Just a quiz because I thought it would be fun. Honestly, I do think this is basically telling me the roots of my lonelyness. And I can already tell you that I'm not getting enough physical touch(other than my parents) and quality time.

10 - Physical Touch
9 - Quality Time
6 - Words of Affirmation
3 - Acts of Service
2 - Receiving Gifts

Super, dotdudebrobuddy, constructing up a touchy-feely, giving, serving, timely time of year thread; well done, My child.

I like this song, to be said, to explain my primary love language, which is as He leads me to see what's needed, but...

Words of affirmation - 4
Physical touch - 4
QT - 6
Service acts - 6
Receiving gifts- 4

I think I give and receive love in different ways... would need to do the quiz again, I find my personality seems to be quite flexible over years.... not a bad thing. :)

This being said... Mainly a quality time person with physical touch up there as well. Not great on the acts of service thing.

10 Quality Time
7 Receiving Gifts
6 Acts of Service
4 Physical Touch
3 Words of Affirmation

I guess I like to recieve love as I like to express it. :)

Very interesting thing is with words of affirmation. I always like to remind my friends how cool they are->but I guess it is not so important for me. But I like to hear it from time to time.

Quality time and physical touch are at the top for me, in that order.

I'm convinced there is a sixth love language, foods of affirmation.

So if you give a person indigestion with your cooking... are they still being affirmed? :)

I like to utilize any and every love language available, but I would say touch and words are my strongest areas, gifts are a runner-up, and time/service are my "areas that can use improvement."

It depends on what the time and service would be--watching movies, deep conversations, hanging out, no problem.

Spending time to say, iron your laundry? Not so much. I can definitely find other ways to express my devotion. :) (Perhaps by, gulp, sharing, ack, my favorite candy bar with you.)

My wife loves to give and recieve any kind of greeting cards. So thats an easy one.
She appreciates it when I clean out the refrigerator. She hates that job.

10- Receiving Gifts
8- Words of Affirmation
8- Quality Time
4- Acts of Service
0- Physical Touch

Receiving Gifts-
Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous—so would the absence of everyday gestures.

Hmm.. well 0 for physical touch, I don't think thats really accurate... I'm single, so I usually don't hold hands or cuddle with my friends lol. I think if I were to marry, physical touch would be higher. But as a single person, I guess I really don't need it.

Great idea for a thread Doth! :)

11 Quality Time

Did I get the only 11? Oh my. :/

OK, am I the only person that isn't seeing a link to said quiz that gives the results? Or am I just blind?

Well yes, but also I've already taken the quiz in the back of the book. :P

Though that was like 3 years ago, so I retook it anyways.

Hm.. looking at the poll answers, I have a feeling that I might be the only Gifts. Maybe its rare? Or maybe people shy away from the desire, because they are afraid they will be perceived as materialistic or selfish?

As for me, I honestly place very little value on gifts. I would much rather receive gifts of time. I guess that's the thing to keep in mind, it isn't that I don't value receiving gifts, its just that the gifts that I value are spending time with someone. The gift of time in and of itself is more worthwhile to me than any physical thing. Even if they spent just as much time thinking about/creating the gift.
