A woman is to ask her husband. Obviously that applies only to married women.
Why on earth would she not ask God what He means?? Her husband is some sort of mediator between her and the Spirit?? Gosh sakes!

Don't you just love it when Americans speak king James English in conversation?

It isn't my view and there is no thumping ... It is the word of God ... If His word is too harsh for you, then you need to speak unto Him with that complaint ... I merely pass along His truth ... It is a lot of people on here who wish to argue that and when they do then they are arguing with Him, not me ...
It seems that you know little of hermeneutics and less of grace. I will therefore take your opinions and commentary with the heavy dose of salt they deserve.

Yes the man is a mediator when God appoints him as one as He has done in the church ...

1 Corinthians 11:3-4 [SUP]3[/SUP]But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

I don't think you understand the spirit of the words...

Whatever translation you quoted does not include the article with "man" in the second clause. Further, unless you want to start arguing with Scripture (isn't it ironic...), I suggest you read 1 Timothy 2:5 wherein it "clearly and plainly" states that there is one mediator between God and man (both genders included), the man Jesus Christ.

The threads get insane because some of the people posting on them are completely and utterly crazy... lol
In case anyone is wondering why I am not posting on this zombie thread, Blue has the answer!

I would be interested in hearing Angela's rendering of the Greek here...

I'm seeing the lexicon (with assistance of Strong's) as reading "Sometimes, from an origin of introducing circumstances, it should happen that she wishes to do the math of (ascertain) a certain thing..."

Which word and in which verse? You were posting above from the OT, but I don’t see where or what word you are talking about!

Really, its quite ironical that I, as a woman, get told I have to listen to my husband’s interpretation of the Bible, and a few posts later, someone is asking me to exegete the Greek.

My husband would never dream of telling me what to believe. He knows that is between a believer and God. We disagree on a few areas, but one thing I have learned, is that I am not the one to teach him. He’s pretty conservative! But yet, he was happy I went to seminary, and that I have done a lot of work and study on the Bible. He is grateful that I serve Jesus!

I find where he is concerned, I just pray and ask God to show him the reasons why he is off track. God has an amazing way of bringing up that topic over and over, from the pulpit, then in his devotions. So, I guess the answer is for women to be submitted to God!

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

Notice, this is not to just men, but all people. And then there is mutual submission! I wonder why no man brings this verse up, ever??

Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Eph. 5:21

Now we have a man saying women are subject to a mans interpretation, even if it isn't right! Its cuckoo.
In fact, do you know what this is like? Its like the catholic churches claim that the woman (the bride of Christ/the church) is subject to the interpretation of men.

the scripture clearly declares man the head of woman

That a man would deign to declare he is the mediator between any other person and God is bizarre and spooky scary. What arrogance!

Sounds like a great man - and soundly grounded in the word!

The Bible says it ... Don't argue with me ... Your grief is with God ... You should ask Him why He made that declaration ...

Another one who doesn't understand the early modern English of the KJV.

Men here means mankind (which includes the female of the species)
Forgive me for being a woman and HAVING to teach you something but you were misusing scripture and it is not my spiritual duty to allow you to do so.
