Jesus did not tell the solider to stop being a solider.

Jesus said for His disciples to buy a sword and possesions before He died on the cross...

You protests so far aren't taught in the Bible...so no my church does not teach those false beliefs you hold so dear.

Jesus told us we are to love our enemies. How do you know what Jesus said to the soldier? John the Baptist did not tell the soldiers not to be soldiers because John was still under the Old Law.

Do you believe then that Jesus meant for the apostles to use swords to kill people? Swords to defend themselves? Do you believe two swords would be enough to defend all of them?
Do you believe Jesus was saying what he preached about loving his or her enemies was not any longer true?
The following is what the translators of the Jerusalem bible thought Jesus was telling the disciples.
The purse to buy, the sword to procure by force the necessities of life. All this is symbolic of a mission is a hostile world.
The apostles have taken the words of Jesus two literally and he closes the conversation abruptly.

Is that so? Tell me do you tell people that a Christian does not sin? Do you tell your people that it is a sin to fight in one’s countries army? Do you tell your people that (Luke 14:33) “So in the same way, none of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all his possessions.”

Do I need to keep going?

By the way my thread asked the question if one’s church is condemned. Also I qualified my statement about churches as Denominational Churches. I know what the denominational churches teach.
Are you telling me I am to give up all my posessions? I am not to provide a home and food for my wife and daughter?
I am not to have a truck so I can go to work every day?
That is foolishness. The Scripture teaches that a man that will not provide for his own family is worse than an infidel.
Are you an infidel?
I see you have not given up your computer or internet. Why not? Is that not a posseson?
When you say you know what all denomination churches teach you lie.
I am Landmark Missionary Baptist. Tell me what I teach.

Why would Jesus tell them to buy a sword?

*And He said to them, “When I sent you without money bag, knapsack, and sandals, did you lack anything?”So they said, “Nothing.”*Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. *For I say to you that this which is written must still be accomplished in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For the things concerning Me have an end.”*So they said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.”And He said to them, “It is enough.” - Luke 22:35-38 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke22:35-38&version=NKJV

What an utterly foolish statement... for a third person to make. (Like that?)

I am not telling you anything, but I am sharing what Jesus told us. By the way when Jesus asked me to give him my life, and I was about to say yes, the Holy Spirit let me know that I would lose everything owned by me if I gave my life to Jesus Christ our Lord and God. It was not many months before I was living in a tent with my young wife, three babies, and my wife’s dog.
Yes Jesus had me live for many years living on minimum wages. So I don’t know what God would have you do, but God made sure that I lived his Word.

You are allowing your pride and misconceptions about what the Bible teaches isolate yourself from growing and working as a fully functioning member of the body of Christ.

You are not sinless. Pride is a sin.

No one is sinless except Christ Jesus, but we can be held blameless because He covers us with His blood.

That is what the word propitation of sins means.

How do you deal with the scriptures about being one member in the Body of the Bride?

Do you think that by saying I am committing a sin of pride, which makes you right? Do you have scripture that says I am wrong?

And yet John/Jack is allowed to preach his false teachings like they're going out of style? What's the deal, mods?

opinons are not an issue attacks are that is what I have addressed it is not the job of the mod to agree with them but it is our job to address rudeness which I have . No infraction have been given but if one has an issue with a person and then attacks them after they make a comment on the bible that is not seen as a normal biblical doctrine ... i'm sure those here are very much able to see that no?

There are countless threads about rather a Christian has to be sinless or not, what perfection means, how one obtains it, etc.

It would take a lengthy dialogue.

Do you really want to engage in it?
Personally I don't mind if we both come to the discussion humbling before God and willing to admit that what we believe might be wrong.

And we pray together before we begin the discussion.

You game?

Or we can have this discussion?

Examine the centurion solider who became a follower of Jesus?

John/Jack has been condemning everyone and everything. How is that not an attack?
