I would careful on how we hear God?

Teleported by which kind of spirit? The father of lies? Even the Son of man had no authority to teleport his flesh one place to another. But he was tempted when the father of lies showed the Son of man all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them as the same kind of lying sign and wonder he is performing today. The devil performed that by bringing in information .They never moved an inch in the sand.

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; Mat 4:5

The Son of man walked by faith not after his own experiences (walking by sight) as if the kingdom of God was of this world.

So Are you saying Elijah and Enoch were translated by the devil?

You need to understand the difference between the Kingdom of God and Kingdom of Heaven...

Although alot of the threads in the Family forum contradict that a wife's desire shall be (only) for her husband.. Seems both husbands and wives desire other people's husbands and wives also.. :/ JMO
This is not what Gen 3.16 is talking about...it is saying that it will be a woman's desire to control your husband, but he will be in rule over you...

An no I am not a raging chauvinist, this is what it really means...

Is Jesus cursed? If not, neither am I. Because I was crucified with Christ and it's no longer I who live but Christ in me. :D

I don't think Women are under a curse a possible exception could be Hilary lol

mheee...I think I see her more as the one handing them out

but on the serious side? unbelievers are cursed...they are under the curse of the law...which is death

what the Bible calls world systems is the blanket of deception the devil covers those outside of Christ with

I could expound on that, but I think it's clear enough

lol it may interests you to know that the Hebrew paints this curse for daughters of Eve in a slightly different way.

Genesis 3:16
Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to {אֶל} thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

אֶל meaning "against" as the short definition.

Translated in scripture as:

- Against (162 times)
- Over (23 times)
- [facing] Toward (75 times)
- Before (11 times)

So we have something like..."and your desire will be {set against} your husband, and [yet] he shall rule over you." In other words, she'll oppose him from then on and yet he'll lead. This makes better sense and also fit's the crime since Eve led Adam instead of he leading her. It also pretty much explains why today...{mumbles quietly}...but thank God we're all new creatures in Christ. :D

so I'm going to sum up what I believe scripture is saying under this post cause I think it describes the state of much of the world and sadly even Christian marriages

I think it is plain that certain curses are still in effect...for example, I think of that weed curse whenever I have to weed yet again...and the sweat of the brow? well that certainly still goes on...even 9 to 5...actually I think that timetable grinds down the soul but that may just be me

women...well...even being one...you see women manipulating all over the place but in a handy about face, men do the same but some go straight to intimidation...just cut the corners please...and some believers teach that a woman should just well...accept that men make the world go round

but they don't

so the salvation for the mess we are in is Jesus. Always Jesus!

neither me nor my husband like to be told what to do...so you can imagine the scene if neither of us were believers

divorce or death would be imminent

so that is the solution then. put Jesus first...not yourself...in putting Him first, in resting IN Him, in believing (having faith) that He is able and He is all that we are not but all that we are IN Him, allows us to go beyond ourselves

we will find that a marriage can indeed be cursed if the participants are outside of that central theme...in ALL your ways acknowledge Him!

salvation is now, salvation is ongoing and salvation is future

so only with Jesus are we no longer cursed...He became that accursed being without God for that moment on the cross when He cried out to His Father and asked why He had turned His face away

God does not turn His face away from us when He sees Jesus...our perfect and eternal High Priest

we have new life ... there is so much to that truth but as we think about ourselves, so we act, so we are...as Proverbs tells us

My Parents were friends with Missionaries that were in East Berlin during the 70's and the height of the Wall and cold war....They gave us a testimony at the dinner table one night...they were smuggling Bibles into a small town on the east side of Germany and they were stopped a ta checkpoint...the guards came out and were cocking their weapons and leveling them at the car and our friends began praying....he said that it was about noon and as they began to pray and they saw a light and it was like the light from the most beautiful sunset they had ever seen...it filled the whole car....they then "became conscious of things" again and they were at their final destination, which was the small town about 250 miles from the check point...they unloaded the Bible with the help of the people of the underground church, had a small service and drive back to East Berlin....when they got to the csame checkpoint they gave them their papers and the papers show they had been cleared at the same checkpoint when they had first arrived...10 hours later....and were waved through without even a stop.

They then talked about a time at fellow Christian friends apartment in East Berlin, they were eating dinner and all 4 of them started praying...the secret Police broke in and as the 4 of them prayed they could see the secret police and soldiers but the secret police and soldiers could not see them...they watched the men search the entire apartment, but not once did they see our friends and the other Christians...they said the leader of the secret Police lit a cigarette in the apartment and they could even smell the cigarette, but not once were they ever seen....

My Dad told them.....He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High.....Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.

They looked at Dad and said...darn tootin! :)
we are all most likely thinking I want to believe this but.........

reading it, I do not find myself going 'yeah sure', but rather I pause and say could be

I have had some experiences outside of the norm enough that I don't just dismiss things

who knows how much we don't know or see in the reality that is beyond our physical eyes

I understand Lauren.....I always questioned it myself, until I heard other missionaries telling similar things.....

I am not here to convince anyone of anything, just share what I have heard......

I will offer this though...How many items did Jesus appear and disappear after his resurrection and before his ascension?

PS: If teleportation is included in the new body...I am like all over that....LOL now in 4 3 2 1 the religious will stone me...

Enoch and Elijah were teleported into God's eternal presence. They're exceptions to the rule in a fallen world.
If, as some think, they will be the two witnesses who are killed in Revelation, they would no longer be exceptions after that. :)

Both men and women are under a curse from a physical standpoint as it was established in the garden with God to Adam and the woman.
Due to the fact that we still have flesh bodies, physically we are still dealing with the effects of Adam's transgression. Women still have birth pangs, men still have to toil the ground by the sweat of their brows, etc. This is all still in effect. Spiritually we are free, but we still have flesh bodies.

When we are glorified and receive our spiritual bodies, our physical bodies will no longer be a hindrance to us due to the flesh which wars against the Spirit.

I'm into interplanetary visits myself...so you just teleport away

so then we are helpless victims and just have to take one for ......what?

spiritually we are free? what does that even mean...we can imagine and think but physically we are cursed?

that is not NT teaching IMO

you can read my post 106 if you like...that's where I am at

all men do not toil the ground...all women do not have pain in birth...what about pain blockers?

so why did Jesus die and why does scripture say He became a curse and why are we told that we are new creatures in Christ and old things have passed away?

you have to reconcile the Word...you cannot just decide which part you will believe...in order to believe all of it, it takes diligent study and commitment...when I say you here, I mean everyone not you personally...but yeah, it applies

I am curious as to why no one has mentioned the other curses? or maybe that is my fault for the title of the op?

the earth? the serpent?

do people bring curses upon themselves ? Is it what they do that causes a curse to come about?

were Adam and Eve punished by God or did they suffer the consequences, already in effect, when one disobeys?

uh oh...there's a twist

something to think about as some say around here......

By Holy Spirit, of course. And of course, Jesus Christ had the authority to teleport if He so wished. He's God. He can do anything. But while on earth, God limited Himself for our sake. As Jesus in human form God was and is fully God, fully man. He didn't give up His authority when He came to earth. He brought His authority to full fruition in bringing about the New Covenant.

No one who is saved is under a curse

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

No curse in Christ...thank you Jesus!!
Believers no longer live under the Law. But believers still live in a fallen world and reap the consequences of living in a fallen world.

That's not at all what my point was saying. The bible says that we are strangers in a foreign land. While we are born again, we are still living in this world. We are not of this world, but still residing here. The curse of mankind is to all mankind and it rains on the just and the unjust due to the curse Adam gave to mankind. While we still have flesh bodies, in the natural, we still have to deal with the things that come in the natural. Christ came to reconcile us back to the Father. He wants to re-establish us in the way Adam was before the fall. As Adam transgressed against God, prior to the transgression, the earth did not need to be tilled by the sweat of the brow etc. Do born again women still have monthly cycles? Do they still have pain in child birth?

Do we have flesh bodies? Yes
Do our flesh bodies pull us away from what the Lord wants us to do? Yes
Will we receive glorified, spiritual bodies at glorification free from the yearnings of the flesh? Yes

This is what I meant by saying that we are still cursed in some way due to the natural aspects of our body. There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Thus we are exhorted as born again believers to take every thought captive unto the Lord Jesus Christ. Our battle is spiritual, and the flesh indeed has spiritual effects.

I didn't mention the other curses, but I did put an etc as I was not near my bible :p

okay...I just read this in another forum...family forum and it occurs to me that people believe this and there are plenty of books out there that teach this

BUT...does the Bible teach this?

are women walking around under a curse, forever living under a burden that really, no one can bear?

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.
II Corinthians 5:17

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

I guess the question is: are we still cursed as Adam and Eve, or are we new creatures in Christ and these curses are broken?

I'm wondering how many people believe this

Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Gen 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
Gen 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

This is Adam and Eve's curse, which still applies today, women still have painful labor, and people work the land for food, although some buy food from other people that till the ground, with money they earned from their job,but some people have inherited money, and buy food from money not labored for,but we still are going to pay for it one way or another, but Adam and Eve only has to dress the garden, and food was provided for them,in which the provision of food would come at a more physical cost, for even the person that inherited money had to get his butt up,and get to the legal office when his fatcat butt wanted to sleep in.

Other than that the curse of sin,but we confess Jesus, are led of the Spirit, and beat that curse, and are new creatures.

I do not see any other curse, and I do not believe in witchcraft, and hexes, and jinxes,or those type of curses,so we cannot be cursed there, although we might be cursed at by some people.

okay...I see you guys quoting the OT

but you do not reconcile it with the new

so, unless you have something new to say?

not going to argue with you

you cannot remove any curses...Jesus can and does

He actually bore the wrath of God and experienced that for us...I am not cursed but if some of you wish to think that you are, well, I pray God helps you to see the curtain is torn by HIS doing

be bold...

What was being said was being spoken of in the New Testament as well, thus showing the dynamic God has from the OT to the NT and reconciling our understanding with the NT. It also shows how things are dealt with spiritually instead of physically now that we are in the new covenant. Paul wrote about dealing with the flesh body quite extensively as well as tempering ourselves and resisting sin. He also wrote about our new glorified/spiritual bodies that we shall have once we are glorified, another NT dynamic. Jesus also spoke to the exact same thing. Thus yes, we have no argument.

people seem to like to focus on the woman's 'curse' and indeed, that was how this op got started...from remarks made in another thread in another...which I disagreed with...neither here nor there other than the impetus for this thread

does the Bible not suggest a supernatural way of life even while we are on these bodies?

we do not have the same understanding, but I have been at it quite a few years longer than have you and have been through quite a few testing and trying times...and I know a little about the subject matter and can attest to the fact that we do not have to live as everyone else in a fallen world

whatever happened to more than conquerors?

I expect your own understanding and experience will deepen as you continue in your walk

yes...I am old enough and in the Lord long enough to say that
