This is exactly the reason that my bible study class decided against learning anything about how demons are working in our world. They felt that searching for facts about it was giving demons power.
Christ spoke of demons and it did not give demons power, quite the opposite. In years past there has been misinformation in the church about them and innocent people were murdered. Today, Hollywood and authors are using them to sell entertainment.
Demons are here, demons are at work among us. Scripture tells us we have a problem with them in the last days. I don't think it is wise at all to deny ourselves knowledge about them, I think that gives them more power. When I made a study of them I found out some things we all need to know. As an example of one fact I found about them was that no one should try to handle demons ever, it is too dangerous and we will always lose. Christ has been given authority over them and we must use this authority only when we oppose them. There are many other things I learned, and I think it is necessary for the church to learn these things, also.
Actually by not understanding the ways of your enemy is giving them real power, because when you refuse to acknowledge they are real and we wrestle with them, you add to their deception and millions die in their sins not understanding demons and Satan are real and not metaphors for a bad hair day....
Understanding and knowing the enemy and his fallen is by understanding Jesus Christ won the victory at the cross and when he rose again....He won the victory and in this day we must enforce that victory everyday.
Keeping your head in the sand or stating you have no power over them through Jesus Christ is nice and spiritual, but also refuted by what Jesus said in the Bible. His whole time in the wilderness shows you and I how to handle the Devil and his fallen....
Stop giving the powers of darkness a hand, buy stating talking about them gives them power, what gives them power is not talking about them, understanding and knowing the authority you have over them in Jesus Christ.
If your walk is easy going, you better check whose hand you are walking with...it most certainly and most likely is not the Saviors....
