Why the rage? Are we now banned from using Holy Scripture in explaining our beliefs?

you have the audacity to use these passages - about the disciples and christians throughout time who have been murdered and hunted and cast out of families and apply them to YOU?

because you don't like having your doctrine challenged?

and look at you.
pathetic.

going after Bob Dewaay the way you did...

tell me Stephen. are there not enough people on CC who insult and persecute me daily?
not enough for you?

rally some more....little David or whoever you fancy yourself to be.

i think i'll start applying this to myself as of today:

  • For instance, if you are persecuted here on CC because you stand on the Word, it is evident that God's spirit is upon you. You are to be happy to suffer for Christ's name.v

JamieJ, I'm honestly feel this is perfect example of why we are not to throw pearls before the swine. They trample not only your message but you in the process?

Thank you Shiloah, the pity here is, the forum is for those who truly wish to discuss the Word, in turn I should think the Gospel delivered to us by our Savior. Unhappily, along with the wheat, tares do grow, and they will not be removed and burned until the great and glorious Harvest of our King, and only then will they be separated from the wheat and burned.
So, in the spirit of sharing the blessings of understanding from the gospel, we sometimes must suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune in the form of swine among the lambs. Keep up the good fight, soldier!

I saw what is there. You accused Stephen of insulting. There was no insult there. There was only a defense and an explanation of what he wrote in response to an attack. An accusation such as this, especially when entirely unfounded is an attack. It's the same as what provoked his response to begin with. You don't address the person that keeps jabbing pins in someone, but you get after that person for responding to being continually attacked. It's bizarre. There's clearly a little pack of groupies in here that justify one another's ungodly methods of abuse for some reason other than furthering the Kingdom of God.

It's not of God, in fact, it's a terrible example of how Christians should act.
UMM Now didn't Stephen accuse me of the same thing you're accusing me of? Aren't you being just as bizarre? You didn't say one word to Stephen even though it was a direct statement about her. Yet on the other hand you will defend Stephen even though he accused me of the very same thing you just said I did. Don't a number of you do the very same thing with your group?

Never mind the fact that he started a thread about that very same thing about insults and persecution and then turns around and does the very thing he is railing against. But that's OK because it's Stephen. The reason I pointed it out was because he was talking about the insults to BEGIN with, then he turns around and does the very that he is speaking out about.

Absolutely true, JaimeJ. They do show themselves by their fruits anyway to anyone that's really looking and going by what Jesus said, that you will know them by their fruits. And the truth is, if onlookers only see bad fruits representing Christianity, that will drive them away from Christ. So what other choice to we have but to continue to fight that good fight?

If you love Me, feed my sheep.

I read through continual threads on this site as I'm sure most everyone does. I see the constant snide innuendos that eventually become attacks on the persons beliefs that go far beyond scriptural argumentation. I've repeatedly seen them show scriptures and try to respond in a Christ like fashion. Yet the attackers continue until a person finally responds by saying something like Stephen did? You call that an insult? Jesus called the Pharisees a herd of jackals. However, when He spoke to the Sadducees concerning their belief that there was no resurrection, He simply told them they misunderstood scriptures and explained why.

And Stephen calls what Zone said in those insults? I understand what Jesus said to the Pharisees, but what I start to see is the double standard. It happens on BOTH sides. Don't some do it to her also? Does the thought ever enter your mind that you can excuse Stephen for saying things like yet many can not so the same for her? Hasn't she shown scriptures also? Hasn't she also tried to explain her position also?

If I didn't know any better, I'd think this derailment was deliberate to stop others from sharing their experiences, as if they don't want anybody to know/find out about them.

I don't think it was about bashing me. I think it was a cover to stop the benefits of the thread for others. They were killing 2 birds with one stone.

Now did you think of this all by yourself, or did you have help from another of your spiritual ilk? Do you call this fellowshiping in Bible discussion?

Hail, hail, the gang's all here.

Are you aware you are making sport, that is scoffing at people who claim the Blood of the Lamb of God? How is your response possible? It is certainly not Word inspired. You should apologize to the OP.

Before I get any hypocritical flack on the term, spiritual ilk, I am qualified to state, the post in question is not inspired by the Holy Spirit. Also, it appears to be sourced from an opposing spirit. Flack that! Yeshua is Lord, and truth is the Way.

And to take it a bit further isn't there different opinions of what is and is not an insult?

When the truth hurts when dealing with the Word, it probably is supposed to; not an insult, a lesson.
When discussing the Word in what is supposed to be Bible discussion and variance is made strictly for the sake of putting down the person posting, this is not in the spirit of fellowshiping, it is not of the Holy Spirit.

The most recent example of deliberately mocking the brethren is the roll of note paper in the form of toilet paper. This type of oh-i-am-just-kidding humor is base, yet rampant by many so-called believers in the forum. Base humor, ridicule, winking the eye, etc. have no real place when discussing the Word.

Scroll through some of the seemingly more heated posts and see the soul less humor and cartoons posted in friendly humor. It is quite repulsive.

I now expect one of the spirit-filled stars of the forum to come along to tell me again, humor is good in fellowship in the Lord. This is a lie. Read what the Word teaches on the subject, then say it is good.

It would appear that many will only tolerate opinions that agree with their own. Oops I hope some are not feeling persecuted by my statement.
