P.S. (For Jason...)

You're typing and answering on a computer or some other sort of technologically advanced device that runs on electricity, that many people do not have access to. I'm also assuming you don't have to walk hours and hours to draw water from a well for daily living. You probably just go to a faucet and turn it on.

You DO realize that YOU are definitely one of the "rich" you've kept going on and on about, don't you, with privileges far greater than vast numbers of people in the world?

What is God asking you to give away? And how do you personally apply all the principles you've listed to your own life?

I'm just always curious as to how those who adamantly know what to do and are even more adamant about telling others... carry it out in their own living.
Are you 'practicing' authority over men and telling them what to do, or are you 'prophesying'?

Do you know the 'meaning' of 'prophesying'?

As a women, please do not 'practice lawlessness'.

Thank you and may GOD forgive you and bless you in the name of LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Seoulsearch you and Moses have a lot in common lol. It's not how we enter this world but how we leave it.......good for you, blessings.
Thank you, bondservant. A mentor at church once observed that as well. I've come to a point where I sometimes say, "Moses was found in a basket, and I was found in a box!" Not that I deserve any comparisons to Moses, of course!

Ironically, the social worker also told my adoptive mom that because someone had obviously taken even care to actually place me into a container and put me in a public spot, someone might have even been standing nearby to make sure I was found, much like Miriam and Moses.

However, over the years, I've also heard that sometimes pretty stories like this have been told to cover up very unpretty truths, such as, of a child being given up because it was a girl and the parents wanted a boy or because the pregnancy was the result of terrible circumstances. It's something I plan to ask God about someday because of course, I long to know the truth, even if it's something I don't want to hear.

But thank you so much for your kind words. :)

But does not the rest of the world who is starving and poor consider us as being rich for having basic things like a house, a car, and a computer? They may think that, but they are also not working hard like we are in most cases at a job that demands alot out of them. We are also not hoarding these things but we are meeting a basic needs in order to function better.
Jason,

As a former orphan from overseas who later visited her former orphanage as an adult--and saw many people living without what you see as "basic needs in order to function"--I vehemently disagree with your definitions of what is to be considered "rich" and what are "necessities". Many of the people at the orphanage were also working as volunteers in addition to their own regular jobs.

I also truly believe that without the things you see as necessities, many people have to work much, much harder than those who have them. We truly don't know the luxuries we have here. I have been told that even in modernized places like India, electricity is only available during certain times of the day and so you must plan your daily schedule around the regular power outage.

And I am sure that to God, the diligent mother who walks all day to a well to supply water for her children is working just as hard, and just as diligently as those you personally seem to deem worthy of defining as "working hard".

However, we can agree to disagree. God bless you in your journey to... not be rich. ;)

You've rightly judged that yes, I am indeed a woman.

And that is the only thing you've judged correctly in your post. I am neither telling someone what to do nor am I prophesying.

But thank you for your judgment and condemnation.

God bless.

P.S. Please read my other posts in this thread for a proper context before judging and speaking. Thank you.

That's just a polite suggestion--it is neither prophecy nor an absolute command for your behavior, in case you couldn't tell the difference.

Therefore, please 'quote' to us according to the Holy Scripture 'you', 'others' and 'i' represent, what is the 'meaning' of 'prophesying' and to 'justify' to all 'believers', men and women, you have 'done so'?

Rather than 'continuing' in 'vain' repetition and they are of 'lawlessness' conduct, influencing' other 'weak women' to do so, to be together in 'lawlessness'.

Seoulsearch, when I was born my dad disowned me, he and my mom had issues, anyways in order to go on a camping trip as a cub scout you had to have a father, well needless to say I asked God if he would. Now I never went on that camping trip but God ( my dad) and I have been pitching a tent ever since. Funny how things work out.

The 'question' have not been answered, and why you 'long' to be a 'busybody'?

You 'claim' to be a 'bondservant' and yet you do not 'practice' so. i did not question you.

Thank you and GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST forgive you and bless you with 'spiritual discernment' to 'Spiritual word/teaching of CHRIST of the New Covenant/testament/Agreement'.

If anything this should be a sober cold water splash of water to not hoard riches then, right? One works hard for their basic needs whether those basic needs appear to be more luxurious to another culture is dependent upon whether or not that thing is actually a necessity or need that fits a basic requirement. The things I mentioned do fit basic needs. One can go even lower than what you describe. A person can live in a forest with just leaves covering their body. They can live off the land and be a vagabond. We can take this to an extreme but I do not think that is what the LORD had in mind. For this type of vagabond might think those living in orphanages are living like kings and that they are rich. But such would not be true. Again. They are getting by with meeting the basic needs. Just as our culture does today who pays more so as to meet needs so as to function in our world more efficiently. For if one does not have a car, and it is more difficult for them to reach people so as to preach to them, then would it not be good to have a car so as to reach them? Yes, the apostles got by without cars. Philip was transported by the LORD from one location to another. But we live in a world that has changed. We are in the world but we are not of the world. We can do all things thru Christ which strengthens us. So I have disagree with you. I do not think God wants people to sell their house and their car. God allowed the disciples to keep their houses. Why would he do that?

But again, this is not justification to have hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars just sitting in your bank account so as to help you sleep better at night.

Fredjames,

I don't know if you are new to online forums, but generally it is considered to be proper forum manners to stick to the topic of the current thread.

Please ask your questions in the form of starting a new thread (so as not to derail the ones we have going here) and I'm sure many of us will be happy to answer you and discuss the topics you've brought up.

Once again, I am neither prophesying nor telling you what to do--this is just what's considered to be good manners/etiquette when participating in any online discussion.

Bondservant--Your earthly Dad doesn't know how much he's missing out!!! Loved your story! Thanks so much for sharing. :)

Why, according to 1 Corinthians 11, women are allowed to 'pray and 'prophesy', with a 'covering', even in this 'Forum' in their 'duty' to 'built up' GOD's lambs and sheep.

Apart from 'these' word/teaching of CHRIST through Apostle Paul and others in 'context', therefore are 'counterfeits' and 'imposters', who have gone ahead of CHRIST, neglect gaining Spiritual Kingdom knowledge by the Help of the HOLY SPIRIT, through 'the author and perfector of our faith' of the 'given' and 'made' New Covenant/Testament/Agreement, made by GOD by the blood of HIS SON. for all of HIS lambs and sheep to listen to HIS 'voice' and 'practice' and 'abide' and 'bear much fruit' and 'their fruit must abide'.

As it is written;

"My sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow Me, ................................................................"

Yes, Fredjames.

And I certainly see yours as well.

As I just told you, please start a thread about this topic so as not to disrespect the person who started this original thread, and I will be happy to answer you further there.

God bless.

As it is written, 'GOD requires true worshipers to worship HIM in 'spirit' and 'truth', even 'witnessing' in this Forum of HIS, honoring CHRIST of the written New Covenant/Testament/Agreement.

This is not 'based' on your 'tread' reply, but the 'aftermath' of 'lawlessness'.

You have not 'witnessed' mine, but of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, 'as a reminder' and 'a stir up of memory' to all, as written according to the New Covenant/Testament/Agreement, in order to 'contain' the 'gifted spirit', to 'labor' in 'submissive' and 'obedient' to the written grace and Truth given and made.

Apart from 'these', as it is written, this is just a market place, where 'robbers' and 'thieves' hide.

th bible says it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven

and yet rich men have already gone to heaven...leaving their riches behind of course

Jesus was actually saying that a person cannot be saved on their own merits...he was not saying that if you have money you go to hell which is the interpretation you appear to be putting on it

The rich young ruler told Jesus he had kept the commandments and now he wanted to know what else he had to do...

remember, that NO ONE has EVER kept the commandments, so Jesus was actually being a little sarcastic in His reply

you would need to do a study on Jewish thought of the day with regards to their attitudes towards wealth...they believe that if you were wealthy, God had blessed you

You cannot take one verse and conclude such a gigantic one size fits all answer...Jesus was using hyperbole

No, no. Jesus words are to be believed and followed. Jesus meant what He said. He said, where your treasure is, there where your heart be also. You cannot go to Heaven if your heart is here upon this Earth that is still stuck upon a bunch of carnal garbage. It doesn't work like that. For the disciples asked, Who then can be saved? Jesus replied that with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Meaning, God will give you a new heart with new desires and He will place His Spirit within you so as to keep His Laws and statutes (Ezekiel 36:26-27). Which Laws and statutes? The Law of Moses? No. The Commands given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ and the apostles in the New Testament. For it is never wrong to obey Jesus and His apostles.

...which was exactly my point to begin with...
Yet, it really is not a point because one is not hoarding riches if they are meeting basic needs so as to get to their job and having a place to rest their head, and providing for their family and yet also glorifying God with all these things, too. For there is a big difference between basic needs versus say hoarding treasure or tons o' cash in your bank account.
