7:21, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22, Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23, And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I don't think that it is judging individual Christians to bring to bear this information upon their understanding.

I leave it to the Holy Spirit to apply it to each individual's life as He sees fit.

The information in question may in fact be the very thing that causes them to cross over from a nominal Christianity into being truly born again.

Also, Jesus said that many false prophets would come in the clothing of sheep but that inwardly they are ravening wolves.

And He said that we would know them by their fruits.

Indeed we know what is written in Romans 10:9-10 on the matter.

But if Jesus is not your Lord, is it a true confession to call Him your Lord?

I would contend that such a thing is mere lip service; and lip service won't cut it because it is not a true confession.

Because if Jesus is not your Lord, to say that He is, is not to agree with God. Because God, in truth, is saying that He is not your Lord. So, to say that He is, is not to agree with Him.

Luk 6:46, And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

what won't cut it is Bible thumpers like you acting all high and mighty and just going around judging another's relationship with Jesus.

get off your religious high horse and remember that you are nothing more than a sinner saved by grace...

How about a suggestion? Do a word study on Lord! Few can grasp the entire meaning of the word.
