The doctrine that you can loose your salvation.
Its in the context of departng from the faith,

1 Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1 Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

1 Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Amen...great scriptures!

1 Timothy 4:1-5 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away ( apostesontai ) from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,

[SUP]2 [/SUP] by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,

[SUP]3 [/SUP] men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.

[SUP]4 [/SUP] For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude;

[SUP]5 [/SUP] for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.

What is going to cause this "falling away" ( apostasy )...people who forbid others to marry...and not to eat certain foods...why is this departing from the faith?...it's in verse 3, 4 and 5.

verse 3 = which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those
who believe and know the truth. It's in knowing who you are in Christ - who is the truth and the faith....

This not marrying and not eating certain foods to keep yourself "holy" from others..is a form of self-effort and reliance on a D.I.Y. self-righteousness/holiness mindset.

This is "departing from the faith - apostasy"....... people creating their own righteousness/holiness through their works of the flesh by self-effort...

It has the "appearance " of good but it denies the power to effect real change ...which is Christ in us and His life.

.. man-made religion denying the finished work of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When I think of what a devil doctrine is I think of the what going on in the Middle East and around the world the slaughter of humans for religious beliefs that's devil doctrine..

Adding to and taking away from Gods words and commandments is a big no, no. :)

Deuteronomy 4:2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Proverbs 30:6
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Revelation 22:18-19 "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:[SUP]19 [/SUP]And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."

Shows it coming behind here

1 Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Its a stumbling block forbidding marrying Paul said LET (in respects to marrying) for that very cause itself

1 Cr 7:2 Nevertheless,to avoid fornication, LET every man have his own wife, AND LET every woman have her own husband.

Im not following the marrying thing please explain how my post has anything to do with marriage..

Shows they were unto God this way

2 Cr 2:15
For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

In this way (to one) or the other is shown here

2 Cr 2:16
To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

2 Cr 2:17 For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.

color is a powerful tool to convey meaning that works at conscious & subconscious levels, drawing on deep emotional layers within the human psyche in often subliminal ways to educe a response in people even below our level of awareness. post haz art degree; haz been taught well about many such things.

i am sure most of us have now or have had at some point, a 'red-letter' edition of the Bible? with all of Christ's words in red?
and i am sure that almost every one of us who have or have had one of these, have skimmed through the gospels at one time or another, reading only what is in red?

and i am equally sure that when we look over the pages of the synoptic gospels, those things written in red jump out and are more important to us than any other words in the whole of scripture.

most of us are, conscious of it or not, conditioned in a very certain way to regard things of certain colors in a very certain way. they have a deep impact on us that is probably far below levels of which we are aware.

just a little experiment -- here are InSpiritInTruth's first 4 posts in this thread showing only the red words. nothing added, nothing removed except colors other than the one that we are programmed to focus our attention on.
just have a glance and see if it changes at all whether or not you think there is anything to Lynn's comment.

bear in mind that there is no reason to change any words color here apart from his own personal choice to add emphasis -- he's not keeping any sort of 'Christ's words in red' rule -- just adding his own emphasis to what he feels is important, whether it's scripture or just his own opinion, he's using color purely to make stand out what he wants to stand out.

there's a common theme here; you can guess what kind of word-studies he's been doing.

for reasons briefly discussed above, purely because of design choices, i have a hard time reading your posts without becoming nauseous. this thread is by no means an isolated example of what i'm trying to point out.

so if you guys ever wonder why i very rarely respond to InSpiritInTruth, or interact with him at all,
well -- there you have it; as plain as i can make it right now.

Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself serve the
law of God with my mind,
but with
my flesh I serve the law of sin.
(Romans 7:24-25)

Paul mentioned what they were there, I was just trying to stay with the title of the thread (where that is found) and go with the scripture in that place.

Again, this place

Speaking to these things followed up behind doctrines of devils

Great scriptures!

They show the contrast between believers in Christ and unbelievers! They see our life in Christ and it speaks to them of their death without Him.

We have such a great salvation in Christ. Doesn't it make you excited about how great a life and salvation we have in Christ?
