There was absolutely no connection between the house plants and Everest, rather the title was just there. Now, go back to sleep, lest you have another such idea in your midst! (One can neither get by with sound doctrine or a joke around here...)
Check the nouns in your sentences. It fit.

And you forget the other choice -- there is always holier-than thou and I'm-the-boss attitude that goes over, but not Mt. Everest, (or even a small hill in South Jersey. You have lately chosen to go with holier-than-thou. I was merely trying to lighten the scowling affect your kind brings to too many post on here. My-way-or-the-highway isn't playing everywhere, even if you are sure it is.

I express my opinion on some things, never once expressing any holiness of myself but speaking to God's holiness, and against some things, such as false cult doctrines, which include self-righteous doctrines. And let us be totally frank about the real problem, which is that you refuse to buy underwear that isn't three sizes too small. But, sorry, that's, as always, a personal problem, and I so need the approval of people like you, you think? I always expect and enjoy your inevitable personal attacks, but you do show way too much fang, too many times. Just a tip that you should watch that, that it begins to look like your true colors, know what I mean?
ok this crossed the line remove the post or I will help you .

nummmm......maybe cause there are so many Christians who think they are so real they get to smack all the fake Christians over the head with their family edition, giant print, gold leaf edged, printed on vellum KJV Bible...with births, marriages and death recorded

sometimes I feel pretty fake

there is so much disagreement in the BDF at times it's like people are ripping apart the body...so who is the bad guy then?

are some folks off their ever loving rocker with what they believe?

are some folks preaching when they should be discussing?

are some folks snotty and condescending?

so like, guess whoever is doing that considers the other participants as a bunch of weeds

God is definately saying something in the mess but who is listening?

often it's a wrestling match, but folks are wrestling the wrong thing...

Jesus did not call Judas names, but He sure knew what Judas was about...Judas had a purpose...but Jesus said 'woe unto him'

I better add cause I don't want it misinterpreted...nothing against the KJV...just that most of those giant Bibles are KJV

my first Bible was KJV and when I try to remember a verse, it usually is in the KJ language

Why does He allow them to deceive us with their false Doctrines? What is God's purpose in allowing False Prophets to exist?

ok...well I popped in without really reading the op...whoops guilty as charged

so Mike, God does sometimes actually allow deception...however, that is not His desired plan and not in His best interests for us

Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd...He says His sheep know His voice and follow Him, but the voice of a stranger, they will not follow

does that suggest something?

who are all these 'deceived', if they are deceived, fake Christians following?

Are we following a favorite preacher? hey ~ I have a few too...but Paul commended the Bereans for making sure what they heard from him, was solid

we have a responsibility

ps...our hearts are often tested and sometimes when we least expect it...we should make it a regular practice to ask God to reveal our hearts to us...since they are so desperately wicked and all :)

did you mean to say ..

888

 for some reason when I tried to send the post before the 888=== it didn't take, so I hit it again and it went twice! So I didn't know how to cancel the 2nd one so deleted it word by word and threw some 8s in instead because it wouldn't let me cancel the post. And if it does, I just don't know how to cancel it once it gets posted.

I probably will be tarred and feathered or run out on a rail on this post... But really, What is important in being a Christian. Isn't the gospel the most important part? Understanding salvation and what Jesus did for us and accepting it?

Churches seem to come up with lots of different doctrines, kind of reminds me of all the rules the religious leaders imposed on the people in Jesus time. Do this, don't do that....

I mean really if we don't use musical instruments in church is that going to save us? Or if we are vegetarians will we be saved for that? Or if you are dunked in water that saves you? Different churches believe that these things are important....

Don't you think that God has many ways to lead people to Him? I bet He even uses all these different churches that believe all these different things and incorporate them into their doctrines to reach people to come to Him and accept Jesus as their Savior.

I don't think of folks as being false Christians just because they don't believe exactly the way I do, because I think we Christians are in different places in our walk with God. I like to think of it as we are on different rungs of the ladder that is reaching to heaven and some of us have a little more knowledge than someone else and then another person knows a little more than we do, but it doesn't mean we aren't all on the same ladder with the same goal in mind....getting to heaven and living with God.

Because the most important thing is the Gospel of Salvation and accepting Jesus as your Savior and then listening to His voice telling you what you need to be doing to become more and more like Him... Learning to love the Lord with all our hearts and our neighbors as ourselves.... Just a few Blond thoughts....

I think part of the reason God allows us to face so much evil and deception is to give us opportunities to grow in our love for Him. Do we love Him enough to work through the evil and deception, or do we give up and, through our actions, say "Lord, I don't love you enough to seek the truth of you in this. I am comfortable where I am at."

That is one of the reasons God allows bad things to happen to us - so we will stop being complacent and get serious with Him again. That is not the only reason, but it has been my experience at times.

Romans 5:3-5 -

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love."

i figured something like that ;)
i should explain too --

Jesus in koine Greek gematria sums to 888
(that numerology thing people use usually to associate names with 666)

so some number of people would recognize 888 is a reference to Christ :)
now you will too!

That's okay. I was joking too. I found Premiere League, but didn't pick up on the "English" part. I'm assuming the English don't feel a need to mention they're English. lol

I do think there are false Christians. The obvious ones are Joel Olsteen, The Copelands, and Creflo Dollar. Anyone who teaches a Christian message void of Christ all together is a false Christian.

There was a false Christian leading a church I joined right after he took a bunch of the young people to another state to raise enough money working so he didn't have to work, but he could serve one of the higher ups -- THE inner circle of that nondenom denom.

-- When the message is "serve me and I'll serve God," that's a false Christian.
-- When the message is "give me money to please God," that's a false Christian.
-- When the message is "follow this formula and you will live right," that's a false Christian.
-- When the message is "believe exactly as I do or you're wrong," that's a highly questionable Christian. Maybe the person isn't all the way to false yet, but it is something to be leery about. It is someone not to trust.

I think we are safe that far at the very least.

And when we hit borderline Christians, it is time to speak up. That guy who took all the young people was borderline two years before he did that. He passed that border a year before. Too many were giving him a benefit of a doubt way past when it was no doubt.

One of the main problems with this site is many people think anyone who doesn't get minor issues just like they get them automatically assumes it's time to scream "WOLF!" What if it's just a goat? For that matter what if it's just a sheep of a different type?
A. The person may be right and we're wrong.
B. "Babes in Christ" on this site is never a literal thing. If someone is old enough to type real words, they aren't babes. Common sense can, and should, come in play. So should the concept that we could be the ones not using our common sense.

There are false Christians. It is worth bringing up when we are sure. It's worth watching until we're sure. But is it worth mentioning before we're sure?

I still don't know. There are some people on this site who I'm pretty sure aren't Christians. I'm just no positive. What they're preaching is funky. I won't follow it. But should I speak up and call them false before I know? I don't know if I should, but I do. Should we? And, if we think we should, does that mean every thread has to end in an argument?
