The threads get insane because some of the people posting on them are completely and utterly crazy... lol
In case anyone is wondering why I am not posting on this zombie thread, Blue has the answer!
I would be interested in hearing Angela's rendering of the Greek here...
I'm seeing the lexicon (with assistance of Strong's) as reading "Sometimes, from an origin of introducing circumstances, it should happen that she wishes to do the math of (ascertain) a certain thing..."
Which word and in which verse? You were posting above from the OT, but I don’t see where or what word you are talking about!
Really, its quite ironical that I, as a woman, get told I have to listen to my husband’s interpretation of the Bible, and a few posts later, someone is asking me to exegete the Greek.
My husband would never dream of telling me what to believe. He knows that is between a believer and God. We disagree on a few areas, but one thing I have learned, is that I am not the one to teach him. He’s pretty conservative! But yet, he was happy I went to seminary, and that I have done a lot of work and study on the Bible. He is grateful that I serve Jesus!
I find where he is concerned, I just pray and ask God to show him the reasons why he is off track. God has an amazing way of bringing up that topic over and over, from the pulpit, then in his devotions. So, I guess the answer is for women to be submitted to God!
“
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
Notice, this is not to just men, but all people. And then there is mutual submission! I wonder why no man brings this verse up, ever??
“Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Eph. 5:21
