We’ve had possessed individuals manifest in services. We didn’t tell them to leave. We prayed for them. Jesus set them free!

You can do whatever you want. but the word deacon (greek) was used.

You can't ignore it. Oh wait, thats right, You are KJO.

whatever, Believe what you wish. You asked for proof. I gave it.
the word decon = servant that all. many miss some very important truths about the servant, deacon, minster and it is in the word of God .

Please look at 1 Tim 3: 11

"Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

Notice the instuction that is given to the wife? why ? she is to be silent and will not been seen why does the standard of a minster apply to her?

read on 1tim 3:12

"Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well."
the house of the servant must have integerity also the wife too.

Verse 13
For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Who is the they? The Deacons . which are known as "
diakoneō" which covers what?

well lets lookat the meaning shall we :

"to be a servant, attendant, domestic, to serve, wait upon

  1. to minister to one, render ministering offices to
    1. to be served, ministered unto
  2. to wait at a table and offer food and drink to the guests,
    1. of women preparing food
  3. to minister i.e. supply food and necessities of life
    1. to relieve one's necessities (e.g. by collecting alms), to provide take care of, distribute, the things necessary to sustain life
    2. to take care of the poor and the sick, who administer the office of a deacon
    3. in Christian churches to serve as deacons
  4. to minister

    what about Titus 2?

    2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
same standard as the man wow found in 1tim 3

how are they to teach ?

titus 2:4 That they(women) may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Now here is were maturity is needed in this ministering of women. Only men get into trouble historically, statically, and morally more than women.

This is why it is good to have women in the church beside their husband to serve the people during the service. WHY? Because many of the men cannot keep their hands off the women. And the wife protects the office of the Husband. BUT NOPE! You so-called bible theologians want-2-be’s think they are not to be minsters. Wrong! The bible is clear to what they can do. This is why many Husbands, deacons, and pastors, fail morally. Because they do not use the gift God gave them to keep them out of trouble. This is why MEN have sexual issues, Men who are called pastors have been divorced, and men who have been accused of sexual abuse. Nothing is more powerful then a husband and wife team AS God Ordained to be in ministries For both men and women of the Church.

A Deacon is not required to have a wife.

"Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife" is simply a directive against polygamy. It doesn't mean they MUST be married. Just that it isn't suitable for Christian leaders to have multiple wives.

When you people say "everyone" should be allowed to attend a service, those are the disgusting things you defend. So, you should change your opinion not to include "everyone".
This is a key problem with you, specifically. You, specifically, aggregate all those who disagree with you into "you people".

"You people" don't say anything, because "you people" don't have ID's on this site. When you respond to someone, please address that specific person's comments, not the comments of everyone else who happens to agree with that person on some or all of the issue under discussion.

You can overlook this principle when you are intentionally addressing members of a group, which you are free to identify as you choose, but again, the more specifically you do so, the more likely your comments will receive response from those to whom it is addressed.

I will have to confirm when I have my interlinear Greek in front of me, but I believe that in all these verses, the words you have as "wife" or "wives" can legitimately be translated "woman" or "women". The choice to cast them as wives to male deacons suggests a bias toward male-only deacons.

Here the example of Phoebe is worth considering. :)

John 2:13-22 [SUP]13[/SUP]When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. [SUP]14[/SUP]In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. [SUP]15[/SUP]So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. [SUP]16[/SUP]To those who sold doves he said, "Get these out of here! Stop turning my Father's house into a market!" [SUP]17[/SUP]His disciples remembered that it is written: "Zeal for your house will consume me." [SUP]18[/SUP]The Jews then responded to him, "What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?" [SUP]19[/SUP]Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days." [SUP]20[/SUP]They replied, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?" [SUP]21[/SUP]But the temple he had spoken of was his body. [SUP]22[/SUP]After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

Absolute proof that not just "anyone" or "anything" is allowed in God's house. For those who wish to believe otherwise, I suggest you read the scripture.
Do you understand why the Lord did this? Given it was supposed to be the High Priests (who were supposed to be closest to GOD) who interceded for the people

In many cases yes, though perhaps not in all. I think it depends on the individual. A bit like the "better to marry that to burn with lust" teaching. If you can serve better single, good then you don't have a family to be concerned for and can devote all of your time to The Lord. But it's better to marry than to burn with lust and as you have pointed out, your spouse can be beneficial in ministry.

I'm not trying to oppose or contradict what you are saying about this. I think you have raised some good points. Just discussing, I hope that's ok.

This is the BDF, there is no end to arguments. Just pauses.
LOL .

Good thought. I would guess when you are working within circular reasoning of the perfect book of God's law sealed up until the end of time, the hope is in a pause of someone perhaps to take another chance to reflect and perhaps take another look as a old doctrine knowing that not only does the Holy Spirit teach and comfort us but also brings to mind that in which he has taught us. Its the pause that moved the noble Bereans to search the scripture when the Spirit spoke through Paul. Just pauses.. in everything works together for the good of those who pause to reflect on thier God and Savior.

1 Timothy 3:12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.”

Based upon the new versions, Phoebe should have only one wife giving acknowledgment to gay marriage.

The underlying Greek word in question is διακονον - diakonos. But it has several meanings. In the KJB it is translated as DEACON only twice and these are in 1 Timothy 3:8 and 12 where it refers to one of the offices in the local church. We have elders and deacons. But both were men who were to be married to godly wives.

The main meaning of the word is minister, meaning a servant, and the word SERVANT itself. It is used in such places as John 2:5 and 2:9 where Jesus turned the water into wine.

“His mother saith unto the SERVANTS, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” John 2:5

“When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the SERVANTS which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom” John 2:9

The verb form of this word is diakoneo and it also means TO SERVE or to MINISTER - as in Hebrews 6:10 - “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that YE HAVE MINISTERED to the saints, and DO MINISTER.”

I se that a litle differently. I would offer first the office is not without children so that the duel ministry of the husband and wife as one, has some experience and success when consoling couples or singles that are having relationship issue.

One wife is the requirement. A divorced husband would not be qualified in keeping the ceremonial office .And neither a single woman nor man. If a man cannot control his own nature he was not allowed to Sheppard a flock. It does not mean that cannot be used in other ministries.

If it applied to Presidents one would have been impeached a few years ago rather than lowering the moral decline with a new poster child.

It is in the context that a woman should be silent in the church setting and not council with men that are not their husbands in order to keep down on sexual immortality, now that woman was not literally separated from men at church and eyes focus on the wrong things, seeing the only glory to be seen is the veiled glory of faith, not the temporal representative glory of man or woman.

And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 1Ti 3:10

Interestingly in the description of a deacon right from the start it is them… giving the first responsibility of that office to a wife as the stablelizer .

Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 1Ti 3:11-12

It shows the reward of faith, the increase of it.

For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus. 1Ti 3:13

The teaching again is in respect to the dynamic duel. With children required

Titus 1:6 if any man is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children that believe, who are not accused of riot or unruly.

No wife, no children, no Job.

How absurd. Read the scripture. Now, how can a man be a husband of one wife without first being a husband ? Absolutely the scripture is saying a deacon must be a man.

There is no rule on this site saying one cannot use "you people" to begin a posting. Who are you to be adding rules ? I happen to be free to address all that hold the same opinion anytime I wish. You should stop pretending you are the forum police and trying to make up your own rules.

do not do personal attacks
Very good advice for yourself, hornetguy. Actually it is you that has been one of those performing the personal attacks. Calling people things and suggesting they think of themselves as king simply because they are posting God's very own words. You should take your own advice.
