Cobus, Cobus, Cobus, (plants forehead in palm of left hand).

How about talking about Salvation through Jesus Christ instead of how "perfect" you are. You seem like a one trick pony when I read your'e posts.

When I read that I thought of this...... ;)

Sorry thats not enough dude.

You need to crucify your flesh daiily...and deny yourself every second of the day....and hate yourself, and tremble with fright at God.....and then die...

...and then REALLY crucify your flesh again...(and never have fun or smile..basically become Russian)

...and mumble some gibberish. And then deny yourself some more.
ROTFLMHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zone let me ask you this... When i do sin, am I following the Holy Spirits lead? No! i follow my own. But I know I can come back where I left Him, or He comes back for me? Do you think it is now Possible to ask the Holy Spirit to lead me closer, so I do not AGAIN do the SAME thing, oh by the way I do not like doing it but before I can stop i did it. Do you think God can help with this. I hope so!

Zone you know I have always loved you, and I still do, and I can see you are a serious seeker, me too... I just seek a bit more from God than you, and God will exceed both our expectations. WHY because HE promised...SEEK and thou shall find!...

Listen Zone, we do not have much time left, in stead of arguing, may I raise the white flag and surrender? God knows my heart, and He knows me better than I know myself, or so I hope. I truly hope God knows me, if not, then you introduce us OK!

You know me well, you know I am not a hypocrate, I am not scared to open the books and chambers of my heart. And you know I love as much as I can, and there where my life is still a mess, I CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! But maybe, just maybe, you can! So do not harden your heart to me today, just for today the 24th of August. I will also not harden my heart, and let us see what God does for BOTH of us, if we REALLY care for eachother, just 24 hours.

I love you and I need Jesus, to fill me with HIS love so that I can also love myself as much as I would like to love me. Sorry I would lie if I tell you I love myself, I think I am so confused, I love EVERYBODY more than myself, I still think EVERYBODY is better off than me. I am a wreched man, who will save me, or would wnat to save me? I am so wreched and crooket and evil... May God have mercy on me! Amen!

hey cobus
i ain't buying what you're selling.
i think you're a troll.
buzz off.

Is it to much to ask that NO ONE comment on this unless they are going to talk about 1 John. THAT is what this thread is about. 1 JOHN. I would like to discus 1 JOHN

if your going to be rude, sarcastic, pridefull, arrogant, nasty, and act nothing like Jesus, DO NOT COMMENT. Please. If you are commenting on this thread just to see your words.
PRAY against that temptation.

We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

.

Hate to burst anyone's bubble that thinks they are PERFECT....but you arent!
This means we as Christians can be forgiven because of repentence
Really, is that what it means?.. I'd love it if u could explain how it means this :)

I'll talk to you about 1 John DF.

we're on chapter 3 right?

1 John 3

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God![a] Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

Isn't that verse just wonderful? I could just stop right there and think about that all day :)

however here can be a problem text for some...

1 John 3

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

so the question is can a child of God sin?

Can they ever be lawless? If you sin does that mean you haven't SEEN God or truly Known Him?

what does it mean to SEE or KNOW God?

what does it really mean to be a son of God? (warning this is where some people go off the deep in and talk about having the glorified bodies before the resurrection and such)

Pietism?

Pietism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pietism (from the word piety) was a movement within Lutheranism, lasting from the late 17th century to the mid-18th century and later. It proved to be very influential throughout Protestantism and Anabaptism, inspiring not only Anglican priest John Wesley to begin the Methodist movement, but also Alexander Mack to begin the Brethren movement. The Pietist movement combined the Lutheranism of the time with the Reformed emphasis on individual piety and living a vigorous Christian life.[1] Though pietism shares an emphasis on personal behavior with the Puritan movement, and the two are often confused, there are important differences, particularly in the concept of the role of religion in government.[2]

and this is probably why Zone thinks its false.....

Critical Issues Commentary: How Pietism deceives Christians

"
Pietism is difficult to define because it can be taught and practiced in an unlimited number of ways. Some versions appear to be innocuous while others are so radical that most people would see that something is wrong. I now know that no version of pietism is actually innocuous. If a teaching is called pietism but teaches no more than what God has always used to sanctify Christians, then it is not really pietism. Real pietism always harms those who embrace it.

The essence of pietism is this: It is a practice designed to lead to an experience that purports to give one an elite or special status compared to ordinary Christians. The Bible addresses this error in the book of Colossians.4 The false teachers in Colossae claimed to have the secret to a superior Christian experience that would cause people to rise above the bad “fate” they feared. Paul went on to explain that they already had everything they needed through Christ and His work on the cross. Another way of stating this is: If after having fully trusted Christ’s finished work on the cross, you are told that you are still lacking something, you are being taught pietism."

and it would be an attempt at this kind of debating tactic...

ok back to 1 John 3?

good job ana:D

that's exactly right.
its an ancient heresy, taught at Colossae.
today, its mixed with charismaticism/perfectionism/second baptism and contemplative activity.

i'll rep you again for this homework...but they wont let me yet:rolleyes:
