1 John 2:12 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name's sake.

have been forgiven = perfect passive

perfect = The perfect tense expresses perfective action. Perfective action involves a present state which has resulted from a past action. The present state is a continuing state; the past action is a completed action. It is continuously in the present

passive = voice = action is happening to you....you are not doing it

Without a doubt this verse says that the sins are forgiven from a past action that remains in a continuous state and that was put on them....not something they did

Brethren ...we have a great salvation in our Lord!

Here are some more scriptures on the forgiveness of God thru the precious blood of our Lord!..

Ephesians 1:7 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

We have redemption = present continuous action...so this means we have present continuous forgiveness of our sins...and look...that hyper-grace stuff shows up again!...it's all according to our loving Father's grace that He has given to us in Christ our Lord.

Colossians 1:13-14 (NASB)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
[SUP]14 [/SUP] in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Same thing here too...present continuous action = forgiveness of sins

Redemption!..we have been bought with the precious Blood of Jesus... Let's honor His work!

Sadly, I fear you do not know God at all.

God, who foretold the 4 gentile kingdoms, Who foretold literal events thousands of years in advance, Who knows the end of the age, and foretells us how it will all work out. Who David said knew him completely while he was in his mothers womb.

This same God deos not know what Sins I am going to commit. and did not know about them when he died (now this is scary, because how could he suffer for them if he did not know them).

You want to beg God to forgive you, Feel free. I thank God every day for saving my eternal soul. and forgiving me for all the trash I did that day..
(hidden) Manna is only edible on the day it is given. Yesterday's manna kept for another day turns into corruption. That's the difference between living on yesterday's forgiveness of sin and living on today's abiding forgiveness of sin.

And Moses said, Let no man leave of [manna] till the morning. Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. Exodus 16:19-20

I don't beg GOD for forgiveness. I have faith. I approach the throne with confidence.

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
Heb 10:26-27

There is a reason why hyper-grace people do not like Hebrews 10. Hebrews is saying sacrifices were only for present sins done up to that point in time, but had to be repeated every year which reminded the people of the temporary nature of the forgiveness. Jesus on the other hand brought complete forgiveness, and the ability to walk in righteousness.

The downside is if you continue after walking in this grace you decide to side with sin. There is no return only fearful condemnation.

Now this does not work well with a theology which says it does not matter how you behave under grace, when if you accept the message and carry on in stubborn sin you are blasted into the hell.

So they pick and choose rather than try and discern the reality.

Hebrews 10 is a beautiful chapter on the great sacrifice of our Lord! It's talking about the Jews rejecting the sacrifice of Jesus as their Messiah and going to the temple for sacrifices instead of believing on Christ as their Savior.

I get asked more questions on Hebrews 10:26 than any other verse in the Bible. Evidently, this is a verse that troubles many Christians:

If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left (Heb 10:26)

Wow! That looks scary! Let’s take a quick survey. Please put your hand up if you have lived a sinless life since accepting Jesus as your Savior. Hmmm. I don’t see any hands. I have been saved for decades and – if I’m honest with you – I cannot say my performance has been flawless throughout that period.

Ha! It’s easy for me to make jokes. I’ve been set free. I no longer mine at the pits of religion with condemnation. I’m drawing from the wells of salvation with joy!

The wrong way to interpret Hebrews 10:26

All jokes aside, Hebrews 10:26 is an oft-abused scripture. If you wanted to use this verse to scare people, there are a couple of angles you could take:

1. You could use this verse to present a “balanced” view of God, like this: “He is a God of grace and He is a God of judgment. He’s not some senile Santa in the sky. He’s a God of vengeance and a consuming fire. It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

2. You could also use this verse to preach works: “You will be judged according to the light of your revelation and those who have received the knowledge of the truth will be held to the highest standard. It’s time for judgment to begin in the house of God. If you fall away it is impossible to be brought back to repentance!”

What is the problem with these messages? Well if you listen to the first one you’re going to come away thinking that God is schizophrenic, at war with His own nature. He loves you, but He doesn’t. It’s unconditional love – with conditions. And if you listen to the second you will either end up a religious fraud or a nervous wreck. You may even wish that you had never heard the gospel because ignorance is bliss.

The tricky part with these false messages is that they are composed of true statements. Our God is a consuming fire. But the interpretation is all wrong. They are anti-cross and anti-Christ. Any message that tells you that God is double-minded or that the good news is bad news ought to be rejected. You know that, right? Good.

So how do we read Hebrews 10:26?

Hebrews 10 is a beautiful chapter on the great sacrifice of our Lord! It's talking about the Jews rejecting the sacrifice of Jesus as their Messiah and going to the temple for sacrifices instead of believing on Christ as their Savior.
This man has real arrogance.

who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them
Heb 10:19

Only a believer is sanctified by Jesus's blood. The warning is plain, those who walk with Jesus and then fall into willful sin have nothing left to comeback to, because there is not a repeat sacrifice.

It is a hard saying because some have become bitter and turned away from the Lord. Often this is not to willful sin but self pity and self indulgence. The warning is plain though, be careful how you walk. Righteousness matters.

Ofcourse hyper-grace hate this concept because it denies their model, and again it is humour and scoffing they use to shrug off scripture.

It makes me wonder at do they know who the righteous judge of the universe actually is and how judgement works.
There is an arrogance that expects too much by talking about Jesus like a get out of jail free card, when the power of Jesus is to empower us to walk righteously. So the aim is to walk in righteousness, and if you fail something is wrong.

Scoffing at warnings is a sign of deep spiritual corruption and a lack of understanding how sin works and deception of the spirit of man. Do you think any scoffing sinners attitude is any different from this? Do you know who you are saying you are alike by behaving like this?

Arrogance

How do you insult the Spirit of grace?
If I was to give you a free car out of the generosity of my heart, but you insisted on paying for it, I would be insulted. Similarly, we insult the Spirit of grace by trying to pay, with works and sacrifices, what God has freely given us. (Paul Ellis)

The approach here is to rebuke those who do good works and make sacrifices to help others, and this is an insult to God.
Woe to these preachers of condemnation, for hell becons them on.

I do not know why people are doing good works or making sacrifices but good on them for their generosity.
If you belonged to this group would you be caught doing either of these things if this is their teaching.

What Jesus taught is we are called to do good works planned from eternity to the praise of the Lord, to be lights on a hill to His glory. If anything Jesus is saying abound in good works, work till you drop and do it as if working for the Lord and not man.

This is 100% the opposite of what these preachers are saying and that should worry them to the depths of their souls.
But they believe God loves them so much, it does not matter, it is the hypocrites who are doing the wrong things and trying to earn favour. The fact that people might actually love the people they are helping and being real does not seem to cross their minds.

It may appear that only believers are sanctified but scripture bears there are others that are sanctified as well as believers..

The word "sanctified" means "set apart"...all people are set apart for the gospel....Christ has died for the whole world. All men are "set apart" for salvation...we hope that they will accept Jesus sacrifice for them...just as the writer of Hebrews exhorted the Jews to accept His sacrifice and not depend on the old Jewish temple sacrifices as in Heb 10....

1 Timothy 4:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

Even the unbelieving husband is "sanctified"...

1 Corinthians 7:14 (KJV)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Here is what arrogance looks like...

Here is a perfect example of religious people sounding so pious and trying to 'defend their D.I.Y righteousness/holiness"...but in effect are grace-haters and grace-fearing too..

John 9

As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth.
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” [SUP]
3
[/SUP]Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Having said these things, he spit on the ground and made mud with the saliva. Then he anointed the man's eyes with the mud
[SUP]7 [/SUP]and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). So he went and washed and came back seeing.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar were saying, “Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?” [SUP]9 [/SUP]Some said, “It is he.” Others said, “No, but he is like him.” He kept saying, “I am the man.”
[SUP]10 [/SUP]So they said to him, “Then how were your eyes opened?”
[SUP]11 [/SUP]He answered, “The man called Jesus made mud and anointed my eyes and said to me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed and received my sight.”
[SUP]12 [/SUP]They said to him, “Where is he?” He said, “I do not know.”
[SUP]13 [/SUP]They brought to the Pharisees the man who had formerly been blind.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Now it was a Sabbath day when Jesus made the mud and opened his eyes. ( I'm pretty sure Jesus does this on purpose as a lot of His healings were done on their Sabbath day )
[SUP]15 [/SUP]So the Pharisees again asked him how he had received his sight. And he said to them, “He put mud on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.”
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath.” (typical religious attack again..He doesn't keep the Law..He is lawless ) But others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]So they said again to the blind man, “What do you say about him, since he has opened your eyes?” He said, “He is a prophet.” ( typical response to grace being displayed ..this man being attacked)
[SUP]18 [/SUP]The Jews did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight, until they called the parents of the man who had received his sight
[SUP]19 [/SUP]and asked them, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
[SUP]20 [/SUP]His parents answered, “We know that this is our son and that he was born blind. [SUP]
21
[/SUP]But how he now sees we do not know, nor do we know who opened his eyes. Ask him; he is of age. He will speak for himself.” [SUP]
22
[/SUP](His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus[SUP][b][/SUP] to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.)
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
[SUP]24 [/SUP]So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.” ( typical religious sounding words )[SUP]
25
[/SUP]He answered, “Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.” (typical response from a person that now "sees" the grace of Christ in them )
[SUP]26 [/SUP]They said to him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?”
[SUP]27 [/SUP]He answered them, “I have told you already, and you would not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become his disciples?” ( how many times do we keep saying the same things over and over again? )
[SUP]28 [/SUP]And they reviled him, saying, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses. (typical D.I.Y righteousness/holiness types response )
[SUP]29 [/SUP]We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where he comes from.” ( typical D.I.Y righteousness/holiness types response )
[SUP]30 [/SUP]The man answered, “Why, this is an amazing thing! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes. [SUP]
31
[/SUP]We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. [SUP]
32
[/SUP]Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind. [SUP]
33 [/SUP]
If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”
[SUP]
34
[/SUP]They answered him, “You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?” And they cast him out. ( again typical D.I.Y holiness types response )
[SUP]35 [/SUP]Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
[SUP]36 [/SUP]He answered, “And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?”
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.” [SUP]
38
[/SUP]He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him. ( this is the response of us to the grace of the gospel of Christ shown to us )

[SUP]39 [/SUP]Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.”
[SUP]
40
[/SUP]Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?”

[SUP]41 [/SUP]Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains

I have no problem with Hebrews 10. To "sin willfully" (Hebrews 10:26) in the Greek carries the idea of deliberate intention that is habitual, which stems from rejecting Christ deliberately. This is CONTINUOUS ACTION - A MATTER OF PRACTICE. Now we don't walk along our daily life and "accidentally" fall into a pit called sin. We exercise our will but, the use of the participle clearly shows a CONTINUOUS ACTION. The unrighteous practice sin - 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21 not the righteous, who are born of God - 1 Corinthians 6:11; 1 John 3:9.

The reference to "the blood of the covenant that sanctified him" in v. 29 seems to be referring to a Christian, but this overlooks the fact that the word translated "sanctified" (which is a term often applied to Christians; is the verb form of the adjective "holy") which means "set apart," and doesn't necessarily refer to salvation. In 1 Corinthians 7:14, Paul uses it to specifically refer to non-Christians who are "sanctified" or "set apart" by their believing spouse. (And by this Paul does not mean that they are saved). A non-Christian can be "set apart" from other non-Christians and sinful things without experiencing salvation as Paul clearly explained. So the word "sanctified" means to be "set apart." If the word "sanctified" simply meant saved, then you would have to say that the Sabbath was saved (Genesis 2:3), the tabernacle was saved (Exodus 29:43), the Lord was saved (Leviticus 10:3), the Father saved the Son (John 10:36) and many other things that just do not line up with scripture.

In verse 39, the author sets up the contrast that makes it clear to me that he was referring to unbelievers, not saved people: But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. Those who draw back to perdition do not believe to the saving of the soul and those who believe to the saving of the soul do not draw back to perdition. So after considering the context, it seems most likely that "he was sanctified" should be understood in the sense of someone who had been "set apart" or identified as an active participant in the Christian community of believers, but who has subsequently committed apostasy by renouncing his identification with other believers, by rejecting the "knowledge of the truth" that he had received, and by repudiating the work and the person of Christ himself. Such a person’s apostasy is thus evidence that his identification with the Christian community was only superficial and that he was not a genuine believer.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds Heb 10:24

Now think about this. Paul shares how the ten commandments are summarised in the two greatest commandments.
He wants to encourage people to reach out in love and help one another.

Strangely those sharing here rather than encouraging people to do good things, the are literally obsessed with condemnation of others who do anything righteous.

Any scripture that suggests you are cutoff is also explained away, in case people walk away because they are discouraged.
But if you can never loose your salvation you will never walk away. But that is actually a lie.

They know people walk away and even persecute the church, but if they are saved they are saved, but you will never know.
So it is like an insane person who says because they are my child they can never murder me, even though they have a loaded gun and are pointing it at me. At which point to do you say you are nuts or only as the bullet goes through your brain.

It is stunning to see how far these ideas have spread and captured peoples thoughts. Got to say it is all in the Lords hands, but I am glad I am learning what they believe and how far they have gone.

I'm sorry not trying to sound mean but this makes no since at all. Why would the devil waste his time trying to get you to give up on God? To what end? If he knew you would be saved anyway?

Just because I don't believe in unconditional eternal security does not mean that I am trying to WORK my way to heaven. Christ would have died in vein BUT:

A bird doesn't fly to become a bird, he flies because he is one
A fish doesn't swim to become a fish, he swims because he is one
I don't keep Gods commandments trying to become a Christian I keep them because I am one.

Remember it's called the ten commandments not the ten suggestions
If you love me keep my commandments........ Jesus

You still scare me, It is like you do not think when you post. you just throw stuff out there thinking it will convince others you are correct.

I think Jesus said it best.

John 6: [SUP]27 [/SUP]Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

[SUP]29 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

[SUP]30 [/SUP]Therefore they said to Him, “What sign will You perform then, that we may see it and believe You? What work will You do? [SUP]31 [/SUP]Our fathers ate the manna in the desert; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’”[SUP][d][/SUP]

[SUP]32 [/SUP]Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. [SUP]33 [/SUP]For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

[SUP]35 [/SUP]And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. [SUP]36 [/SUP]But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. [SUP]37 [/SUP]All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. [SUP]38 [/SUP]For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. [SUP]39 [/SUP]This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. [SUP]40 [/SUP]And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

[SUP]46 [/SUP]Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father. [SUP]47 [/SUP]Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me[SUP][g][/SUP] has everlasting life. [SUP]48 [/SUP]I am the bread of life. [SUP]49 [/SUP]Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead. [SUP]50 [/SUP]This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. [SUP]51[/SUP]I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”

If your answer is no. then by your own words, you have condemned yours self. Because you keep sinning willfully.

Sorry bro, This, "I do not willfully sin, I only make boo boo's" crap does not fly. which is exactly what you are saying.

They have no ground to stand in, If we use their interpretation they condemn themselves. or have to excuse their sin as not really all that bad, or just a boo boo (mistake)

Who said anything about begging God for forgiveness? I said "ask". Please don't hear what I did not say
lol.. When a sinner comes and asks god for forgiveness, they are begging, Because they are dead to Christ, and in danger of hellfire. ad have no leg to stand on..

Try to learn what your true status against God is, and what he thinks of ALL SIN.
and you would not make such grave errors in judgment.
